Held my sisters Bachelorette garden tea at The Backyard Cafe and it was a dream! The beautiful garden setting was perfect for our flower crown workshop. The food was delicious and stunningly presented. And the lama cake.... even better than I could have imagined! Thank you so much for making this special day go so smoothly!

A percect definition of a Backyard Café.What an incredible experience.This beautiful Café is hidden right in the backyard of a wooden furniture store. The store does EVERYTHING with wood. The Café has a nature feeling that almost makes you forget that you are still in the busy suburbs. While you are enjoying the relaxing ambience try some of the food and drinks. They have a variety of breakfast, lunch, cakes, muffins (savory or sweet), smoothies for an healthier option, health fruit bowls, teas and coffees. Vegan options are also available. Go and relax. You wood not regret it 😉

Lovely garden area for a quick breakfast or lunch, Easy to pass but there is a sign at thr corner of the parking area closer to the main road... Best to either come on a warm day or with an additional jacket if it is cold they do walk ins and sitdownsReservations for functions are available aswell and they do notify you via google aswell when making reservations!! Non-halaal!!

Ordered a beef burger, got something that resembled a falafel burger. Soft poached eggs were cooked through and hard. Doubt well ever return

Walking through rooms of beautifully crafted furniture works to finally reach the stoep and the garden in the back yard was the best introduction to the Backyard❤The food is good🦋and you do have the build your own brekkie option. In the 32 degree heat, the jug of green mamba (lemon, mint and ginger) was so refreshing. Service was decent considering we were a party of 15. Go for gold with the chocolate cake and the granadilla cheesecake. Great place to meet up with friends for coffee or a family get together with a lovely garden setting🦋See you soon at the Backyard🇿🇦

A really cute cafe. Literally in a beautiful, green backyard. The service was excellent but they lost a star based on the food portion size. I wasn’t expecting a mini quiche, but rather a thick slice.This cafe is perfect for dates, and even during this wild-pandemic, I would still enjoy an event there. It was spacious and the air just felt more fresh underneath their trees.

Definitely worth the visit. The vegetarian /vegan options are such a delight and there is the best furniture/decor/baby shop inside that is a MUST to visit!

When we arrives there were 2 ladies sitting at desks. They did not greet is or even take any note of us even though we said excise me as we wanted to know where to go be ause it was our first time there. Eventually they told us.Once we got inside the service was great.The food however was not so great as my sandwich was more bread than toppings and it was a bit doughie. The side salad was nice though!The vibe is great other than that though and my girlfriends and I had fun.

My family including my grandkids had an amazing time..the breakfast was awesome ..the staff friendly and accommodating. The setting was home away from home ..the garden setting was extremely serene...my grandkids explored the garden area which were a fairy tale setting for them without being a hindrance to others..definitely a hidden gem

Serving wholesome yummy food this family restaurant offers a home away from home feel with friendly staff and phenomenal service. The garden patio environment is refreshing and atmospheric which enhances the experience. Our favourite is the Vegan Power Tower with poached eggs.

Its a lovely spot for a cup of coffee, delicious cake or a bite. Highly recommend for small groups of 4 or so as their food is delicious when its hot. Not recommended for a big crowd as the food comes out the kitchen a little slow

Service very disappointing. The staff were apathetic and lacking knowledge of the menu.When I asked the waiter what he would recommend from the vegan options I was told to look at what is labelled as such on the menu. Then, when I ordered my Vegetable Patch I was still asked of I wanted the optional (additional cost) chicken with it.I chose to have it as an open sandwich, but even after requesting a steak knife was unable to cut the ciabatta. They did replace it which was a slight improvement but I still left half the ciabatta amd just ate the toppings.

Amazing food

Had lunch, meals were below average, lettuce in the salad bowls limp and lasagna disappointing, dry and flat.Not children friendly, no play area and for babies no area to crawl. Service was good, coffee and juices were excellent and so were the cakes.

Beautiful setting, large trees, greenery, fountains...you dont even realise youre on a busy road. Food is good, a firm favourite.

It was very busy when we arrived. No on really showed us to a table, had to ask a waiting where we could sit. We waited quite a while for our orders to be taken but we where compensated for the long wait which was a nice touch. Food was tasty and carrot cake slice was enough for two people to share.

The Backyard is an enchanting & tranquil Garden Café. Its like being in someones quaint Garden - lovely Plants, Herbs & a Fountain, with a mix of Garden Furniture, pretty Cushions & a couple of Black & White Cats! The Menu has rather different Dishes - all are delicious! And they make the BEST Baby Ccinos! Its a truly relaxing Experience. Its one of my favourite Places to get together.

Well we thought it was delightful going in.... and we were even more delighted when we saw the menu.... until we tried to order three or four different menu items all of which they said they wouldnt be able to make because the ingredients were out of stock.... particularly, mixed veggies, rosti (what kind of restaurant imports their rosti ready made?) and vegan cheese ....all of which were ON the menu.... basically our only choice was a toasted tomato sandwich for way too much money.Disappointing a.f.

Lovely place and have always loved going here. I did have an off experience on Sunday. I arrived at 14:20, rang the bell and a guy then popped up at the end of the passage staring at his watch I then greeted and I dont think he greeted back. He then took me to my table and very aggressively asked me if I was waiting for anyone as the kitchen was closing at 15:00. The rest of my stay was okay, food was lovely but the service from Joshua was off putting.Update: 15/12/2019The owner invited me back for a meal on the house and everything was as great as it always is when visiting them!

Theyve got some great breakfast options, the salmon omelette is superb! Service is always quick and friendly, definitely a regular weekend breakfast spot.When we went the last time the coffee was a little bitter and we only found out we couldnt use the entertainer app for breakfast menu options.The seating is in a backyard which makes it really comfortable and relaxing.

The service was great! We had a bridal shower event here. This place is a great venue for bridal showers, baby showers, etc. Its both elegant and comfortable. The food was great and made fresh. They could use a bit more salmon for the cucumber & cream cheese canapés. The manager was quite on the ball and I felt like I could go to her for anything. Its also great for small get togethers who just want breakfast and coffee. You dont usually have to make a booking for this venue, but I would recommend it if youre a large group.
