Ice-cream not great, ordered chocolate flavour and looked more like vanilla. The service was terrible as well. Guy servicing us looked grumpy and didnt even acknowledge my husband when he greated him. Disappointed 👎

Majestic Cafes food is always very delicious, freshly prepared and the portion sizes are very generous! The staff are always super helpful/friendly and if one has space after their meal, definitely get an ice cream (sugar cone with a flake for the win). Ive been going there for years and will continue to go, as its definitely a favourite of the locals (you just cant beat their chips as well).

Amazing shop, oldest shop in Muizenburg, super friendly owners, Portuguese Fish and Chips, ice cream cones, just like in Portugal. Wonderful collection of vintage tins and Coke memorabilia. Rare beach front gem. Right on the beach, loads of parking.

The owner is BEYOND grumpy! He came outside and screamed all at all his customers for not social distancing when it was families standing in groups collectively but meters apart. These are your CUSTOMERS, who not just ask nicely, is that how you have to treat people who are paying YOUR Bills? Very unimpressed you should know better.

The oldest shop in Muizenberg! Very friendly staff, short waiting periods, the beat hamburgers in Cape Town, proper size. Everything is fresh inside the shop, a lot of history as well. Best place for Ice cream on a sunny day, close to the beach. Family friendly. A real Gem!

The best hot chips in Cape Town. I travel regularly from Newlands to the Majestic Cafe just to purchase the suburb hot chips. Sadly they are all eaten by the time I return to Newlands!!

Good food ... good service . One of my favorite spots on the beachfront.

I have not tasted the food here, BUT, I had had the ice cream (Soft Serve) This is a BIG must! Their ice cream is really good! Give it a try next time you are in the area. Nothing nice than licking one of these babies (with a chocolate flake in a sugar cone) on a hot day.

An absolutely iconic establishment in Muizenberg, the Majestic Cafe is a great place to get a quick bite. The samoosas and roti rolls are excellent, but run out quickly. If you have a few minutes to wait while your food is prepared, go for the calamari roll or the bacon banana burger.

Ice-cream is still great. Blonde/red headed male shop assistant doesnt really have customer service skills. Not pleased to see customers in the café. Snapscan payment carries a R3 service charge.

The store originally opened in 1937 as a café, then as tea lounge. Since 1974, it’s been a café, selling take-aways, soft-serve ice cream (the first store to introduce it in Muizenberg”) and convenience items. “Majestic is one of the original beach cafes.” Inside, a daily menu in chalk print (“rooties” and “samoosas”), vintage memorabilia like a 1937 Coke bottle, Cornflakes tins and Lucky Strike signs share the space. On pale green walls black-and-white photographs depict the evolution of the Muizenberg pavilion and how the beachfront has changedSome of the staff has been working there for at least 30 years and the store is currently managed by the son of the original owner. The hands-on service from the owner makes me rate this establishment higher.We normally just go there for the ice-cream which is excellent

First experience was good. Second was better. But the third time, I called to place an order, the owner/manager sounded very irritated. Anyway, I asked for a gatsby only to be told they were sold out. I then said I will call back once I confirmed what the order was gonna be seeming they were sold out of gatsby. Called back, no answer. Called again, no answer. Called the third time, he answered. Wanted to order vienna and chips, asked what sauce they had and the owner decides to snap at me and tell me that he doesnt have time for this. He has other people waiting and this is why he doesnt answer the phone. Such an unexpected and rude response from a guy who I thought was quite nice the first 2 times I ordered from him. Never really gave it any thought but no wonder the shop is always empty. Its a real disappointment as I was just getting used to the fact that this was gonna be our new gatsby place . Anyway, last time I buy from there..what a waste of time.

The oldest soft ice cream shop. You can see long lines unintentionally. Its softer and melts faster than ice cream in Korea, but it doesnt melt well. Sugarcone R.25. R.8 per topping The oldest soft icecream shop here. You can easily find long ques, waiting for this! Softer than the one in S.Korea. Seems like melthing fast, but it isnt. R.25 for large suger cone. (Adding toppping for R.8)
