Very nice place to enjoy a good coffee and delicious breakfast or sandwiches. The vibe is very good especially for bike love us and you always have some BMW motor bikes in front of the store.The only downside is that sometimes homeless people beg for food if you sit outside.

Zero points for effort on this eggs on toast breakfast. This scrambled eggs appears to be a chopped up fried egg. No butter on the toast, no seasoning on the eggs, dry and tasteless! And the bacon was an added extra!? Sis man. Took the meal back and the manager didnt bother to apologise nor were we offered a refund. I loved this place, but never coming back.

One of those small, long and narrow bars with high ceilings in the heart of the city center. Dark-wood interiors but adequately lit. They play some of the best tunes from the 1980’s. Mostly alternative music.Reminds me of downtown NYC. Has a cool motorbike shop tucked in at the back. You will see loads of tattoos and helmets but it really is not one of those kinds of joints.Love the Amber Weiss beer - which is always cold but does come in at a hefty R50 a pint. Always a couple of suits hanging around after work having drinks. One of the few place in the city where you will find proper Mount Gay rum.

Great atmosphere at any time of day. And great bartenders! Had an epic show going on as well. Only downside was the vienna sausage i bought was cold and ended up throwing it up later...

A really cool biker styled café with some super amazing hot chocolate and some nice light meals. A good place to meet people as the vibe is good for conversations. They have snapscan making payment easy and quick. Parking is no problem if you on a motorcycle however it can be problematic with a car. The entrance is wheelchair friendly however not the bathroom.

November 2019 - we stopped in with Cape Fusion Tours & what a fun place! We visited with Brian & imbibed in an old fashion cocktail as well as an espresso martini.

Very cool establishment with super friendly, helpful staff. My wife and I were there last night for a drink, and she fainted out of the blue and whacked her head on the floor. Within seconds she was assisted by a doctor who was having a drink next to us. The kind doctor helped stabilize my wife and get her standing again. The staff were amazing, checking up on us while we sat outside. Really appreciate the concern and good vibes.

Nice vibe and friendly staff. There are live bands playing weekly. The music covers anwide variety of genres, from hard rock to jazz. The biker theme suits it well and you will always see motorcycles parked outside. Dont bother trying to park there with a car. You will never find parking.

I found the service poor and the drinks overpriced. It is true they have some amazing cocktails and spirits, but I found the fact that they refuse to serve sugar free coke or salt with a tequila shot needlessly pretentious.

House of Machine attracts an eclectic bunch- good coffee, great artisanal barstaff to whip up a classic cocktail or something unique *one of the best old-fashioned in town. Good spot for after work drinks or a cold pint on a hot day. Open mic nights some nights for musos and the like. Great spot right in the heart of the CBD.

Maybe it was too busy but no one even bothered to explain the setup to me. 🤷

Bar service was EXTREMELY slow..... and when we finaly got help at the bar it took around 20mins to get our drinks (2 cocktails and 1 beer). There is only 1 toilet cubical which is fine if you are willing to share with men and women and if you dont mind waiting long. Music is great and the vibe a awesome.

Aggressive incompetent violent bouncer part of Cape Towns club sceneWhat is boils down to is a beautiful night in Cape Town spoilt by an overly aggressive bouncer that threw me to the floor to leave.. I had to invoke the CCID Cape Town police force they have an emergency number to for assistance. I had a wonderful evening dancing spoilt by someone who basically threatened to kill me.Even after CCID arrived the aggressive violent bouncer refused us to see management. Ce la vie, management apparently doesnt have control.AVOID AT ALL COSTS PARTS OF CLUB VIOLENCE IN CAPE TOWN

Depends on your age and disposition. Funky and upbeat but way too young and immature crowd for typically sophisticated drink fare. The old fashioned bourbon is incredible. Setting awesome.....but not the crowd for old farts like me.

Great music and gritty atmosphere. Looks like it has been there forever but it is relatively new. One of the few spots that offers live music. Seating indoors or out there seems to always be a great crowd.

Nice venue decorated with cafe racer bikes here and there (custom garage at the back so makes sense). They offer very nice cocktails. They also have live bands during the week.

A tad pricey but the coffee is a good blend, a more gentle roast with little acidity. The bagels are really nice too. Staff is attentive and friendly.

The place has great vibe and awesome music. Theres an excellent drinks menu but the service gets very bad when the place is crawled, usually on Friday nights.

If youre not a craft beer fan then this is not the place for you. Seating outside is uncomfortable and you will constantly be badgered by beggars. Quite pricey aswell.

Kind off strange but what a great vibe with smooth cocktails!! Little bit noise some nights because of the live entertainment, so dont go there if you dont want to shout and you actually want to have a conversation. We still had a lovely night.

Rowdy but a very cool vibe and great live music, drinks and food. Dont expect to find seating. Youll mostly be standing/on your feet.

Nice vibe, aesthetically pleasing, lovely venue and location. Service from the bar was slow though and they only have 1 sole toilet for all patrons, which is a real pain, especially when they have live bands. My friends and I literally left the venue, to go use the washroom somewhere else and then stayed there.

Went to an open mic night on a Tuesday evening and thought it was such a spectacular evening. Cool set up. And the barmen were incredibly accommodating with non-drinkers.

I love their dark and stormy cocktails, husband loves their old fashioned and negronis. Its just a relaxed bar with people who are there for a good chat and a beer, love that people bring their dogs and sometimes a baby and its no fuss. That being said, its not a area for toddlers or children being in town just off Bree.

Awesome bar, with lots of great bands playing all the time. Usually a fan favourite of mine, despite their one bathroom que. But drinks are highly overpriced these days and not always the best tasting (e.g. R80 for dbl G&T, tasted like flavoured tap water).
