They went from the office to where they park the cars and discovered the car we were supposed to get wasnt clean. We had to wait 15-20 minutes for them to clean the car but took the opportunity to walk to a convenience store nearby and pick up snacks! I was grateful they didnt just try to pass off the dirty car. They handled the situation very well.

Are use this company to hire a 16 passage a taxi, Toyota quantum, I would definitely use this company again as the rates were pretty decent and so with the terms and conditions. The things I like most about my experience with this company is the fact that the vehicles were clean and serviced, the support when I needed it was also quick and friendly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the future looking for vehicle hire they also have quite a few branches around Cape Town making it super easy to pick up or drop off the vehicle

This branch is located on a busy section of GreenPoint. I found it extremely hard to leave the branch due to the high number of cars that were driving down Chiappini road towards the traffic light, and then when traffic light closed, all the traffic backed up and one couldnt reverse out the Thrifty branch. It happened on 2 separate occasions in 2019. I guess it wont be a problem if one picks up the car when theres no traffic around the branch. I experienced the same problem when I returned the car, it was hard to get to the drop-off zone.

This is really bad! Absolutely authentic here as per the previous guests statement, I hired a car in March and have still not received my deposit back of $250 AUD! They request this upfront on top of your daily car payment which is fair enough, but the bond was promised to be refunded to you in 2-3 weeks. I am now involving higher parties as I have made contact with them 7 times ,and keep getting the same answer , just not good enough. Unfortunately, I never like to place negative comments on a business as I know how challenging running a business can be , but do yourselves a favour and stay away as this place as its painful and evil, especially when we go away to enjoy our hard earned holidays! As per previous guests statement, stay away!!!!!

FRAUDULENT Company!!! Stay away!!! You will not see your deposit again. I rented a car with Cape Detour in March 20th, and I have yet to receive my deposit and its now the 24th of April. I have seen other complaints online from people with the same issue. There is no number online.

Probably the most disorganised rentacar agency I have ever been to. People were queuing for hours before getting their car, us included. No transparency, no commercial gesture, poorly managed...Apparently all the cars were located at the airport and they couldnt bring them over...

NO customer service!! Thiefs!!!! Deducting unauthorised money from my account. I returned the rental on 16 Feb - today is 2 March and I have not received my deposit back. They said max 7 days!! I have sent numerous emails, phoned about 10 times!! Their phone lines are so bad - I had to call back 6 times. WORST company!!!

I was at the office on 24 Chiappini St in Cape Town.I had booked the car via internet. The price was cheap and I guess you get what you pay for.- The service was bad: no smile, poor courtesy- The car was much smaller than anticipated (on the internet we chose the option for 5 adults + luggages but we got a 4 adults or 2 adults + 3 kids car.... (so that was a problem because we were actually 5 adults).- They did not have any GPS to rent. This was surprising because GPS rental are advertised both on the internet and in the office (big poster). We insisted but they said that they did not have any. Again this was a bit of a problem because we did not have any map of Cape Town!Although the price was cheap I would not recommend Dollar Thrifty in Cape Town.
