Great food, great service. Amazing views! Just all round nice place to go to. Slightly over priced but worth a visit

While looking for a spot with a lovely view of the sea, we stopped at this venue, with the intention of having a cup of coffee and enjoying the view. We were greeted at the door by a friendly waitress and showed to a table.After we had our coffees, we decided to stay and enjoy some lunch after all (the weather being unpleasant and us not wanting to be outside in the cold).Unfortunately, the coffees were where most of our positive experience ended, as we firstly had difficulty in getting the attention of our waitress who seemed more interested in chatting to the manager or her fellow servers while standing at the front door than attending to the patrons (which lasted throughout our visit and we eventually had to ask another waitress for our bill).Secondly we had to go to the bar to order a bottle of wine, and of course only 2 glasses arrived at our table (at which point we decided to just order, eat and leave).With the only menu being written on the wall, we selected a Moussaka and a Greek Lamb Salad.Thirdly, with the Moussaka, you could choose 2 of their salads. Our waitress showed me to a display case where they had bowls filled with delicious looking salads and sundries. After the 3rd salad I selected and being told that unfortunately that is part of their Meze selection (there were no clear indications to which were salads and which were Mezes – as there were plates that looked like salads but were part of the Meze selection), the waitress asked the Manager for assistance in identifying which were salads and which were in fact part of the Meze.The Moussaka was, although not very traditional was pleasant, albeit a bit bland.The choice of sides was the clear winner on this plate. The grilled vegetables were very tasty and well prepared as was the chickpea salad.For the salad, the Greek Lamb was prepared well but tasted like a normal roast one would have for Sunday lunch (we concluded that the Tzatziki on top was the Greek element of the dish and explained the reason for the name “Greek Lamb”). The vegetables used for the salad were fresh.Unfortunately, as luck would have it, with the 2nd last bite of the Moussaka, a hair poked out from under the mince. We brought this to the attention of the waitress and Manager, who then vehemently insisted that we get the item scratched from our bill. After explaining to him that we did not bring this to his attention to get something for free, we went on to explain our dismay of the poor service quality not only from the waitress allocated to our table but also from him (standing at the front door counter chatting to the ladies serving and not checking on the customers).The mediocre food (and ignoring the hygiene issue of the hair), bad service and having to give training to a manager of a restaurant does not qualify as a nice afternoon out. We are always willing to try any place for the first time but unfortunately our first experience will not warrant a second visit here

Beautiful quaint place with a wonderful selection of hot beverages, smoothies and fruity drinks. I tried their Swiss hot Chocolate and it was devine. Will definitely be coming back.

Great quality food, good service and friendly staff from when you walk in. Baked goods are freshly made. Very clean, wheelchair and pet friendly. Ample parking for cars and motors bikes.Good view of the bay and lighthouse, we will definitely return. Thank you.

Although you get bugged by the occasional passer by in the street if you choose to sit on the outer side of the café.. this is a very well situated café with a lovely view of the ocean and cool breeze blowing. Sometimes youd forget to order because you too busy taking pictures hehe. Overall its been a good lunch an just enjoying the space. There were lots of Distancing with seating didnt have any problems with other people sitting ontop of you while eating, so thats good 👍😎

Terrific cafe location on the beach road and opposite the lighthouse to work remotely, with facilities and plug points to charge your laptop, phone, etc and to hold business meetings. Great ambience and great views. They serve light healthy meals like salads, sandwiches and smoothies, but I fear its quite pricey.

I like this place as they serve an all day breakfast menu. The Greek breakfast was very nice. Its basically an English breakfast with Halloumi added.

I was not really impressed with this place. We arrived at 1pm on a Saturday and found many items not available or sold out. Unfortunately the items sold out were the items we would have liked to order. However, although initially sold out, they did make a plan when we wanted baklava. Delicious.

I love coffee and this is an easy place to do so.On this occasion it was particularly special being with my Grandparents as they intermittently ignored me to read the paper. I am able to have the most interesting conversations with them but now was not the time.This is an easy café to enjoy good conversation accompanied by very friendly (and good) service.With a great view of the promenade this is a great vantage point to enjoy the sport of people-watching (if you dont already enjoy the sea view)

Decent place. Food is ok. Parking can be busy. The deck isnt really stable so expect your table to move every time a waiter walks past. Shockingly not all breakfasts come with toast..despite the stiff price tag!

Amazing view, wonderful service, great coffee. (Im sure the rest is good also; Ive only had the coffee.) The outdoor area is the perfect place for a covid-friendly meeting in magnificent surrounds.

Not sure if management has changed recently. We were regularly there. Paper menus are old and dirty. The last 2 times Ive been there they didnt have croissants, which is on the menu. Owner seemed disinterested when we asked why our meals were taking so long. The place is cramped on a Saturday morning, causing a waiter to accidentally knock my friend with a chair. It was an unpleasant experience and we eventually left, without having received our food.

Lovely location opposite the lighthouse in Mouille Point. The terrace is a gem. The coffee is good, but the service is slow and inattentive. One has to order simple things twice as they don’t bring what one asks for. The waitresses also had an air of nonchalance and being bored.

Great vibe. Great view. Great coffee. Nice WiFi. They have a nice and long bench inside with multiple electric points to charge laptops.Didnt get to eat there, only coffee and it was great. Lots of light comes into the store so it feels like youre outside enjoying the breeze. The staff are very friendly too.

Lovely scenery, good food

Yet another place in Cape Town recommended by the locals. Very good baked cheese cake, other than that not too many desserts to choose from, unless of course you would count their outstanding crossaint as one. Great selection of salads and sandwiches. Prices for me are on the middle of the scale for the area. The only thing that was not my style was the amount of staff greeting you at the door (too many!), as if they were all waiting for you to go in... a bit overbearing if you ask me.

We went to enjoy our last breakfast meeting. Staff were friendly, food was tasty and good for vegetarians. Fabulous views. If you are opting for healthy foods this is definitely right up your alley. If your are a real sweet tooth this is not your dream destination. Salads I can recommend but must admit that I eat with my eyes and am all about presentation as this was missing and the plates were very bland looking I rated it three stars.

Nice outside area Covid friendly

Constructive feedback. Waiters seem to have a lack of drive. Everyone is slow and no one really has too much drive.I feel there is too many waiters on the floor and that in turn demotivates them and then there work (service) falls. Food is quick and seems consistent.I feel like they really need to take care of covid standards a bit more. Too many tables full and ontop of one another. And no spacing.

Great views, delish food a must visit

Was very disappointed, kitchen staff not wearing mask when preparing foods, also taking foods by hand and not wearing gloves, we are in the 3rd wave of covid and we need to take extra special precautions not just for ourselves but for everyones health and safety. Waited almost a half an hour on our food... Sorry will not visit here again. 👎👎

Lovely views, good hours, kind and helpful staff. Greek coffee is soooo good. Wish they made more Tiropita daily. Every Sunday afternoon when we have visited there, no Tiropitas were left.

Never had a bad experience with Cafe Neo.I tried their full Greek breakfast and have never had grilled haloumi that good before. Eggs were done exactly as asked and the coffee was great too. Little pricey but worth it if you feeling indulgent.

Lovely Greek cafe with the most divine roast veg and hummus sandwiches. Very impressed. The cafe has an amazing vibe and the waitrons are very pleasant, friendly and most helpful.There is also free wifi available which is always a bonus at any restaurant or cafe.

The coffee is good and the breakfast I had was okay, but failed to impress (I had the hot Greek breakfast). They have free wifi, a nice view and the wait is not too long for food.

This place looks the part, but I cannot say I experienced a good time in atmosphere and dining. My drinks menu I received was torn and wet, carribean kiss drink was waterish, roast beef sandwich was bland, my portion of fries was so hard a fork couldnt be of assistance, the only meal up to scratch was the other tuna sandwich I also ordered which barely scrapped the surface in terms of being good enough. It was my first time trying this place, the waiter visited my table 3 times, to seat me, to bring my order and when I called her to come over for the bill. My overall experience was negative and I would not return any time soon.

Didnt like this place at all the menu is on the wall so when sitting outside you have to walk in to see the menu they only give you a breakdast and smoothy menu they dont say what coctails of beer ons anything they have even though its not on the menu either not nice!

Perfect spot for what we were looking for. View. Great coffee. Good vibe but not chaotic. Suitably impressed with the pasta straw for my sorbet drink. Step up from paper straws. The cheese cake was delicious. There is a fair amount of parking in the vicinity. The wheelchair accessibility may not suit you as the ramp is fairly steep.

Lovely place with amazing prices for such a hot spot place. Did not eat anything however everything on the menu looked amazing as well as the food being served to the people around us. And they are pet friendly and creates a great vibe!!

Its a nice venue, with a great location near the promenade. The service is good, but the food is really average and, in my opinion, it ranks below what you expect when you pay to eat out. There is no love or passion in the food, just a really basic meal with no effort or creativity and a very limited menu. Its a pity as the place has so much potential. I would not go back again.

Cafe Neo has always had some interesting food selections. Great place though the occasional lapses in concentration by the staff are a distraction - e.g. sitting and waiting for several minutes while the place was practically empty to order a coffee and breakfast on a cold morning, while a number of staff were seemingly unoccupied was rather weird. Then taking for granted that we knew how the menu worked - only 1 of is did. I used to frequent Cafe Neo far more often but have just kinda learnt that its better for me to go to other places - the fellow patrons can have rather icy dispositions there, which is contrary to the general composure of places with similar or higher pricing in Mouille Point.

Good food, service and owner involvement you cant go wrong.

My wife and I went to Cape Town (from the UK) twice last year. We go here daily for brunch. The food and service are great. we are always well received by the staff. It is in a great location and we cant wait to return.

Very nice location, the food was okay but what me really shocked was that the waiter asked very rude for the 10 percent tip. I payed with credit card and had a calculation mistake. She was very rude and wanted the 10 % tip so I needed to give again my credit card in the card machine that the rude waiter can have her tip... that never happened to me before, That a waiter begin for money. You will definitely never see me there again!

This is your typical restaurant with a view kind of place. The location is great. The price is okay for its location. The quality of the food is unfortunately average at best. My meat balls were so salty i can barely tastes anything afterwards. It was also not very cooked on the inside. The coffee isnt good at all. Luckily the service was good. Come here for a snack with a pretty view but dont expect much.

So 1 star is for great service, our waiter Sandra was very helpful and the guys at the drink mixing bar was awesome.1 star is for good food, that was tasty and delightful. Although the food is a bit over priced for what you actually recieve.The reason they lost 3 stars is.1. The one restrooms toilet was clogged and wasnt working properly.2. I asked for a recommendation on what meal to take, and after they recommended a burger and I ordered it they came back and sorry they didnt have any available.3. I ordered another meal just to find out a couple minutes later that they didnt have that available either.They dont use plastic nor paper which is good for the environment, the menu is on a big black board on the wall and they use pasta as straws.I loved the service, but wont recommend the restaurant.

Dirty restaurant, coffee terribleService poor

Restaurant has a beautiful view of the Mouillie Point lighthouse and is close to the promenade. Service is friendly and normally efficient. Sometimes you have to spend time to get the waiters attention. Food is bistro style, nothing out of the ordinary. But then I havent tried everything.On my recent visit I found it strange that there was non non-alcoholic beer on offer. In times of Covid many people have changed their drinking habits and restaurants should keep this in mind.The only bottled water available was sparkling, so I opted for free tap water.
