New cafe in the block. Very cute aesthetics, quiet space perfect for work, study and hanging out. They have free wifi, super affordable and delicious food. Oh and their breakfast comes with free coffee. Great customer service. It’s my new favourite place.

Visited them at 6:25pm on Sunday evening. The host was not friendly upon arrival. Our water had his mask covering his chin (exposed mouth and nose). Bill arrived without me asking for it. It would have been appreciated had they politely come to ask if I could pay so that they could cash up ahead of 7pm when they close. Ordered a warm beverage only so cant comment on their food.

I came in for breakfast. The restaurant wasnt crowded but more people walked in during my visit. The decor is inviting. The food is okay but I found them a bit slow. It wasnt an amazing experience but, it was good enough for me to come back.

What a disaster. Without over complicating my review this was truly an unhappy experience. To start the waiter was extremely slow after which he completely jumbled our orders (different aspects of each order wrongly included in each of the orders) and overall not a single order was correct. The ambiance is truly lacking which the staff try to make up for by pumping extremely loud music - a dismal failure when trying to speak to a friend. To end of this jovial experience when I wanted to pay my card was flat out refused by the waiter who would not even try it. I had to loan money from the person I was treating to pay the bill as the waiter would only accept cash. No effort was made to make our experience better. I would highly recommend that you avoid this restaurant - go to woollies for a take-away and thank me later.

Met up with a friend after work, and we chose this place because they were open later than other coffee shops. The carrot cake was amazing, and I also enjoyed my carrot&ginger smoothie. My friend wanted to order the coconut smoothie which wasnt available, so she had coffee instead.

Highly recommend!! Thoroughly enjoyed the vibe, food and service. Very conducive for studying/working

Didnt have the stuff we ordered despite saying they had everything. Took a while to arrive, and was very sweet when it did. Service wasnt anything special. They have a good location, its a pity they havent tried harder

Lovely place, friendly manager and aesthetically pleasing, however, the food was underwhelming. We ordered a cappuccinos which arrived cold and lacked the creaminess that a cappuccino ordinarily has. The place was empty save for two other occupied tables but the service was very slow. The BBQ wings and blue cheese burger were satisfactory at best, but the fries were incredibly disappointing. They were cold and tasted as though they had been made days before. Although the menu is extensive, it does not inspire confidence for a second visit.

This such a cool, relaxed spot for meet and greats, breakfast meetings as well as a good cocktail.

Had the special on a Monday night... Spaghetti bolo and meatballs 🍝 homemade spaghetti and friendly service. Overall fantastic place to eat and have an intimate meal 😁

A simple cheese and tomato toastie on a NOT busy mid morning took 25 minutes and was appalling. Cold toastie, flaccid oven style fries. Below average coffee.

This is the first negative review that i have ever given. The service was sour, the coffee was not good at all, and the vibe is not nice. It feels like they need to put some effort in. We actually ended up leaving and going to Kauai

Do yourself a favour and just go someplace else or eat at home. Myself and my partner tried this place for the first time today and left not only disappointed, but annoyed. We waited almost an hour for our food when the restaurant was practically empty, and when it arrived it was nothing like what we had ordered or what was promised on the menu. I ordered the french toast, which was meant to be sourdough bread with cream cheese and grilled banana. When it arrived, it turned out to be three slices of presliced supermarket brown bread with a single grilled banana sliced down the middle, which wasnt even enough to cover each piece of French toast. I had to ask for the cream cheese, as it was missing. When it finally arrived it came with a side of hair. The meal was so dry and inedible (with grains of sugar clinging to the bread that didnt dissolve in the batter and odd pieces of parsley scattered throughout) that I barely finished half. My partner had the eggs benedict, which was even worse. The toast was so hard that you could have cut off a piece and stabbed someone (again sliced supermarket brown bread instead of sourdough), the eggs were cooked to death despite the fact that he asked for them soft, and the hollandaise sauce was just a lumpy mess unfit for human consumption. It is also worth noting that he initially placed an order for the salmon eggs benedict and had to change it because it was reported 20 minutes after taking our order that no salmon was available. This raised concerns about proper tabs being kept on stock of ingredients and their expiry dates. The meals were so awful that we felt the need to respectfully give our feedback, after which we were still made to pay for everything. Terrible food, terrible service, incompetent management. Sharing scraps with a stray dog on the side of the street would be a more pleasant meal than this was.

I enjoy the lovely cakes they bake and fresh scones and muffins , nice coffee and great atmosphere always nice to see the students frequent the place on a regular basis

Had the most unprofessional encounter at Roasted Bean Cafe, and will never go there again. I really cant stress enough, you really should not waste your money there. Firstly you gotta order something worth R50 to get wifi password. And its R50 per person. Our bill came R120 for two, and still I would not get the wifi password, unless the waitress was the one putting it on my phone. So regrettably unprofessional and tiring. Also order mango smoothie, and there wasnt any mango in there.

The service and food from this restaurant leaves a lot to be desired to be perfectly honest. Ive been there 6 times and every single time I have been there there has always been an issue. There is either a missing component of the meal OR the service is absolutely horrendous with the waiter coming to clarifyour order seventeen hundred times OR the food is just not up to par OR they make you wait ages for the food OR all the above. One would think the waiters also cook the food themselves because goodness me they take forever to bring that food out. Something as basic as giving the customer serviettes or milk to accompany their tea or cutlery to eat with seems to be such a big task for the waiters. Im definitely not a difficult customer, the mere fact that Ive been there 6 times is testament to this, I like to give people a chance to rectify mistakes. But I have certainly had enough of this place. Id rather travel to claremont or observatory to have a decent plate of food and service and my moneys worth to be honest. Cocoa wah wah will be back in Rondebosch soon and I cannot wait!

Kitchen staff dont wear masks. Service was terrible.Ordered toasted sandwiches which cost R60 and didnt even come with chips, wasnt sourdough as stated in the menu, and came with an unappealing salad. The toasted sandwich wasnt even toasted properly and fell apart while eating it.Definitely would not recommend.
