They make amazing French toast served with bacon, banana, cinnamon sugar, syrup and lemon curd. Their flat whites are amazing and they have a gorgeous view of the park and you can sit outside. This restaurant is now called Parks Edge.Update Jan 2021: not sure if the barista has changed but my last 3 visits all sported very disappointing flat whites 😭 and they used to be so good. French toast is still the best Ive had though - oh and Cals Eggs Benedict is also amazing with mouthwatering hashbrowns.

Had breakfast here with family. Food here is generally good. Great outdoor atmosphere. I had the spicy, tasty bratwurst which is well priced, served with ciabatta and chips but missing the sauerkraut.Breakfast burger is huge, and tasty, Bacon and egg sandwich on sourdough bread was average as was the French toast.Service a bit slow today, being a public holiday they appeared to be understaffed for the number of patrons turning up, but service with a smile is always welcome

Fantastic food and coffee with stunning views from outside. The staff are super friendly and you never feel rushed in anyway. The resident cats are probably the best feature though, they happily roam around and nap wherever they find a comfy spot. The cats are also more than happy to receive some tickles. My family was delighted to have Sam come sit on our laps almost the entire time we were there, his soothing purr whilst being tickled was awesome.

This venue has changed its name to Parks Edge. Very friendly waitress and a comprehensive breakfast menu. A pretty setting across the road from a park in Hatfield Village. Views of Table Mountain. A busy restaurant so if you in a hurry for a quick breakfast this is not the place. They take a while to get food out - as least an hour when they are busy. The menu is pretty extensive and you can also make your own which is great. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Outside seating is lovely for warm days. Inside seating is cosy and quaint with collections of eclectic items. Great ambiance for the romantic.

EVEN THO COMMERCIAL MOMS LOVE TO BE APPRECIATED - My daughter made a reservation to celebrate mothers day, which included granny for a table of six. The booking was for 10:30 as we were going for brunch. Our party admired all the quirky collectables as we waited to be seated but the host who apologetically told us that our table was still occupied - as they allocate a set time to each sitting and this tables food had taken longer. We were temporarily seated at a small table and ordered coffee - drank it and ordered brunch...granny was not happy! Once we moved to our table the food arrived and was enjoyable, the host and waitress attentive until we wanted to use the debit machine. The waitress was out of sight so I went to the counter to seek assistance... this is where the wheel fell off under pressure. The young lady who had been running meals to tables was the only one to ask and she loudly informed me, I am too busy your waitress will do it!. My daughter who was still at our table in the corner even heard the exchange. Just to say that when it is a special day the owner/manager should perhaps be present to keep his staff calm so that this one does not bite off my head at a simple request.. Overall we all had a lovely brunch but this was soured at the end. P.S. Some attention to detail - would be nice to wish the moms as they sit and perhaps even offer them a little sweet from the collection on sale x

Ill try to make this as brief as possible. It is no longer Cafeen its called Park Side. The outside is gorgeous the inside is cluttered and hoardish, it smells like an old wooden musky box you cannot breathe. Theres jars of sweets youre too scared to eat and it scares me to know how old the cakes are.The food:Large plate, small portion of scrambled egg and runny, hair on my plate with cream cheese as old looking as the building with purple spots in it.The service : very friendlyThe coffee: absolutely fantastic, however the presentation of sugar on my saucer is distasteful. My experience was a lack of lusterLimited parkingAbout R250-350 for two peopleMy opinion : I wouldnt come back for the food, but definitely for their coffee

A friend and I visited your coffee shop on Saturday morning, the food was good but our waitron asked us if she could bring the bill immediately after we had eaten, could we pay and move outside as she wanted to seat other people. Once we had paid she came back to us and asked us to please go sit outside. Due to this incident I would not want to come back to your place. We would liked to have sat and chatted and had another coffee but felt like we were being kicked out.

We were the only ones there one weekday morning, however food took forever to arrive. I ordered the croissant with bacon and Camembert but the Crossaint was quite tough and not fresh at all. I also think they are way overpriced and definitely not your moneys worth.
