I would like to sing the praises of the office staff, as well as the restaurant employees at Zevenwacht. They honestly saved us this weekend. My daughter was getting married in the area and we had booked a room elsewhere. When we got to that place, the room was tiny and did not suit our needs.I called Zevenwacht first, as we had just had lunch there, so I tried my luck... They were pretty full but they managed to move things around and helped us, thereby saving us from having a disaster and a very sad, unhappy bride. What a beautiful place, run and staffed by magical people, thank you Zevenwacht, we love you. (Lovely hot water, clean soft bed, stunning breakfast, I am so grateful…)
We visited for lunch and a wine tasting. Lunch was exceptional - all four of us really enjoyed our meals. Good old comfort food with generous portions. Can highly recommend the burger! Staff were friendly.Wine tasting was also great - even though they were very busy we were looked after very well. Great selection of delicious wine to choose from.
TOP OF THE WINE TASTING FARMS !!This was an impulsive wine tasting decision and one of the best choices. Our wine guide was incredible. She was informative, friendly, positive, kind and full of jokes and stories about the farm and the wine 🍷The wine tasting was tasteful, the description of the wines and the taste was delightful. The 2 person cheese board with cured meats was well plated, the mixture of protein, breads and fruits compliments each other nicely. The wine paired well with the cheeses, salami, bread, olives, figs and the swiss cheese are tasteful and fresh. The figs really bring out the wine taste. Sitting outside in the wine tasting area you will encounter the nature of the wine farm and the calming nature will help to bring on the wine to the top experience.Definitely a must to go and enjoy the experience for yourself.
Shannon was the best wine tasting server I have ever come across. I highly recommend her if you come here.If you see this Shannon,We love you with all our heart ❤
Visited yesterday for first time for wine and cheese tasting , very relaxing atmosphere, staff and host S were very friendly and good customer service...😁😀 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Very nice place to visit, with a great view. Service is great, but unfortunately the picnic basket we got was not up too standard. We expected more for the money we paid. Hopefully its just a one time thing.
Had a pleasant experience even though we just stayed for a short while. Our waiter, Vanya was such so lovely, and her hosting skills made us feel well taken care of. I will definitely visit again, even though the GPS had me going in circles.
I have never felt that unwelcome at a venu before, my fiancé and I went to scope a wedding venu and it was if we were judged the minute we got in the door. We werent informed in detail about the venu when getting there , the lady that assisted us wasnt very informative regarding the venu it was as if I had to drag out information from her. If she was a sales person she wouldve been fired because promoting the place was not top of her list and I actually felt offended as if my skin wasnt white enough or I couldnt afford it. I am very sorry but I wouldnt recommend this venu to anyone infect Id recommend Ashanti estate as they know how to value possible clients, and I could surely feel the warmth there. Before even asking questions the lady assisting me at Ashanti estate answered all my questions now thats EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. If business is not what you are looking for then close your doors instead of disregarding people first time Ive been there and Id definitely not want to go back , apartheid is long gone its the 21st century
Amazing scenery. A large main trail leading to multiple smaller trails. Ensure to take a helmet and permit if you go to mountain bike.
Very popular venue for hiking as it is open to the public to walk freely across the estate. Fresh air in the hills among the vineyards. Guarantees a good workout. There are 2 restaurants on site too with different cuisines, a cheesery and winery too. Braai baskets available on site with wood supplied, nice outdoor relaxed atmosphere.
GREAT VIEWS !!! BRILLIANT WINE
Great wines and good company makes this the ideal oleace to enjoy yourself.
Fantastic area, safe environment.
Wonderful, peaceful, revitalizing experience of nature and tranquility...our favourite go-to-getaway
Nice wines. Very friendly staff. Excellent service. Pleasant outing for the family. Will highly recommend it
Just had the worst experience at Sevenwacht from the Wine Tasting manager at 16:30 on 8 Feb 2020. There where 3 free tables and she refused us access saying it’s all reserved. On my 3rd taste another waiter told us the table was free. We finished the wine tasting there but all 5 of us decided to go else where due to this discriminatory treatment. We are not impressed even though our waiter Patric did everything he could to assist us.
Nice wines. Very friendly staff. Excellent service. Pleasant outing for the family. Will highly recommend it
We went for wine tasting. The presentation was beautiful. The wine was good but the lady that presented the wine ... It looked like she didnt really enjoyed her job.
We did some cheese and wine paring. Patrick was very informative and the wines were very nice. You have variety to choose from with lovely cheese platters. Also visited the restaurant only had starters as we wanted something light to eat.The farms has a picnic area tasting room and restaurant on site. Nice and cool under the trees. The tasting room has aircon which helped today. We will be back to taste the rest of the wine.
The wine and cheese pairing, as well as the chocolate and wine pairing was amazing with excellent presentation. Very Friendly and helpful staff and definitely a wine estate I would recommend to anyone visiting this area. The wine is worth tasting, and not like anything else you have tasted before, very unique flavors.
This is one of my favorite places to go even if just to sat on the lawns or have a glass of wine while overlooking the dam. I love their wine and the sunsets over the dam can get very beautiful
This place is pretty spectacular. On arrival, you get a view of the restaurant from across the lake. The small windy roads have a unique charm to them. The restaurant has good food (if only the chef learned that duck should not be chewy like rubber, and medium rare does not mean medium well). Service at the restaurant is fantastic.Parking is adequate. There does not seem to be much in the way of lighting on the property. Drive carefully in the dark.
Heaven on Earth. One of South Africas highlights - wine farms - and Zevenwacht is definitely worth the visit. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L and the wine, a testimony - truly exquisite. You can almost taste the passion that goes behind making this wine - by the taste, a beautiful passion those wine makers, make. A must see.
Amazing experience
Was a good wine tasting! Patrick who took us through the wines was great! Cheese or chocolate platters are available to pair with tasting. Would definitely go back. (Beautiful restaurant too!). The Manager (Xoliswa I think) could work on her finesse when trying to correct employees on not giving us wine order forms as quickly as she felt they should have, as well as interactions with customers who couldnt pronounce Cabernet Savignon but you can see she is running a tight ship and trying hard. Hopefully this helps them improve!
The park area has always been a getaway for me and my family, on arrival today we heard that we cannot attend it due to us having to purchase a picnic basket which in the past we only bought a bottle of wine or ice cream now that is not good enough. Took us by surprise but if there was a bigger variety of picnic baskets to choose from and more reasonable pricing list it will still be a good park to come to.
I had the most amazing wine tasting experience at Zevenwacht wine estate. The waiter Patrick was helpful, attentive and provided amazing customer service.
Beautiful estate but the customer service and food leaves much to be desired. Next to no vegetarian options on the menu that offers minimal nutritional value. Picnic baskets without imagination. Dont expect extra effort from the staff or kitchen.
If I could, Id give zero stars.Watch out for bedbugs!I had booked the honeymoon suite for me and my girlfriend and I sure am glad it wasnt your real honeymoon. The room itself is rather old, the aircon is rattling and there are a many bugs in the room. But worst of all, there seems to be bedbugs in the bed and the stuff ignores it.It has been now over a week and my leg still itches and is full of little stings.I have told the stuff to please check the bed and the answer was that they wont, because they never had a problem with bedbugs before. Also there are literally two holes in the wall.
Beautiful place, tranquil, quiet, food is great, wine tasting staff is absolutely great. Go for a picnic, a braai, a glass of wine or just a walk. The kids can play on the huge open areas and you can take in the splendour. Their wines are addictive I should add very addictive.
Fantastic property with an unbeatable view of Cape Town. The staff are beyond incredible and the food is cooked to perfection. We had all 3 meals of the day there. The rooms are also neat and well spread out over the estate.
Amazing experience, amazing staff, awesome views, magnificent spa experience. Great restaurant and Inn. An all together unforgettable time. Oh and the wine is just is WOW!!!
5 star hospitality from the waitresses. Beautiful and serene setting.
Unhappy... We booked a picnic for 2 for our anniversary and when we got there the picnic was never made by them and no one could asssit regarding the booking, a lady called Natasja took the booking and never written it down, booking was made in advanced. As we left we where called back and they told us they will accommodate us with a bottle of wine FREE and champagne to keep us from leaving. We had to settle with a cheeseplatter and sat in thrrestaurant where we wanted a picnic. We did not want freebies we wanted a picnic as we planned and booked, and was promised complimentary wine and champagne however we left and paid our full bill as we have would with nothing that was promised. Food is amazing however experience was very disappointing as we wanted a picnic. Service from our waiter was amazing, picnic booking was missed by someone. Note: Try to appointment someone that can do bookings properly.
6/5 stars. Perfect location. Great local wines, family friendly, dog trail running friendly and great vibe to the wine estate.
Best chicken burger I had in a loooong while. Great desert and coffee milkshakes too.The ambiance is calm and relaxed and very good to wind down.It is also extra special as there is a childrens play area and a helicopter landing pad
Beautiful yet very disappointing. We were studiously ignored by the few staff that were to be seen. Im not sure if theres a special procedure to follow or secret sign one gives to receive service. There were copious signs everywhere forbidding dogs, entry, photographs, food, drinks. Im sure I missed a few. Perhaps there were ones that forbade urinating on the porch, driving over guests in the parking lot, drilling holes in the wall with your own tools, who knows...Lovely setting. Non-existent service. Signs everywhere that basically say give us money or p*ss off.We left. Wont be back soon.
Beautiful venue. If you want to watch the show, avoid security with any inquiries because they are very disrespectful. The sound also cut out during the show. All round (disregarding the security, technical difficulties and expensive drink prices) the vibe is great and they cater for all ie disabled, children, teens and adults. All are welcome and will be entertained.
Lovely setting, you can eat at the restaurant or get a picnic basket to take anywhere you please - there is a lawn between the restaurant and pond with a separate bigger lawn with kids play area and adequate seating opposite the treeline. Restaurant service was fairly good; food was very nice but expensive. Will try the picnic option next time.
Quaint, beautiful setting. Good quality food. Nice staff
Very scenic. Good for an afternoon picnic next to the lake. Highly recommended.
Really wonderful return visit for my retirement party. Great staff: attentive and friendly but amazingly non intrusive. 👍👍👍
Nice venue for a concert, good food and entertainment. Some queueing at times for food and drink and some do run out. Otherwise good experience
Awesome experience. Food was to die for. Service was top drawer. Thank you
Best wine around. The tasting room is perfect.
Wonderful venue and some fantastic wines. Great for kids and picnics as well.
Really nice wine, but the service sadly doesnt measure up.
Lovely place for a pic nic... lovely food and great staff.... highly recommend it
Zevenwacht was well organised, absolutely spotless in the beaue garden and outside areas. Food lovely, service fast and charming, food delicious Cape cuisine. However, huge problem was sewerage overflow odour wafting in through window in our petite diningroom. So nauseating and pervasive I could not bear it and we moved outside.Sadly we were on the same side as the stream of sewage and once again had to move to the tight of front door on balcony. We reported it and it seems was a consequence of too many visitors in the Laps area the previous day. Well, hopefully next time no sewerage smells!Otherwise admirably run.I suppose one needs a friendly plumber on the books whos willing to come out at Christmas, because this really was an emergency...lunchtime, Christmas day, hundreds of guests!
Lovely setting for late lunch... and dessert... cheese cake that makes your tastebuds crave for more... and the Tin Cup is pure happiness in a bottle
What a lekker experience. Beautiful green surroundings . Friendly staff. Tastey food .warm atmosphere. Service great
Love this place. Great place for a wedding or catching up with old friends
Beautiful green lawns. Good food and picnic baskets.
The nicest staff in the world, character, humour and professional
Very Nice. Beautiful Venue. Perfect for kids as well
Great little spot. Even better with a Jess to share it with.
The kids love it here. Plus their wine is very good.
The nature!!!!! So much to see and do.Love it!!Recommend the wine tasting
A favourite of mine. Chenin wins hands down !
Wonderful restaurant on site - I had a delicious vegetarian gnocchi.
A beautiful venue sitting on a hill with the whole of cape town in front of you
I think a R160 for a buffet breakfast is a bit steep. And there is no other menu options for breakfast, so it is go big, or go home. The coffee can improve.
An amazing hotel. Looking forward to my stay here. Restaurant is excellent! Yum yum ;)
The wine, cheese and chocolate pairing was excellent. The views from the estate conference and Restaurant are breathtaking. The only thing lacking was the wifi signal which was virtually non existent.
Off-road between the vines was amazing the view up there is breathtaking
Friendly staff and great service at the tasting room. Lovely environment for some down time.
Tin Mines the best !!
Beautiful setting but Im not wild about their conference facility.
Great setting. Friendly staff and good food.
Awesome place, amazing experience, top of the range wine farm and restaurant, a definite must go
Top Notch Restaurant Food Picturisque Views an Kiddies Play den.
Highly recommend the wine tasting our hostess Zoliswa was very knowledgeable and friendly. The wines are incredibly good the Sauvignon blanc 360 being the favourite with us.
Nice views and location. Aweful, slow service at reception but especially the restaurant, where orders get mixed up, food takes a long time to arrive and there is no general understanding for special circumstances of the client on behalf of the staff. Such a pity...!
Friendly staff and worth the while going there
Beautiful views very serene..extremely romantic
Had a pre-booked office lunch. Food was good and staff were friendly.
Fantastic food and equally fantastic surrounds and views. Worth a visit
Wine tasting at its best, cheese pairings with each chosen varietal.
Great setting, but wine served outside with picnics are charged at restaurant prices.
Awesome event. Loved the show
Stunning Estate. The Voet of the Wine Route passes through this picturesque venue.
Beautiful setting. Kids over the picnic.
