Bad experience and lack of credibility I met the employee and ask him to book a car for 17 days and he gave me a piece of paper with the booking information and told me to get the car from another location and gave me the address but when it is the time I went there to pick up the car according to the booking but the employee there unfortunately told me that there is not any information in the system about my booking and there is no any cars in this location for rent the only solution is to go to the airport and rent from there. So I took an Uber to the airport which cost me a fortune and made a new booking there. I advise everyone to book from an international companies.

I started Booking Car rental with AroundAboutCars in 2018. I was checking cars in November for December Holidays and all cars were expensive and some already taken. So I did some searching I found AroundAboutCars their prices were so reasonable I book the car with them, First did not trust the numbers that they were giving me until the day I went to fetch the car.Everything was book I got the car so cheap for 18 days. I had an amazing experience with Tempest Car Rental through Around about Cars. Everything is done by them ( around about cars) with no questions asked at the pick up branch. I remember the last rental I was quoted cheaper rates but when arrived at the branch my card was debited with different ( higher rates/ their rates) as I get home contacted around about cars letting them know about my experience they immediately rectified that. The branch called me and ask if they should do a refund on my card or when extending the rental as I normally do I pay lesser.I chose to pay lesser on my next extension, easy like that. Most reliable Car Rental in Cape Town and all over South Africa even for cross boarder

I have recently booked a Ford Eco Sport over the Easter long weekend, with Around About Cars. The service was excellent & the staff were so friendly. They guided me throughout the booking process. At that point I knew I chose the right car hire company. To make the whole experience worthwhile & intrigue, the car was so comfortable & safe to drive & I had no problems with the car whatsoever. The entire experience was excellent, satisfactory & worth every penny I spent.

What a very pleasant experience...When I hired a car for few days to go to the eastern and while I was there my cousin passed on and I had to extend my stay in the eastern to prepare for the funeral .. when I called AroundAboutCars to ask for extension ,, I got a response within 20 minutes advising me that i can keep the car for the next 5 days .. upon my returned my deposit money was paid into my bank account within 7 days of me return the car. I decided to book a car on the day that we were leaving for Plettenberg Bay and decided to go with around about cars. It was the worse experience I had where the salesman will tell me he will call me back and I end up calling him this went on from the morning till the afternoon at 3. He then said he will email tempest car hire as they work together at the airport so when I get there everything will be sorted out. I came to the airport nothing was sent to them it was a whole back and forth thing trying to get the email or authorization number in order to leave. Then they never had a car that I wanted they only had one and that was for another customer they eventually gave that customers car and i left there after a hour just because of people not doing there work correctly.

Excellent service, whenever I have needed help they have been very responsive. Even during lockdown 5, I sent an email and asked to get a call back and this was done immediately! Keep up the good work!

I booked my car one day in advance. Less than 1/2 an hour before I was supposed to pick it up (I was already on the way to the airport) they told me I needed to go to their other location at the city center. I confirmed with the counter by the airport that my car would be there when I got there. However when I arrived at the downtown location they informed me that they had given away my car because I was late (even though I’d come straight from the airport). They said they’d called me, but I had no missed calls. They claimed they called all the car rentals in the area and could only offer me a car that cost x4 as much as the one that I had booked. I needed an automatic and they only had manual cars left. So I ended up having to pay to go to the airport, pay to go to the downtown office, and cancel my accommodation the day of (lost all my money). I would not recommend booking with them.

Best kindest service at the best rates!

Poor communication and service overall. First the women we talked to on the phone when ordering the car misspelled our e-mail address several times and after some phone calls back and forth we never received a confirmation via email, and when we arrived to pick up the car we had ordered, there were no cars available at all. They asked us to go to the airport to pick it up ourselves, or wait in town for about 2 hours for a car. We ended up getting a car via Europe-car instead after about one hour delay. We did not receive any compensation for the trouble or even a proper apology. We were very dissatisfied with the service from AroundAboutCars and would not recommend them.

No problems. Friendly staff. Got what I expected and what we agreed upon. I had the car for nearly 3 weeks, and I caused no damage to it and they didnt try to charge me for any.Some people have complained about the charge to fill up the gas tank when you return the car. As they explain, there is a difference between full and topped off. When you receive your car it is topped off, meaning that it is more than full. Even when your car says its full, more gas will fit in the tank until it is topped off. I drove my car for several days and the meter still said it was full, because it was topped off at the beginning. Therefore when you return the car they will top it off again and youll pay for it.As they explain, they do not profit from selling you petrol. In fact I went with them to the station down the street where they filled it up, and I paid the station directly for it. So the charge for petrol in the end is definitely no scam.

Such friendly staff and affordable prices, this has got to be the best option for car hire in Cape Town. Especially the airport drop off procedure. They drive you to the airport, drop you off, than head off with the car, no parking problems, no traffic problems and no extra charge. We opted to get a shuttle via our hotel to town. We Ubered around the city and it was only when we wanted to go sight seeing that we picked up our car. So much easier and again, no traffic or parking problems. We were able to enjoy or holiday

Really nice place and with good price for rentals. I would advise to book a few days ahead in order to guarantee youll have a car available. We talked with Steve to get our car and he was extremely helpful and friendly.

Made a reservation with them, got a car from tempest car Hire. Returned the car and then got charged the full deposit with no explanations. Contacted aroundaboutcars and they sent me an invoice for fixing some damage to one of the rims, but the cost is less then half the deposit value. When i told that to them they simply stopped answering me. For me, thats a scam.

Needed a vehicle very last minute and accidentally contacted around about cars instead of the initial company i wanted, but this was a good accident to have happened. The consultant Steve was just simply amazing to deal with, i had a battery failure and this too was swiftly sorted out by Max. The entire team was great, as was the professional service, which comes highly recommended, will definitely be using their services again.

One star is still not good for them. As always read and read again your car hire agreement. They change the contract without your confirmation and then hold you to it. Lots of hidden costs.
