Great food. Great ambience. But best of all - do you remember what Cheers restaurant was famous for? WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME. It is rare to find a restaurant where you see people walking by and staff greeting the people as though they are old friends. Where you have a loyal band of regulars. Cafe Honeybun is special. And their Malay Chicken Curry is equally special. In the words of Arnold - I WILL BE BACK!!! What a find

Situated in the Hipster precinct of Cape Town. Good Coffee, well presented affordable Halaal meals. Breakfast was a hit. Friendly staff and well managed. An overall great experience. Off street parking may be an issue but was well worth it.

This is unfair and it feels like discrimination against people who choose not to have a vaccine or cant have the vaccine. Times are so tough and all people vaccinated or not should have a 10% discount ...this causes more separation and division.

Awesome service, and a lovely breakfast and lunch spot

This restaurant is very unassuming. Its a quaint place on the corner that has a homely atmosphere. I was greeted by a woman I could only describe as your favourite aunt. All of this wasnt even the highlight. The roast beef sandwich I ordered was sublime. From the first bite to the last bite, it was delicious. I am planning on returning soon for this sandwich!

Possibly the Best avocado toast and thats coming from an East londoner. The ladies made us feel a part of the family. Think we visited 6 times for breakfast in 10 days. Lots of love from Dublin! 😘

Cafe Honeybun is a great place to have a breakfast or brunch. We ordered a omelette and open sandwich for breakfast. Both meals were very well cooked and have a lot of flavour. The sandwich comes with a very refreshing salad. Overall, great quality meal and decent portion size.

Had the most fantastic creamed mushrooms with a poached egg and rocket! Very good smoothies as well.

First time Ive eaten here. Although it wasnt that full Ive never experienced such seamless, efficient service. Wow! The two waiters interact like ballet dancers covering for each other wordlessly. A well run place with great staff.Well done and keep it up!P. S. Oh and the food was very good too 😄

Such a great find on Lower Main road in Observatory. Well located within walking distance to parking and also other shops, restaurants and bars. Service is friendly and helpful. Coffee is good and offered with a choice of different milk options. Menu is well laid out with sufficient choices to satisfy all patrons.

Situated on the corner of the main street in Mowbray, Honeybun is a friendly little cafe. It offers a basic but satisfying menu and a cosy atmosphere. Theres an outside area for smokers that is heated. Its a busy area with lots of shops, bars and eateries, great to wander around.

Waited 10 minutes for the waiter to come take our drinks order upon which we also ordered breakfast which only came 50min later!Hubby was happy with his full house breakfast and I went again for the Smashed Avo. Id asked for my eggs to be scrambled which it was not. The bread was a white hot dog roll that was stale and cold. Absolutely unacceptable. At that point it was no use to complain as I was so hungry and not willing to wait another while before the correct food was sent out. The same waitress as last served us but wasnt helpful at all.

Great little gem in Cape Town. Came across the cafe in the Entertainer app, situated in the heart of Obz.Good place to catch a quick bite from toasted sandwiches, croissants and light meals. Great coffees as well - I recommend their Mocca.Prices are reasonable as well, considering the portion sizes. The service isnt the greatest, however decent for a café ambiance.

Came for the Nutella flapjacks I saw on a friends Instagram, Cafe Honeybun did not disappoint. If youre struggling for parking there is a street one up that had some more space

I really liked it. It can get a little full, but theres outdoor seating, which is great. I had the mushroom on toast, it was really good. Their fries are great too, very generous portions(the fries). The overall meal was quite filling.

The food is very good here however, each time I’ve been there, the service has been a let down. This is the best place to come if you are looking for a good breakfast and willing to wait up to 20min for the waitress to come take your order (that’s if you’re lucky they even notice you). The general mood of service here is apathetic.

Beautiful setting with unique decorations and the cutest illustrations. The food is superb and their hazelnut/almond cake is one thing Id recommend without a doubt! Theyve got great coffee and menu with quite a variety. An overall great café, and Ill definitely be going back.

This is one of the little hidden gems in Observatory. They serve the best breakfast and have friendly staff. They do have other food offerings besides breakfadt. The place is much loved and a bit small, so you might want to go a little early in the mornings if you plan on going on weekends to get a nice spot.

Bad service experience, waited extremely long for meals to be served. Dont think staff aware that some of the clientele understand their Afrikaans SLANG and distasteful behavior. Telling one another the customer outsidet could just wait till they ready to serve them,whilst having a fat old chat to eachotherStaff need to be managed. Could have been a nice experience experience But NOT

Such a local gem. Large cappuccino is definitely a favourite. Quirky spot, a favourite for breakfast. Students: the recession breakfast is a must! Great for friendly catch ups when you want to showcase the quirkier side of what Cape Town has to offer .( P.S if youre a Eggs-Bennie fan you wont be disappointed. )

How was cafe Honeybun? Sadly we didnt find out. Our reserved table was occupied by someone else who didnt look like they would move any time soon. We went down the road to Hello Sailor and had a great breakfast.

I really wanted to support this local cafe since its right next to where we are staying, but the smoothies we ordered had none of the fresh fruit they listed on the menu. I saw them preparing it and it was literally a blend of ice and mango juice. Not cool.

Drove all the way from Gordons Bay to breakfast here (after checking opening times) - when we got there we were informed the kitchen staff had not yet arrived (despite the fact that the the restaurant was open already). Once could understand the predicament if properly communicated, but unfortunately the lady at the counter had such a dismissive, rude attitude that she completely put us off from every coming back to try this place again.

Great place for morning breakfast and or coffee or a smoothie. I recommend the berry blaze smoothie. Very relaxed area with vibey music, there is also an option to sit outside.

The breakfast was very average and the coffee extremely bitter. Altough I understand the whole craft concept and different flavours of coffee, sometimes a normal Coffee does the trick... reverted to a pot of tea. It does have a lovely feel and nice vibe.

In a great corner location with good coffee. Unfortunately had to wait for an hour for breakfast due to an issue in the kitchen. Eventually had to cancell the food part of the meal.
