We rented for 25 days and had a good experience overall. The car owner met us personally at the airport and collected the car personally again--great service! Our car needed a service and we have recommended that RentMyRide make proof of this a condition of supplying a vehicle. Despite this, we liked renting in this way and would do it again.

Up to 40% cheaper than traditional companies ? What an outrageous claim. Really you guys need to remove this... simply not true. Check Hertz.... first car rental... all same price or even cheaper with much much newer cars.

Brilliant idea! Cheaper rates than ANYTHING else that I could find out there, I can pay by debit card (BIG PLUS for me) and their system and service is top notch.... I am SUPER impressed.

If there was a zero stars Id give that. Completely unprofessional, rip off, they only cover up to R150k insurance if you car is worth more than that its your problem, and an extra expense for you to take out additional commercial insurance. Charl who works there is an absolute disgustingly rude person with no customer service skills, rude to customers, no manners, has no clue what hes doing. Not an asset to the company. We have left due to him and so has others. He insists that you are not allowed to rent your car out through anyone else or privately if your car is listed with them, they have to be entitled to commission as if they own the car. Greedy pigsRather use a normal car hire thats cheaper, less hassle, youre fully covered, more professional.

Ive both rented out a vehicle and made use of other vehicles listed by RentMyRide. Its a great idea and a very useful service. Like anything in life, caveat emptor - in other words, if you read the paperwork and keep to your end of the bargain, everything will be fine. I once waited a few days longer than expected to get my deposit back, but I definitely recommend RMR and I will use them again in future.

As a vehicle owner my vehicle was damaged and severely stained on the inside on its first rental. Turned out that the renters friends were also driving the car without my knowledge. RMR fully paid for the cleaning of the vehicle and for all the repairs that needed to be done. The online booking systems work very well. Only thing i would recommend is a more strict renter screening process. When your vehicle gets damaged by someone who doesnt care about your car the time costs of getting it fixed is enormous.

Rent my ride is the best...few weeks ago I rented one of the cars from them and everything went so smoothly from the payments,communication and delivering of the car.If you wanna rent cheaper I would recommend rent my ride.Keep up the good work.

I liked the idea of Airbnb for car rentals but unfortunately my first experience with rent my ride was also my last!1. Like other reviews said, getting back my was deposit an unpleasant surprise to say the best! While its stated on the website the deposit will be reversed 7 days after returning the car, more than 20 days had passed without a sign of the deposit. Only after I contacted the customer service I was informed that the owner had claimed a burn damage to the vehicle and R1850 was deducted from my deposit 3 weeks after I returned the car! While owner could file a damage claim within 24 hours after the car was returned, as a renter, youll not be informed of such claim by Rent My Ride and any claim could be taken off of your deposit without any notice. Theres no protection for the renters in place if they miss any existed damage in the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle never responded to any questions about the vehicle after the car was picked up, talking about customer service!2. Unlike Airbnb, the renter has no idea where the potential rental car is located, my rental car happened to be 1.5 hours drive away from where I stayed!3.the rental price is nowhere near up to 40% cheaper than big name car rentals, the price difference is insignificant plus those lower priced cars on Rent My Ride are usually more than 10 years old with daily mileage of only around 80 Km while from big name car rental you can get decent new cars with unlimited mileage for not more than 5%.do the calculation.

Seriously... comprehensive cover has an excess of R5k, and even a minor buffable scratch will leave you out of pocket! Even if an insurance claim isnt put through! Total rip off, so many scammers, avoid like the plague - they dont follow their own rules and requirements in any way, shape or form. CPA time?
