HiOn 14/10/2021 I went to the iStore at Canal Walk and met with the support chaps to get assistance with my iPhone X which fell in water while I was fishing in Still Bay.As a tourist visiting South Africa from England, I thought I would be treated humanly though I was been warned that in Cape Town indigenous people are marginalised and subliminally treated unfairly.The chap behind the counter in front of the gentleman wearing a white top no only belittled me, he spoke at me rather than to me, he treated me like I am unlearned person.I asked if this iStore is a reseller and he had the nerve to say “if you look on the walls you will see iStore written on it and not Apple”. I mean really is that how you treat someone who spends money at your store in order for you to earn a living?If this was the U.K I would not have to go through such terrible customer service where I am being told that you have to produce proof of payment in order to get assistance. I have used the iStore in Reading U.K on numerous occasions and never asked to produce proof of payment to get my phone or MacBook repaired. I simply gave the the serial number which allowed their system to pick up if I have AppleCare or not.With that said, I would like it know that the chap behind the counter in front of the gentleman wearing a white top is standing is rude, condescending and doesn’t deserve to be the face your customers come across at your store.

Staff well identified and trained. If it is out of their scope they quickly get someone to give you the answers you need.For people wanting to get contract deals on phones, laptops or tablets, the cover most of the networks, so if your network doesnt have a deal for you, go directly to iStore and get what you need.

Hi. Had a horrible experience at canal walk store. We tried to do an upgrade on 3 seperate occasions. When we were finally assisted on the third occasion and after waiting for over an hour (after being assured they were able to perform the update) again we were asked to come the following day even though the store was still open for another hour. The manager and staff were unapologetic and had no remorse after not assisting us for the 3rd time. I will never sit foot in this store again.

I dont even think this store deserves 1 star! I have received such terrible service at this store. Both the manager and some of the staff members are highly incompetent. Tried 3 times to do an upgrade and actually got turned away by the Manager on duty after waiting a very long time to be assisted. The service received at Cavendish and The Waterfront is definately more professional.

Came into store to purchase a new iPhone, and no one even bothered to help. When I went to ask for help, they said they were busy and will find someone to help us. We roamed the store for about 10min waiting to be helped. Ended up leaving the store and bought a phone at Vodacom.

Why I would never buy an Ipad ever again. I havent used my Ipad 3 for about a month. Opened my bag today and found this. With not a single device I have ever had a problem with a swollen battery like this. Cracked the screen and the digitizer too.Honestly it has put me off in buying an Apple Device. Our Samsung tablet is far older than this and never had any issues. Clearly terrible build quality trying to be sold off as premium.

I have an iPhone 12 with a cracked screen. Went to iStore Canal Walk for a repair, but they can’t do it as they have no screens in stock. They can only order my screen once I have booked my phone in as it is seen as part of the ‘repair/sale of screen’ and therefore I have to leave my phone with them for minimum 3 days. (My problem here is: due to the store not wanting to carry stock of screens, the customer is inconvenienced) Reason: my phone is too new. They can’t keep screens. Firstly, in 2021, who copes without a phone for 3 days (we literally use it to work on) and secondly, with the rate of identity theft, how come this service isn’t provided in-front of the customer in the way that some cellular repair shops do? It’s Apple! One would expect it to be the best service available.

The worst experience ever the manager was horrible and racist , didn’t want to help or assist my item was under warranty in-fact just purchased 2 days ago, they claim that they ran a test on it and it’s working fine yet it wasn’t and still NOT working fine, he didn’t want even to fix it or replace it ,he was so rude and unpleasant to speak to unprofessional, APPLE SUPPORT in chat said they will repplace it yet nothing happens, chatted again and they advised to go to a different location as this one wasn’t helpful, Will they gonna replace it! I am so disgusted and disappointed in the service i received from istore canal walk, i went into this store a total of 4 times with no help received, terrible service, noetiquette, very rude. A gentleman bald gentleman tattoos unprofessional and extremely rude. Junaid Devilliers very unhelpful didnt do any follow up about the contracts i wanted to open with them made me wait a month when he said he would follow up in two weeks.

A 1 star because you exist. Well stocked, clean store, unhelpfull. Not because of emotiins or anything, just because I got to another iStore (which I will review) that actually went the extra distance for me, a client, because I have their product. Having an attitude and ego gets you no where. It does get you bad reviews and you decrease in popularity and turnover to the favour of an iStore that has a different focus.No stress, I can only give 1 bad review, and you wont get my money again.Management, take note.

Great experience, was greeted by manager upon entry and offered assistance immediately. Struggled a bit with porting my number from MTN to Telkom. During this the salesman provided more information and I discovered that staying with Telkom would be the better option. He changed from MTN back to Telkom without any hassle or complaining. Really appreciate the great service, this will be the reason for me always returning to this iStore for future updates!!!

Terrible unfriendly service from the technical department... There is an air that stinks of arrogance from Mr blue eyes. Zero smile zero helpful attitude. They looked at my iPhone XR that wouldnt start up and said I there is nothing they can do and I will have to get a new phone... I said thanks the took it to A one cellular in Montague Gardens where Malik was super helpful and replaced the battery for me. Dont even wast your time with Istore... Go to A One Cellular in Montagu gardens if its broken and not under warranty. Good luck

I received an iPhone 12 from a relative before the launch date in South Africa. I brought it to the iStore in canal walk for help. The staff were very friendly although the store was admittedly not that busy. I initially saw Luka and a young lady assistant. Although the phone is not yet available in SA the helped me with the extras I needed which were available.Then they passed me on to Troy who helped me transfer data from an old phone which was complicated by their being different versions.All 3 were very professional and helpful and as good or better than what I have received in iPhone stores in New York.It was amazing considering service is not great in many establishments in our country.

Misinformation about Apple care+ is going to cost me R431 more!I bought an iPad 8th Gen beginning of December. It was exceptionally crowded and getting help was difficult. I bought an iPad and glass protector. When we asked if we needed to buy apple care+ the man said we didnt need to that day we could come back later. Apple.com states you have 60 days to buy icare+.I went to iStore Tygervalley and they would not sell me the card for coverage. When I asked to talk to the manager I was told no I could not speak to the manager, they would not sell it to me. When I told them apple says you can buy it within 60 days they said were not Apple.I was going to upgrade my phone from android to Apple but I have decided I wont buy from any istore ever. Not only that but Im going to convince my family and friends Android Huawei is better and you dont have to deal with an istore ever again.

I was at the iStore last week, i needed to do an MTN upgrade but no staff were available, Caleb assisted me with sourcing all of the documents and checking stock while I waited for a member of staff who could assist me with MTN, he ended up educating me on a few apple products and I am so so happy with my purchases , will definitely be back at the Canal Walk branch and asking for Caleb next time i need assistance.

My Apple Watch Series 3 screen cracked around the entire edge without being dropped or bumped. I went onto Apples website where they acknowledge that this is a problem with series 2 and 3 and it can be replaced free of charge. I then booked it in to be evaluated only to be told that due to a less than 1 mm piece of glass being missing in the corner they can not cover it and will not repair it. I was then given a number to call by the employee to speak to apple call center directly only to call the number and be told that this is only for stores to call for assistance and not the public. Ive had numerous Apple products over the past 10 years but due to this poor service and ridiculous rejection of a clear product defect I will no longer be an Apple customer.

Nightmare experience in my lifeThursday on 26th November went to canal walk I-store then saw that priced down for iPhone11 regular price 14999 and black Friday offer 8999. Wanted to buy on the same day same time but one if the person say they dont have stock and putting me on wait list. Today 29th November went to store to find out how long do I have to wait for it. I wanted to surprise my wife on 2nd December for her birthday. I was surprised that they say that was not on special ever. Even I was asking them is it really going for 8999. On the day they say yes but today its different story....

When the Apple Store in New York carefully assesses your device and assures you its covered by their warranty AND they look in their system and assure you your local iStore will repair it, you think, great! But then you get to the iStore and the first thing they say is, thats not our problem or we arent the Apple Store. Thats when you know that you will receive poor customer service and are dealing with a business that cares nothing about upholding the Apple brand or its amazing customer service. If you buy an Apple product in South Africa, beware.

Honestly have never experienced such terrible service from multiple staff. I had to wait an hour and twenty minutes outside the store to collect a contract phone. Only to be let in the store and wait a further fifteen minutes to be told that they cannot find the phone. It’s shocking. They finally found the phone. Then staff disappeared. I am now considering only ever purchasing android.

Very helpful staff, they were very very friendly and made sure my needs were met. I first made an appointment with Cavendish and when I arrived for scheduled time (after travelling from Muizenburg) I was told that they couldnt recognized my appointment on their system so they turnt me down.The next day I went to Canal walk and when I arrived (before scheduled time) they attended to my needs with great enthusiasm.Thanks to the staff and management for their excellent customer service.

Appalling service, I went in today to buy something; I stood there asking and waiting for help almost 20 minutes. No assistance and the worst part is to see other people who don’t look like me walking in and all of a sudden someone is available to assist them and even have time to chat to them.After about 25 minutes I had enough and I walked out and all of a sudden someone offers to help me proving that they were fully aware of my presence all the time. I left without my purchase.The worst customer service ever, Istore Canal Walk don’t deserve my money if I don’t deserve their service.Be prepared to spend your day there, the other customer was right , take your lunch box with you.

Its such a massive shop that is just pointless as it is under staffed. It took so long to ring up a few items (which is understandable as there just isnt enough staff or maybe the staff is just useless but the young man I spoke to was very knowledgeable on apple products.) Really impressed with the service I received from Daniel as well as the repair team. Had problems with my iPhone camera and it had to be sent in for repairs. Sent it in on Tuesday and it was ready for collection on Friday! I understand that the turnaround time is often beyond the repair teams control as it is not their fault if they are waiting for parts to be sent but they really tried from their side to speed things up. Thank you for that.

If I could give zero (or a negative) I would. I spilt water on my macbook pro, tried phoning the number given on the website and went around in a circle until the automated customer care line redirected me back to the website. Hunted for the booking page for 15 minutes and paid R600 to have it assessed, but not without being told almost immediately that I might as well buy a new one, so you know their priorities lie in just making a quick sale. The cherry on top was after paying for an assessment was they couldnt complete the assessment, so I wasted going out during the lockdown and my money. I get you guys are one of the only resellers, but it really would not hurt to operate like a normal business with people you can talk to.

Absolutely useless. They do not have direct lines. Nobody follows up with you. Understaffed. Manager on the phone at the back while I stand and wait. Core Group has seriously brought down the Apple brand in South Africa.The manager - Werner Opperman - had me waiting 20 before he got off the phone. And I am the unhappy customer and he decides it is okay to give me attitude.The few staff members that are there all have an “I can’t do that” attitude.ABSOLUTELY USELESS!

The shop is the closest to an official Apple store that you can find, very similar to official shops as in New York or Dubai, just with less items. There is couches to hang out, tables with chairs and different colourful aisles with the products sorted in a organized way. They stock most of the products of Apple, from headset and phone cases to iMac laptops and iPhones. I recommend visiting the shop even if you are not a Apple customer or dont plan to buy anything, but just to have the experience of the shop only.

Standing in line waiting, with only two workers at service desk. Ridiculous. 3 People in line left, not willing to wait any longer. Went the iStore after calling their central call centre, who advised me that a battery repair could be done on site, but not be booked before hand, and that I would have to take a chance that they even had stock! I was informed by the service agent that iPhone 5s battery repairs are not done on site and take 5 days. I consider this unacceptable and the agents were extremely unhelpful... Will buy all my new products at Digicape from now on.

The worst experience ever! They took our phone in for an assessment and quote - charged for it! Called us the next day to discuss with technicians and when we arrived (on a Sunday) found out the info they gave us was wrong. No technicians work Sunday apparently. Their manager Werner was most unhelpful- probably the reason why the culture of the store is ‘avoid helping customers as best you can’. If you come here, bring your sandwiches and a tent if you have handy- it’s gonna be a long camp! Terrible terrible experience! Apple I hope you’re getting your retailers - this one, your supposed flagship store, sucks!

I wanted to back my brand new mac (I just bought) up to be told we dont do that, although every other iStore I went to says they do. Service knows nothing here: They told me my unreaponsive iPhone couldn‘t be saved and I had to go online to learn there IS a so-called recovery mode which i used together with iTunes to fix my phone myself. Took half a day but i‘m writing this now ON THE PHONE THEY SAID WAS DEAD.Wow, probably wanted me to buy a new one. Haibo! Never
