Oh my when I talk about beautiful setting you talking this place, it mind blowing to watch sunset. From the reception the staff was warm and sweet. What Ive liked most about this place is the food I enjoyed everything about my meal, I thought my food was worth even more That burger was too delicious, the good quility service was a dessert on top.

The food was exceptional, I don’t want to even mention the customer service 👌🏽 We were served by a gentleman named Zwai his services was beyond measures perfection at its best, very chilled and beautiful environment as well

Let start with the food... I dont appreciate paying R175 for boiled chicken breast with absolutely no flavour.I still dont know why its rated top 5 Rooftop Bar on some international website.Will definitely not be going back there. What a rip off!

The place is great but as soon as we asked for our bill the waiter did pay attention to us and we wanted to order more so we decided to just pay and find another place.

The way the place is always so packed and fully booked and I got turned away twice cause it was full capacity, I expected something more vibey and electric going on, but its definitely a cute spot, very cosy but they need to do more on their signature cocktails. I was not happy on a mixology level.

Chinchilla is the best. We were first given a grea welcome by the reception. This is where we met Gabriel (the bouncer) who is such a humble super awesome person. Gabriel assured our safety and made us feel at home. My family had a wonderful time and great experience. Thanks to Gabriel, we are definitely coming back soon. Recommend this rooftop restaurant as the best in Cape Town.

A phenomenal experience! We received a warm and friendly welcome by the hostess upon entry. . Caven, our waiter, ensured we were well taken care of creating a memorable experience. Chinchilla is an awesome place to be .Food was delicious it’s just that the buns for the burgers were not fresh.Other than we had a great experience being at Chinchilla.The music, drinks and views were great 🙌🏾. Most drinks are expensive though .Obviously we gonna visit again this year .

The view, the music, the atmosphere made our chill session all the better.The food wasnt amazing and my long Island ice tea was fine the first time I ordered it but when I ordered it again it definitely didnt taste the same and it looked different. Which was disappointing.Besides that I had a lovely time. And Id definitely go back

Service was amazing and the venue was greatly located. It didn’t feel pretentious and the food was really tasty. It had a real vacation feel. Definitely try the purple haze cocktail and the grilled squid.

Amazing; The views are simply amazing. The music (deephouse) was pretty much flawless the entire time we were there. I would certainly recommend coming here; however when in season, ensure you book a table early. We were pleasantly surprised by our hors doeuvres, and the service was pretty good (once we finally got a table). Id definitely recommend you give it a try, and well be back whenever were in town.

Food was ok. Drinks were bleh.For the price you pay, Id imagine getting more food or the food being more tasty.Out of the three drinks we got, only 1 was actually worth it. Other two werent good and one was horrible! The two drinks pictured, the watermelon cucumber one was OK and the sage mango one was horrible. A cherry themed one was actually good.The redeeming quality about this place is the service and the atmosphere. Very exquisite and inviting. Worth experiencing IF you have money to blow. If sure there are places with views like this with great food and drinks...

Great place. Drinks are exactly what is described on the menu. And the mustard steak is actually perfect. And I dont throw the word perfect easily.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in Cape Town, the manager was so horrible and made us feel so unwelcome, from not wanting to let us in the front door after we phoned to let them know we were running 5 minutes late, seating us on a couch right at the back of the restaurant despite booking a table for a birthday dinner weeks in advance, and telling us we were only allowed to order one of three cocktails even though everyone around us was drinking a variety of other drinks and another waiter apparently not knowing why he told us this. Save your money and go elsewhere.

The best rooftop in Cape Town.Junior our waiter spoiled myself and my wife the whole night.Shout out to you guys.I highly recommend and will definitely be back.

If you are accustomed to friendly and welcoming service at the door and in restaurants - especially if you’re coming from abroad, this establishment is a miss.The rudest, most inappropriate manager I’ve ever come across whom spoke to his staff in order to translate a message to guests only a foot away which was well in earshot.The manager, Saul/Shaull/Sean, who’s ego is far too large for the hospitality industry and communication skills is as dull and unprofessional as you can find.I’d suggest looking elsewhere in Camps Bay for better service and well-mannered managers.(our waiter, Oscar, was great, pity - Chinchilla is situated in a lovely location which might compensate for any mishaps you may experience with the manager)

Great vibe!!!! Sundays are a MUST

This is certainly one of the best spots in cape town. The rooftop bar provides some of the best views in the whole city, overlooking camps bay. Regardless of whether it is early morning, in the evening, cloudy or sunny, it is always incredibly beautiful. Everything this place serves is fantastic. True, it might be a touch expensive, but you certainly get what you pay for. The decor leaves little to be desired, with a very clean and considered approach to everything here, with fun touches of colour here and there to make things a bit more interesting. The service too is fantastic. This is a definite recommend.

Terrible service, rude manager. We arrived and they did not inform us the sushi menu was closing a few minutes after we arrived leaving us with limited options. Ordered fries and they came as crunchy as they come, I couldn’t even eat them. The steak was flavourless and the chicken was dry. Food came with no cutlery, we had to ask for several missing items from our order. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re accustomed to good food and great service. Waste of a prime venue.

I really enjoyed the food, I had a calamari/ squid starter and my companion had the burger. I wish I had taken pics but we were hungry! I recommend this place to chill in Camps Bay, it has a nice vibe and classy feel even though its next to the beach.

Chilled spot. You can watch the sun set on camps bay. The staff is friendly. The food is good. If you want to sit in the front, call ahead of time to reserve, they will try their best to accommodate you.

The vibe and ambiance here is amazing and its definitely aesthetically pleasing, views and all.I did not get the best service, my waiter took long and they didnt have much of a mocktail menu and they didnt stock up on the ingredients for the mocktail that actually made me go there.The menu is also not that exciting. Im guessing its a bar as the bar was fully stocked even though regulations didnt allow us a drink.The place is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Even the bathrooms

The view is beautiful. It is great to be here for sunset - stunning. I really enjoyed the cocktails. The food was fine - I was not overly impressed but there was nothing wrong with it. Service could definitely improve. Not very good at checking in and offering more drinks - always had to give a wave. Recommend making a reservation (they do require deposit and it is a few hundred dollars for a small group). This place is quite pricey by comparison to some other places in the area.

We can highly recommend this place: it’s a stunning view over camps bay - especially at sunset. The food and cocktails are also very good ( we had steak, salad and sandwiches and cocktails). The prices are also decent. The service staff was very friendly and Took our wishes seriously. We will come back :)

I had an awful experience yesterday the 5th December 2020 at this now trendiest restaurant. I happen to be in Camps Bay with my partner trying to get a place to have lunch, I remembered Chinchilla as I had been there 2 years prior and had enjoyed their signature cocktail ‘the purple haze’. We didn’t have a reservation and were just trying to see if we would get a table. We got in and were accommodated for. The host led us to a table close to the bar and just placed the menus on top of the table, but didn’t say anything to us. We sat down as he was taking care of girls that were already seated at the bar. After 10mins of not being attended to, I had to enquire whether we would be served or not. The person that sat us down informed us that there would be someone that would attend to us. We waited for another 10mins and I again asked if we would be helped. The host at this time was taking the girls that he was assisting at the bar to another table. I just had enough of this bad service and asked my partner if we could leave. I informed host that we were leaving and that their service was beyond poor, that we were going somewhere else rather. Luckily downstairs at Zenzero we had the best service and their cuisine was delicious. I was so disappointed with this service and will never go back to this Chinchilla restaurant. I often have visitors from out of town and would recommend restaurants that they should try out when they are in town. Chinchilla would definitely not be one of them.

A wonderfully situated bar that overlooks the beach with its white sand, and has the perfect musical blend between easy listening and good dance vibes. The alcohol and snacks are expensive, however its understandable given the location and size of venue. Staff were very attentive, toilets were spotless. Would return for sure.

I would not recommend chinchilla for dinner. Our waiter was fantastic, very sweet! We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. 35 mins later, half our food came out, still no drinks (a glass of rose and an old fashioned). 5 minutes later my side salad finally came. 10 minutes later still no side of fries for my boyfriend. They never actually came out. The drinks were average and very pricey. The food was also very average and pricey. The best part about this place is the view at sunset which we enjoyed. Club music was blasting the entire time we were there. Go here for partying and drinking, not for dinner.
