Be visiting for years to take photos of the rust buckets that are artfully placed outside! There is something for everyone because indoors there is a huge collection of mint condition classic cars too. The owner is a total gem, in his 80s and still finding immense pleasure in the art of collecting and restoring. I prefer Winter/Spring to visit when the moss and grasses are out in amoungst the beautiful wrecks outside.
Nice private owned place.Plenty rusty old cars and trucks outside,Working oldtimer inside the halls.Very nice owners and other than in normal museums you can get close to the cars, even sit in some and you can walk freely through the property.Recommended to see when you re in CPT/ worth a stopover on your way to Paarl.
I have seen some old cars at this place. If you on the free way (N1) you can see this spot. The old cars and plane draws your attention, you cant miss it. Old rusted machines takes you back into time. Relaxing just to go and look at these cars. Take a walk through the museum and time travel with the family.
A rare opportunity to see a magnificent collection of old cars some immaculate others running and some scrap. The collection of rusted car bodies and car parts is interesting in its self. A really exciting place to visit. I was in awe of the many rare models of vechiles not seen on South African roads any more. A place not to be missed by car enthusiasts and mechanics old and young. The best part was being greeted by the owner Les Boshoff who is so enthusiastic and passionate about his cars and working museum. The Convair airplane is also excieting to see. The only place that you can board a plane that is not at a airport. Will definitely be back.
R100 entry; R50 for kids under 12. If youre a car nut with a yen for trying to recognise which old timers youre looking at from amongst the rusted wrecks, this place is heaven on earth. Newer cars too from Ferrari and Lamborghini, as well as the odd Mustang, Porsche 356, and Citroën. The Convair aeroplane is open for the public.
As long as you are a kid and dont know what the value of money is, go. My kids enjoyed it, I didnt. I enjoyed seeing them happy but I regretted paying so much and getting so little value for myself. For R100 pp and R50 for under 12s, I was expecting more. It looks like very little money is spent on taking care of the facility and developing it. I was really disappointed. I have seen better elsewhere and it was for free.
Unbelievable to think that a Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini and what looks like the shells of Malcolm Campbells Bluebird and a F1 motor vehicle are parked in a dusty old shed at the Wijnland Auto Museum. The musuem has a massive collection of automobiles owned by its proprietor Les Boshoff, and he recently added a plane too (Convair 580)! This place is a photographers dream location, with all the rust, once-shiny badges and battered old hearses & buses to take creative pics. The owner and his wife were very friendly and welcoming. R50 entrance fee.
Anything to do with motors, steel, rust and history. This is the place to go to. Its a must must see. The best museum Ive ever been to.
An AbsoluteJoy ! Well soon be back !
Ok, so this is not the shiny, dust free Franschoek car museum, so if this is what you expect, you will be disappointed. Me being a car lover, I thoroughly enjoyed wandering through the endless array of old vintage cars, from the better kept ones right through to the old rusted wrecks. I have seen a few cars of which I have only heard the names before, but never saw them myself, like a Studebaker. There is also a newer Lamborghini and Ferrari, and some Buicks and Porches, even a pink Cadillac, a few Borgward Isabellas and Anglias. The owner, Les Boshoff, is a really nice guy and took his time with us. What made the day even more special is that I was there with a friend who has flown the Convair which is parked right next to the N1 himself. We could climb the steps and sit in the same seat he sat in a few years ago. I would love to go show other friends this collection, it is much more than what you expect from the outside
Perfect place for taking photos. Brought back some memories. I highly recommend visiting this Auto museum. The plane was one of my highlights. Will visit again. Thank you Mr Boshoff for preserving this time capsule. We will be back.
Awesome cars there.
If I want to see a scrap yard I will visit it. This is a good srap yard. If you want to see a motor museum go to Franchoek Museum. This is a motor not museum but a junk yard. You pay R 40 less at Franchhoek motor museum. I waste my time and money
Amazing vintage car museum. R50 cover charge p/p. Parking available but best to call beforehand and hear if theres anything big happening on the day you plan to go. Theres also an old aeroplane that you can access.
Great collection of South African cars and the owner (Lez?) is a very interesting guy who knows about every car he has and theres hundreds. A lot are used in the film industry, others for special events.
Not a museum in the traditional sense, but a junkyard with rusted old cars. Some restored ones in a building but crammed in, not laid out as one might expect from a museum. There is now also an old Cpnvair airliner on display that is in perfect condition; its interior can be viewed. A great place for photographers.
If you love cars, your visit will be bitter sweet. To see the running and repairable vehicles is the sweet. To see the too far gone vehicles, is the bitter. A wonderful place to get lost in with a camera. The layout is a bit haphazard and getting to take that pic of a special vehicle could be difficult. A must see if you are in the area.
Awesome nostalgic trip down memory lane, very reasonable entrance fee @ R50 pp, also had the pleasure of meeting the owner and was informed they have some of the absolute classic cars available for matric farewells etc. Stunning collection and absolutely worth it.
An awesome experience into the vintage automobile world. A lovely friendly couple that own the farm and run the museum. An great location for photo shoots.
To be here is like watching old classic movie in open area Amazing place unique and historic Try it!!!
Any vehicle enthusiast would be thrilled to walk viewing a large display of cars of the past, where one can examine up close & get very personal by having photo sessions in & on the awesome motorcars. Besides, there is a Convair to be enjoyed too, being in an aeroplane is an experience not everyone gets to explore. Les Boshoff has provided a playground of amusement for all to discover. It has wow factor the first visit, on visiting the 2nd time i discovered so much more i had missed before & found it to be another amazing visit, i dont think that an hour is enough at a time, one needs to realise it is an educational excursion for the great & small.
Brilliant, if u Dnt kno what to do, take an afternoon.... And just go walk there... Its stunning and sumthing different to do.
A really fascinating place. Take a picnic with you.
Wow! what a beautiful selection of cars. Who would have thought that inside the buildings, not visible from the N1 Highway, was such an awesome collection, from street rods to super cars, including majestic vintage cars. The fact that you can do photo shoots between the old cars is also a big plus. Last but not least you can sit in the cockpit of the Convair 580, 50-seater aeroplane! I hear that they also hire out their cars for matric balls, weddings and for other occasions. All in all I would highly recommend a visit.
The venue is hidden down a dirt road... The rusting vehicles in the exposed yard constrast with Rolls Royce and exotic sports cars. There is a Classic Mini Clubman on display and an aeroplane.... And cars as big as aeroplanes!! Well not quite. But they are massive. For R50 bucks well worth it.
Good value ,interesting cars including movie vehicles an even ferraris and a Lamborghini
Great location to view a whole lot of cars old and new

My favourite place to take photos of my clients with all the vintage cars
What a collection of motorcars! Mr Boshoff, the owner, is so knowledgeable and passionate and we loved listening to the stories about where some cars came from.
Very interesting to know what cars are used for. It is not a museum only.
Great car history. .. not just South African but international
Very interesting and learn full. An awesome collection of cars..
Not really a museum... more like a scrapyard. Also, youll see flashier supercars in the V&A parking lot, and you dont have to pay R100pp to do that.
Its so cool must GO and see
Fascinating spot if you like old vehicles...
Interesting collection of old cars and a great place to do a photoshoot.
Brought a sense of nostalgia to me which I was not even aware of. Id recommend it to anyone and everyone to visit this place once, or twice, in their lives.
Hidden gem in the north. The airplane is a nice addition.
Very nice auto museum, there are many gems that are hiding there!
Nice cars but to pay R50 for scrap is a bit much
Nice to look at the vintage cars.
Fantastic location to take pictures. Fascinating mixture of roadworthy cars to complete wrecks
Perfect place to capture pictures of all time
They told us dont even touch the cars but all in total we had paid a lot, it wasnt worth it
Fascinating collection of vintage automobiles!
Very interesting, if you like old cars.
Great place for a family outing.
Awesome!
A hidden gem. Some old, some new, some really really old.
Horrible experience. No one at gate. Just rust buckets and no restoration.
Some hidden gems at this car museum, including a rocket car that was used in an attempt at breaking land speed records.
Not just old rusty wrecks, but beautiful classics inside as well.
Very nice worth a visit
