Spar gives a milk tart when the purchase amount is R1500. Yesterday I purchased groceries there for R1497. I decided to give the milk tart to a very poor family as an act of goodwill during lock down.. Before I paid, I and asked the teller Chicco, if I could quickly fetch and add and pay for a chocolate or anything else, to make the final amount i R1500.His unfriendly, answer was that the purchase was done and that he was not prepared for me to add anything and even if I did add another product, that I could not get a milk tart. Aggressive tone of voice. I also spoke to the floor manager, Veronica, who was doing the packing at the same till and she refused. Her reason was that she then had to explain to the boss the next day why a chocolate (or anything) was added the the main purchase amount for which another receipt had to be added.There was no other manager that I could see. I do not eat milk tarts and this is so small but how sad that even a little effort is just to much for some.

Lovely place to shop, fruits and vegetables are always fresh and the displays of them are very creativeWould be nice if there was some more specific items. Was looking for some energ bars and could not find any, staff said not available here.Some tellers are very slow and not friendly when you talk to them. Some improvement on that would make a big difference to the imagine of spar

A good variety of products as well as fresh greens. Some items a bit pricy with comparison to other larger retail shops. The trading hours are quite nice, as you can go do shopping late evening after your day of work and other activities. Good service with friendly staff who always greet and assist.

Great variety of products. Staff all friendly, we did find some items over priced so did purchase these st type Otter supermarkets un the area namely Checkers. Pick n Pay and woollies which are slightly larger. So shop around first.

Shopping here is always a pleasure. The prices are always competitive and the specials are usually relative to popular purchase. The staff are friendly all around from the car gaurds outside to the cashiers inside, spear headed by the lovely manager, Gloria.

Probably one of the best Spars in the western cape. Amazing staff and great ready made food everyday.Has a breakfast roll sold outside which is a great way to start the day.

The Hout Bay Spar offers local and international products that offers convenience to shoppers. An added convenience benefit are the opening hours for busy / late night shoppers as this store is open late (9pm) even on Sunday.The opportunity to buy certain local specialty products such as Zoop! adds to the unique selection of items they sell. Sometimes their range can be limited in certain products compared to other supermarkets in different areas but they probably have the best selection in Hout Bay and I am almost certain if you enquire about a specific product the friendly staff would make an effort to source it should it be possible. This Hout Bay Spar also offers a decent range of fresh fruit and veg which is appealing to those looking to do all their shopping in one place.Their only downfall is the lack of convenient parking although in general this is not too much of a problem depending on when you shop.
