I travel extensively mainly in North America and only make use of Holiday Inn hotels. This hotel is by far the highlight of all our stays. The staff are extremely well trained and super friendly. They will always seek for opportunities to assist customers and won’t stop until everything is fully resolved. The Manager is at all times approachable and will go out of her way to ensure an amazing experience. She is clearly the driving force behind the success of this hotel. The hotel is very well maintained and super clean. The staff went out of their way to ensure we remain safe during a very challenging phase of COVID-19. I can without a doubt recommend this hotel to anybody and I can assure you they never disappoint.

Im from Brazil and I stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Cape Town in 2019 when I visited the country with my grandmother, I was 17 and she was 64 at the time and we both have never been to Africa before. Today I realize how important is a feedback for a business and for the other people who looking for services or products. Our experience at this hotel was better than I could ever expect. At first I chose to stay there because it is a very famous company so I thought it was safer than booking that somewhere I never heard about. The hotel was not just safe, the rooms were also clean and comfortable, the breakfast was good, the location is great and the staff were the kindest people I have ever met. All of them still in our hearts and in our prayers because they were literally our guardian angels, always helping us with everything (since we didnt got by a tourism agency), giving us advices and making us company. I always tell everyone who ask me about my experience in Cape Town and the first thing I say is how the people are friendly. I remember one day me and my grandmother wanted to have something to eat for dinner but the restaurants normally were closed at 6 or 7pm so I thought about going to a McDonalds which was a 10 minutes walk, more or less, from the hotel; I asked to an employee the directions and instead of only telling me, he went to the McDonalds with me, taking care of me to not be robbed or anything bad, he waited for me to get the food there and came all the way back to the hotel with me, all the time being so kind and respectful. I couldnt thank him enough and all the staff for being so protective and doing more than their job asked for. Thank you so much for making our trip better and safer than it could be!

Comfortable hotel in a good location for a tourist. Excellent breakfast, helpful staff. Used the airport pick up service which was excellent,(well done Trevor). Security was very thorough, we witnessed the removal of two women posing as cleaners. Bar a bit expensive. Two good eateries 50 yards away. Hop on hop off bus stop 3 min walk. Only downside is a load of refugees were camped in the local square.

What a wonderful staff and experience this hotel provided! We were travelling for vacation in Cape Town and selected this hotel based on its central location. The staff, upon our check-in, were most gracious and welcoming! Not only did we win a fantastic promotional prize they also worked hard to ensure that we were satisfied with our room for the week. The breakfast was delicious and varied each day and the quality of food exceptional! Overall, an excellent choice worth your consideration. The only area I did not rate a 5 was room and comfort. Please be mindful that this is a city centre hotel so they do not offer deluxe suites with king-sized beds. The room was still quite comfortable and quiet, just not as spacious as some international guests might expect. Again, an overall excellent property with great location, price, staff, and value --and worth your consideration.

Central location with secure parking facilities. However, there is a refugee camp around the corner, which makes it extremely difficult to access the hotel by car. The parking staff are really friendly, but this did make us feel uneasy. We stayed 6 floors up and could hear normal conversations happening out oin the street with all windows shut. the hotel NEEDS to look at soundproofing windows better as this did impact our overall impression.breakfast is great and the variety was much more than we were expecting. the breakfast area is quite small, so id recommend getting there early to get a seat.Staff were friendly and helpful!

The Hotel is situated in a pedestrian area and is very central, just walking distance from Greenmarket Square and numerous restaurants, The Grand Parade, City Hall, The Company’s Garden and other historical sites. Staff at the front office (situated on level 1 of the hotel building) were very helpful and courteous – I was pleasantly surprised when they arranged for a breakfast take away for my wife and me when we had to leave early on the check-out day. So, very service oriented and supportive of guest requests – a definite plus. Note that the full payment for your stay is to be made on check-in. This appears to be the norm in the hotel industry in both Durban and Cape Town. The room was very modern and well organized and we had the benefit of a view of the Table Mountain from our window. All the usual amenities were provided in the room and nothing was found wanting. The bathroom was very well designed with separation of the toilet from the shower stall. There is a door that doubles as the door to the toilet and between the bathroom and room – a clever design! There is also a ‘blue’ nightlight in the bathroom which you may wish to use if you so prefer. The location is ideal as there is a Food Lover’s Market store right opposite the entrance – a must visit. Do be aware of closing times, though (6pm during our recent stay). The air-conditioning was perfect as was the Wifi which performed admirably during the period of our stay. There were also international plug sockets (besides local ones) in the room, so plenty of options to charge your devices. The Breakfast spread was good and there is a large seating area although the breakfast area does tend to get busy if you arrive around 8am or so (breakfast is served at 6.30am).Although there is no restaurant in the hotel you will find menu cards of a couple of nearby restaurants in your room and you can order for food which will be delivered to the hotel reception. You can choose to pay by cash or card but be sure to inform the restaurant so that they can send the delivery along with a credit card machine.A great stay in an excellent location with very customer supportive staff.

Found this hotel ideal for our first ever visit to SA. Its central city location makes it great to wander around to take in the various sights etc. The room we had 1506 was spotlessly clean, with the room being serviced daily. The shower has to be one of the best I have experienced, and certainly wakes you up first thing in the morning. All the staff are friendly, and helpful. The breakfast offered is very good, and should suffice the biggest appetites, however, I think they could extend the week day time to 10am. Also, the bar does not open until 5pm and closes at 11, which if youre on holiday is rather early. But these are two little gripes. Sadly, my 3 requests for face flannels (after they had been removed by the room maids) was never dealt with, so went into the market and brought one in the end.

The location of this hotel was perfect – it could not get any better! The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and we certainly felt like valued customers. We arrived very early, so we weren’t able to check in, but we were able to leave our luggage there until check-in time. The room was spacious and clean. There were a few minor issues with the bathroom, but they were very minor (one of the lights would continuously go off suddenly for a few minutes, and then go back on, the water in the sink didn’t flow well, and I had difficulty turning the tap in the shower to get hot water). The electrical outlets in the room were easily reachable, which is not always the case in some hotels. We were not able to go for breakfast, which started at 6:30am, because we were leaving for the airport at that time, so we asked the staff the night before for a boxed breakfast. When we checked out in the morning, 2 substantial boxed breakfasts were waiting for us.The odd thing about the hotel is that you have to go up one floor to access it (the reception is there); the ground floor is not part of the hotel. All in all, we had a great stay at this hotel, and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Since it was my very first stay at the Holiday Inn Express in St Georges Mall in Cape Town, I had my trepidations. I landed late, and as I was driving through, was nervous about parking since I had a rented car.All my fears were for nothing. As soon as I pulled in infront of the hotel, I was welcomed by the Concierge who offered to park my car for me while I proceeded to the check-in counter. The dinner was ordered for me and arrived minutes after I got into my room. The room was clean and spacious enough for a much needed desk with a lamp and connection points. I especially like the bathroom, because the toilet is totally separate from the bathing area. After a hot shower, with clean towels, I slept like a baby.

The disabled room only has one bed and the hotel staff was very kind to extend the room next door for my wife without additional charges. 3) Valet service. Since i am disabled, the valet was very helpful to help fetch and park my car all the time. It made a big difference to me. What can be better - I got the disabled room. It is a bit old but no major complaints only certain parts of the room is no sufficiently lighted. However the disabled toilet needs repair, water does not flow down into the floor outlet because part of the floor has sunk down and create a pool of water very quickly. Very annoying.

It was a great and excellent hotel very close to Cape Towns red bus tour station and close to some restaurants such Burger King, MacDonald, and Dunkin Donuts. The hotel has a warm and cozy feeling to it, with much of it being clean and arranged. A lot of the staff are always ready to assist and very friendly to chat with. Although I wish the bar could have sold tea, weather cold bottle tea or boiled tea, any tea would be awesome to have at evenings. The guest room was excellent upon entering it is very clean, and yes I did a little Hotel Impossible inspection, to be honest I was really stunned, also the room has a lot of different light sources even in the bathroom, a cozy mattress, and cool conditioner. There was also a TV there but we really didnt watch much, because hey theres WiFi, though youll have to sign up a membership to gain access, but still worth it because WiFi right! The only negative side to this hotel is that it does not have a mini fridge or microwave to keep something cold or warm up a food, and the tea-less bar which may be my opinion. Hopeful these will be added in the future.

A good hotel if you want to stay away from the more touristy waterfront area. Staff are helpful, and the guy that picked us up from the airport very late in the evening was very cool. Breakfast is ok, a standard buffet with limited options for vegans. Reasonable amount of fruit, but not much in the way of bread and cereals. They did provide soy milk on request, however. The room was clean and tidy, and on the quieter side of the building. If you’re looking out on to the market outside it may get pretty loud! The area feels kinda sketchy after dark, so probably best off taking Ubers if you want to go any further than Long Street.

Overall a very nice hotel along a pedestrian street with a lot of shops and restaurants that mostly close at 6PM. There is a nice Italian place across the street open late- try the onion rings! My only complaint about this hotel is that it is very difficult to find. The street address is along a pedestrian only (wait for it) street with little signage along the main roads encircling it. The only way to access the hotel front door and parking is to go down a one way street and enter through the pedestrian mall. Yes, you must pull on to the pedestrian mall to enter. There is a one-way street called Longmarket Street connecting from Burg to Adderley you need to go down and look for a green, metal trash can on the right. Just after the trash can you will see silver metal posts that you make a right between to enter a space in front of the hotel for drop off and to enter parking. GPS will tell you that the hotel is on your left once you make that left turn from Wale onto Adderley however there is nothing you will see to indicate that the hotel is there. Yes, you will get looks when doing this however I promise it is the only way to access. Once there the valet guys are FANTASTIC and understand completely your ordeal.I could not originally find the hotel so I parked in an adjacent building and walked around. Once I made it to the hotel and explained my situation the valet attendant walked with me to my car and rode back explaining the process.

Have no fear the hotel will meet standards, there is nothing wrong with the facility, this hotel is all about location and while centrally located it is totally surrounded by homeless families, beggars are everywhere and very bold. It is no exaggeration to say that 500 people are living in a shanty town right around the corner. To get to the hotel it was necessary to part the waves of homeless to the point where even the cab was unnerved. Granted this was at night but daytime saw them spread out yet still prevalent.

The staff were friendly, even joked with us, giving us a more home-like not just hotel experience. Once again I was attending a conference in Cape Town. There is no Intercontinental or Crown Plaza in Cape Town, so I though I would have to slum it in the Holiday Inn Express. But it is not quite slumming: it is an expedient and efficient hotel, a reasonable place to stay, a discrete hideaway and it is not so expensive. It serves its purpose when after a long day of conferencing one is tired and needs a good sleep. And then when one wakes up, one has reliable email to attend to the overnight chatter before having a cup of tea and a shower, and then attending a sumptuous breakfast. The sausages and bacon are real and there are lovely fresh pastries, and fruit and cereals. This is quite exceptional for a Holiday Inn Express and indeed this breakfast is better than that found in many Crowne Plazas! Then, as a conference goer when I urgently needed to print about 12 pages, I was directed to the little business centre: two computers in an alcove linked to two separate printers, and I was able print readily without passwords, charges or any other impediment. That was a nice complimentary touch. And when the taxis were not forthcoming, they got a hotel car to take me own to the Convention Centre - another nice touch. So the HIE Cape Town fulfilled all my needs neatly and without hassle and in nice human manner. And as for the gentleman who picked me up from the airport and waited patiently into the small hours of the morning as my flight from Joberg was late - that was wonderful service.

The hotel is centrally located and convenient, however we felt the area to be unsafe. We were followed on two occasions, a street rat try to steal my cell phone, another person tried to convince us we needed a voucher to buy fast food (apparently a ploy to get our credit card). St Georges Mall directly in front of the hotel is very interesting, the hop-on, hop-off bus is five minutes away. This property provides good value, and very good service. The rooms are basic, but you dont spend much time in them when you are in Cape Town. They are clean, and comfortable. The breakfast options are more than what you would expect for a property at this price point. While the hotel is centrally located, there are many eating and shopping options literally on the doorstep. If you need to go further afield, the hotel arranges pickup from the door. The breakfast had excellent choices and was delicious. Rooms were spacious, clean and very modern. Staff always went out of their way to ensure guests have a pleasant stay.Look no further if you are to visit Cape Town!

Excellent stay. The location is very central and convenient. Room is compact, but well decorated and maintained. Staff were warm and helpful. Free breakfast was provided and plenty of choices. There is no lunch or dinner on site, but there are many restaurants around, and you can call for food delivery to reception. Free wifi was provided, just get a voucher from reception. Valet parking for R60 per day, which I think is well worth it as parking is hard and tight in the area.

Another relaxing and pleasant visit to HI Express City Centre, Cape Town. I appreciate the central location and walking distance to all city features. The staff are fantastic and the free breakfast excellent. Thanks Yolanda for handling all my bookings and the prompt and professional efforts. Thanks also for getting me a room when the hotel was fully booked on one of the nights. The outstanding value is a bonus. All the staff are super responsive and friendly, and great to see a pro-active and approachable manageress! Newspapers are provided for all guests from breakfast area. Appreciate their special care of Spire Elite members. Thanks for the magnificent Table Top mountain view! Totally recommended as an IHG Holiday Inn Express Hotel, and looking forward to my next visit.

The staff become family members. Any information you need to know, they are willing to assist. My wife appreciate the cleanliness of the room especially the clean linen. The bed could be changed to queen size instead of double size beds. The breakfast consists of a variety of food.

The Hotel is situated in a pedestrian area and is very central, just walking distance from Greenmarket Square and numerous restaurants, The Grand Parade, City Hall, The Company’s Garden and other historical sites.Staff at the front office (situated on level 1 of the hotel building) were very helpful and courteous – I was pleasantly surprised when they arranged for a breakfast take away for my wife and me when we had to leave early on the check-out day. So, very service oriented and supportive of guest requests – a definite plus.Note that the full payment for your stay is to be made on check-in. Do be aware of closing times, though. It was 6pm during our recent stay. The air-conditioning was perfect, as was the Wifi which performed admirably during the period of our stay. There were also international plug sockets (besides local ones) in the room, so plenty of options to charge your devices. The Breakfast spread was good and although there is a large seating area, it does tend to get busy if you arrive around 8am or so. Breakfast is served at 6.30am.Although there is no restaurant in the hotel you will find menu cards of a couple of nearby restaurants in your room using which you can order food which will be delivered to the hotel reception. You can choose to pay by cash or card but be sure to inform the restaurant so that they can send the delivery along with a credit card machine.A great stay in an excellent location with very customer supportive staff.

The hotel was a good hotel well placed for going round Cape Town with very friendly and helpful staff. I think the rooms could be improved. bit eg 6x6 for double beds and a bathtub for soaking in after a long day sight or shopseeing.

I usually stay at Holiday Inn or Intercontinental so was not sure what to expect from Holiday Inn Express. I was pleasantly surprised. Clearly not a full service hotel but rooms are nice and facilities are adequate etc. I must mention what makes this hotel stand out is the exceptionally friendly and good staff! They are excellent and very attentive. This makes all the difference! Possibly the best and most friendly staff at a Hotel in a long time! The Hotel may not be 5 star, but the professionalism and friendliness of the staff from the reception to cleaning staff was what you would expect from a 5 star hotel! The staff could give a few good lessons to some of other staff at the 5 star hotels in the IHG group! While there is not a restaurant at the hotel, there is an excellent restaurant across the street so that this not a problem. The only small criticism would be at the express breakfast, it would be nice to have slightly fresher bread rolls, but other than that it is adequate.

We chose the Holiday Inn Express, Cape Town for its central location and close proximity to major attractions and amenities, as the perfect start to our golden wedding celebrations. We rate the hotel, within that range, as one of the best we have stayed in. The staff was friendly, helpful, kind and hospitable. Staff morale appeared to be high. We had the great experience of Holiday Inn Express in Cape Town during Christmas of 2015. From the taxi service to the staff to the managers, all performed with excellent customer service and attentiveness. All our needs and wants were met with accurate guidance and information and a hearty smile! Breakfast was second to none! Not only would we highly recommend this facility to anyone visiting, we would stay here again without hesitation. The location is perfect - a short walk to two nice restaurants and a nice stroll through and to the local markets for shopping.

We loved having a hotel to hop in and out at leisure at this great location. Its because of this primarily that we came back. Go out shopping and bring back the carry bags. Enjoy a sidewalk café and walk back for a snooze. Parliament and museums, the famous cobbled Greenmarket Square, tourist vendors are at your doorstep.

Holiday Inn Express provide the best hotel service. The staff is friendly and goes all the way to satisfy customers needs. The internet provision doesnt disappoint, always available and fast, only need to log on once and enjoy it the rest of your stay. To make improvement, might want to provide meals for the convenience of the guests because going out to look for dinner outside the hotel might be a little convenient. The effort by the hotel to make arrangements with nearby restaurant is acknowledged and appreciated. Keep up that good customer service.

My daughter and I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and found all members of staff to be very helpful, friendly and efficient. The desk staff were able to advise use about tours, where to eat, organising taxis and hire cars and answer any other questions we had about getting around Cape Town safely. The staff in the breakfast area were always friendly, helpful and welcoming. The staff who cleaned our room were efficient and fulfilled our requests regarding supplies for the room. The staff downstairs on the front door were always friendly and helpful. We had the holiday of a lifetime in your wonderful city and staying at the Holiday Inn just made it even better!Thank you. When we come back again we will definitely be staying at your hotel.

I am a long standing Priority Club Member so chose this hotel given no other alternative for Cape Town. This turned out to be a very sound decision given the hotels central location which enabled us to visit the many sights and museums within walking distance. All Duty Managers were excellent - we were upgraded on checking in and got a room on the 15th Floor with beautiful views of Table Mountain and Lions Head Mountain. Assistance from the Duty Managers related to care hire, sightseeing, etc was first rate.over our entire stay.Service staff at breakfast were also very courteous and daily breakfasts offered a reasonable range. The only drawback for us was the poor customer service from the valets downstairs one of which refused to drive our car from the hotel car park to the front entrance. His overall attitude was poor and he definitely requires brushing up on customer service. I forgot to get his name.Overall a very good stay and happy to return as also to recommend friends to stay here.

Excellent stay in the Holiday INN Capetown. Very central hotel. Staff pleasant and very attentive and helpful. The rooms are compact, very clean and maintained to a high standard. The variety of TV channels offered was excellent. The breakfast was excellent, the staff kept the area very clean at all times, replenishing with food continuously. One tip for any guests is to join the Holiday Inn membership to have continues internet access while staying in any of the Holiday INN hotels. JN - Ireland April 2017
