You would expect excellent service from this store given the location but the employees clearly were not trained or just dont care. I was misinformed that I should call the insurer to block my phone and provide an ITC number for my lost phone. The insurer says they only process claims and telkom has to block the phone and provide the ITC. Now thats extra time and money for me to head back to canal for the same thing

We waited in line and when we should have been called, the assistant decides to take a leisurely stroll through the store and chat to his co-workers. Finally he goes back to his counters and calls us, after explaining what we require to be done he rambles on. I asked the question three times (CAN YOU HELP US RESOLVE THIS HERE?) before he actually gave me an answer. He then said he can log a fraud case, which he proceed to do (seems like it took an eternity), he then wrote down a case number on a piece of paper and handed it us saying someone will contact us. HOW??? He didnt take any of our contact information down besides my husbands ID. This is the reason why customers stay with the more expensive networks.

I am so upset at service here and the wrong information I was given. I was told I cannot upgrade my 20 GB contract to unlimited and have to create a new different contract. I have to close old contract meaning paying for the router as well as cancellations fee. Today I called telkom to cancel and I am told that it could have been upgraded. Now I have two contracts, have to close one with cancellation fee. People in this store have no knowledge of the service, rather call telkom or go to CBD.

Cannot recommend this particular store. When sales people tried to take advantage of, rather than help my pensioner parents. Issue was resolved with store. But only after high levels of stress and a second return visit. Because obviously one cannot call the store to sort out anything.

If I could rate zero stars I would.Pathetic customer service, There is no number you call them with and the number online does that even work. So if you want to get all of them you have to go in store. I was first promised a 10 MB per second line and they assured me that it would be this way but when they came to install the line I only got 0,5 mb. which is pathetically slow I tried to get in contact with the technicians but no one could help me when they eventually came and identified that the problem is with the line and they said it would not be beneficial for them to replace the line. They eventually said that they would get in contact with me about different packages that I should consider but No one has contacted me yet and I’m not wasting all my hard earned money going into that store againAnd telkom please do not comment on this reveiw and say you will do better in the future because there is no proof yet that you would.

Never anyone to ever pick up a telephone... so no way of getting hold of them unless you go into the store... then when you get into the store, then they dont have stock of the new phones.... what a waste of time to drive there for no reason.... pity there is no zero stars

A Team leader the called Wayde gave me so much attitude and told me that am waseting time blocking 🚫the line, he took down my details and never emailed me.Telkom says I owe them 10k because the previous month they fail to deduct the amount due to them and charged me rejection fees, whereas I had sufficient funds in my account.

Very long wait, been more than an hour, still waiting, only 2 consultants helping, over 8 tellers.. Only 3 customers in the store incl myself 😠😠😠😠 its like they dont know whats going on, or where my order its my worst mistake ever choosing them as my ISP its my 4th time at the shop, im still not sorted. Very bad service from the moment i step foot in the shop, the lady at the door direct me to a teller to have a seat,had to sit long there nobody attends you they walk up and down looking good but they dont know what the hell is going on. Furious!!!!

Can you believe that this Telekom outlet does not have a telephone!!!!!!! You cannot contact them although they have website that suggests they have a land-line. On enquiry we were advised that this has been the case for the last 2 yearsythi g and they have not yet changed the website!!The reason is that they are a. walk in facility!!!???!!!. I have never heard anything so patently rediculous.

Since I cant get through, via the contact number, to the store or someone to speak to about my phone repairs, this seems like the only way to contact you without wasting petrol by driving to your store.On the 11th September my husband and I took my phone in to be repaired. It is insured and all it needed was for l the cracked screen to be replaced. Since the phone was taken out under his name he handled everything with the consultant. Carlo (the consultant) told him that it will take 14 working days for my phone to be fixed. On the 1st October (13th working day, 20 days since telkom has my phone) I asked my husband to follow up since we havent received any feedback from Telkom or the insurance. He was then told that Carlo forgot to let him know, the day after we took the phone in, that the claim was rejected because it showed on their system that the phone wasnt insured. It issue was cleared and received an sms the following day that the phone was booked in.2 weeks later (14th October) received an sms saying that the claim was rejected again. Immediately after that my husband received an email saying that he should ignore the sms because the phone was sent to the wrong repair centre. And only then was it sent to the insurance.Ive been without a phone for almost one and a half months now. It has been extremely inconvenient. I am also currently on the last of my pregnancy so should anything at home while he isnt home I dont know how Im going to get hold of him. And I dont think that it would be fair to him to buy another phone because I wasnt supposed to be without a phone for this long.The least you can let me know is by when Ill be getting my phone back.

Will never use Telkom or use this store again, staff are uninterested and can provide zero solutions/or the staff that can help have clocked off before 5pm. I have been to your store 5 times in the last 5 days to rectify a cancellation of my account to which each so called “solution” has resulted I me having to come back to the store due to more mistakes on Telkom’s side. You have wasted my time, my money all because your employees haven’t done their job properly!

Be very weary of of interaction with this company. Purchased airtime...both all networks and telkom minutes and not able to make any calls. I queried it twice at this store and still no response yet. I have almost 3000 free telkom minutes is still available but I cant use it. Cancelling my contracts with them.

Not a difficult customer but they lack simple customer care. One of the assistants informed us that once our data contract was approved we could collect the router. We went out of our way to collect the device to be told that the assistant who helped us didnt tell anyone where the sim was so in short we did not receive our device. We asked to speak to the manager he didnt even come close to speak to us. Simple customer care... In future communication is key tell more than one person, leave a note etc.Hope this is not a sign of the service at Telkom.

Good morning,My contract device that has been returned to this store still reflects as active under my accounts, I requested a cancelation as the consultant who assisted me created a new contract instead of an upgrade, the device was returned on Tuesday which was day 4 within my 7 day cooling of period, but still you guys have not done the cancelation. I am highly disappointed and dissatisfied with the level of service, I was told over the phone I would get an email stating you had recieved the contents till this day no email, no response from the consultant who assisted me as well. Even worse the supposed direct line does not go through to store, and as I am out of town I have to send someone to you guys in order to get assistance, you were given my details several times but no one reaches out.

How about installing a line where you can actually speak to a real life person and not some automated response that does resolve the reason for your call?You provide the option to check stock and then the option is not available as one of the choices... I refuse to drive to the store to check availability of a product?As a long time Telkom Mobile customer I am not impressed! Wanted to add two additional lines to my contract ... maybe I should rather try Cell C or MTN instead? (My experience with Vodacom was even worse...)

A well designed shop that I have used on a many occasions to purchase new telecommunication services and devices. Always had very good service. Unfortunately, due to the demand, the queue can get very busy. They even helped me set up my adsl modem in the shop.

The worse service I have ever come across, the disconnect between front desk assistance and back office is ridiculous. The inability for front desk staff to be able to pick up a phone and find out information for a customer is just exhausting. Mentally you must be prepared as though you going to Home Affairs when walking into this store. Staff forgetting to email documents so you must wait even longer than they had initially made you wait. I am talking as their customer, had I known I would have gone else where.

Had an extremely bad experience with unaccommodating staff and customer service after I drove 30min rushing to get to the store in the hope of them closing at 9pm and staff seated inside on their phones refusing to help us after I had a telephonic crisis. I called all day trying to get through to them to check in about opening times and stock availability and could not reach them directly. As a result of “national lockdown” they closed at 6pm and had no updates on google to indicate that they already have implemented shorter operating hours. I’m so angry and disgusted.

If I could give them a negative 5 rating I would. Theyre outright criminals. Telkant deliberately make it close to impossible to close a telephone account, billing you all the way for as long as they can, sending you on endless quests to go online and produce XYZ documentation, only to tell you when the process (big surprise) doesnt work that you must do the same process in-store (I visited them more than 10 separate times and spent countless hours online). The staff in this store smile sarcastically at you when you inevitably complain to their faces, knowing perfectly well what youre going through. Disgusting company, and a foul, detestable store. Should be criminally charged for fraud.

Terrible customer service. Applied for a land line 8 weeks ago. Phoned Telkom to ask the status of my application. The application was not filed. Attempted to apply via the customer care line. They couldnt find my address after half hour of searching. Was unsuccessful in submitting the application because the call assistant cant find my address. Very frustrating. Its easier to buy drugs in South Africa than to get Telkom to actually do their job. Pathetic.

I had to go into the shop because no one ever answered the phone, and I asked for my account to be cancelled / closed at the start of the month (January 2015) because I left South Africa and moved to Namibia. I was told that I would have to wait 30 days and then someone would phone me to confirm that it should be cancelled. However, I would not be in SA when they phoned. The lady at the shop said she would make a note for them to email me rather but I have no faith that they would (and of course they havent). So the lady said she would try escalate it and I should email or phone her directly in a week (she gave me her business card). A month later, she is still not answering my calls. She replied to one email asking for my ID and then since then has not replied to any of my subsequent emails over the last 2 weeks. When I call the generic Canal Walk Telkom store number it is the same story, no one ever answers the phone!!I cant call the 081 number from outside SA and when I do phone the international customer care number and route through to cancellations, of course I always get an automated message saying this department is experiencing high call volumes. 5 times I have waited on the phone for an hour and then when someone does answer it suddenly dies, as if they just cut the call.Therefore, overall, this Telkom experience has been an absolute nightmare, but it is ESPECIALLY frustrating how this store never ever ever answers the phone or replies to emails.

Pathetic, slow service. Been waiting 7 days so far for them to do a simple credit check. The queue is always extremely long with only 2 out of the (looks like at least 6 employees) working there busy attending to customers which takes about 15 - 20 minutes per customer.I returned the next day, seems that the person they assigned the case to is on leave and my case will only be attended to once he comes back from leave. BTW nobody at Telkom has their contact details, except for the manager who was asked to phone them but has not come back to the person helping me so she cant give me any direct answer.UPDATE : 2017/07/17Slow as usual. There is 3 employees at 3 different counter doing absolutely nothing. Even with their new ticket system they still dont seem to have a clue what is going on. My stopwatch just clocked 7min 30sec and my ticket is still 3 positions away from being helped. Finally got helped at 15min 2sec

Probably the wors experience I ever had about something I returned within 2 months of purchase. Bought 2 pairs of wireless Bluetooth earphones as Christmas gifts. The items proposed were supposedly the best in store and that is what I went for. Both these items gave problems within the first month, but I only managed to take it back to Canal Walk in Feb.The store never phoned me back to inform me if the issue was resolved or if the warranty would be honoured. I went back in March only to be told that one of the units would be replaced and the warranty of the second one would not be honoured due to a scratch or something on the earphones. Anyway the worst is, no one could find the replacement pair or the supposedly damaged pair. Furthermore no-one could supply me with the name of the Representative who made the call on the second pair of earphones. The Telkom customer service agent promised to phone me with the details, its now a month and a half later and still no reply from them. I made numerous phone calls to the number given to me and the other number I could find, but were not able to reach anyone, cause no-one is picking up the phone.

No help whatsoever. I explained my problem about missing data. Jo-rushka Harris advised me to go back home and put my sim in my phone as the Telkom app is unreliable. That didnt do anything for me. I hung on the line with Telkom after my visit and finally Khanyiso managed to log a case for me as he could pick up that something went wrong.

Very pathetic service. Firstly you cant contact the store direct and have to rely on emails from your staff which doesnt work. I went to telkom canal walk to open a business account as I need a cellphone for communication for my business. I took all my paperwork and was assisted by Maggie Reneke on 18 May 2019. She said there was a problem with my business profile as this was not done properly with another consultant instore at N1 city. She indicated she would try and sort it out. I had to contact her all the time to find out whats happening and then only got a reply on 21 may that the company must be vetted and she will respond in 72 hours. Ive mailed her several times after the 72 hours and she is not responding. I need the phone for business purposes and telkom is delaying it. Its 8 days later! More than the expected 3 days. Its If I dont get an answer I want it canceled and will take up vodacoms offer
