Very impressed with the new renovations, everything is so well organized and will definitely result in a shopping great experience. eg. The section for lights, not only offers a vast variety but everything is beautifully displayed, this really helps with decision making. The available stock is also immediately accessible in a rack beneath the display. Another great example is the isle with door handles, every handle has been displayed in a way where you can see it and test it. The isles are marked and one can easily identify the isle one needs. However, during my recent visits the staff were still busy packing shelves and it was really difficult to find help. It will also help if there is a visible Floorplan, especially when one is in a hurry or new to the store. I found the pay point a bit disappointing as it only had a teller, so I had to take each item out of trolley for packer to scan - please improve this. Congratulations on all the new changes, I am very impressed and really love all the signage.

Probably one of my favourite stores but busy renovating so was gonna do 3 stars but guess its not fair but it was a bit annoying that most of what I looked at had no prices due to renovations and moving around of stock. I guess it needs to be done sometimes. Enjoy my walks through here probably wouldve bought a few more things if there were prices so I guess its also a good thing haha

Its really best to shop elsewhere. Since going corporate the enjoyment of shopping there has become a nightmare. I now use Brights.

A pleasant experience overall when I applied for the builders card. The person at the toll-free number took my details over the phone. I went to the North Gate store were one of the cashiers patiently helped me comeple the logging in

This is a company which includes the store and head office, that teaches their delivery staff that if the customer signs indemnity form for delivery on the customer property, that they can destroy anything on the municipal property leading to the property of the customer and that they will not be held responsible or be liable for any damages outside of the customer property, because of an idemnity form thats meant for on the customer property delivery. If ever there is a next time which there wont be, I will rather let them deliver the products in the middle of the street. Its much safer and hassle free. From now on I will support only Build it as they have more common sense and on time delivery.I think that I will buy a build it franchise, take many of builders customers and provide a better and safer delivery service. I will definitely take some of there floor staff as they provided me with exceptional service atleast.

Non existent customer service. They need a rating of -5 stars. Staff cant help to find a product because they busy messaging on their phones. Just tells the customer to go look over there and continue messaging. Nobody even knows if they stock the product. Ill rather go spend my money elsewhere.

Im a long time supporter of Builders Warehouse. Multiple branches. Many positives and I have a long history with the brand. Much to like. 10 Years ago they were far ahead of the pack.. a DIY leader. Unfortunately this has changed over the last 4 years. Todays issue was a 1 Litre Plascon Polvin being sold for R225. Same product at competitors (at a non promo rate) priced at R139. This is quite common and clearly there are selective rip-offs in the store. Ive seen some paint over priced by R500. I enquired today about price matching and the discrepancy and was told they dont do that.. which is fine. I assume this strategy is by design. Lastly, their service is not where it needs to be. Brights and Bucco do a much better job. I will still shop are Builders, but check your pricing and hopefully the service improves. It needs to. The new layout is a nice change. Aisles are a bit closer together, but cleaner and more organised.

Massive builders conveniently located on the N1 with loads of stock but what they have in stock they lack in staff and capacity. On multiple visits I have been left wandering around for help and even the customer service desk shows disinterest. Shelf items are often misprised so check your slip for a suprise at checkout!

Well stocked for basics but they need more staff on the floor to help layman out. Its so hard to get advice or find help if you are not a builder.

Loads of stuff for sale. Spacious and convenient. Great for gardening supplies, some pet supplies, lighting, locks and key cutting, interior decorating, art supplies, power tools, plumbing supplies, building materials including bulk supplies of sand and stone. A good paint section and paints can be tinted here. Check out is almost always pretty quick. Service is friendly.

Builders is busy with renovations!!!Almost everything has been moved!!We were looking for a band saw blade and after 12 ,15minutes we found the isle with the help of 2 staff who tried their best to find these blades,sadly they were out of stock of the size we required. Good luck builders😜

Builders warehouse is perfect for the DIY person in me... If I need fix something at home, I usually pop around to get and they have great range of tools too. Among other useful item.

I bought materials for a clients commission and the service was friendly and very helpful. I needed to take an Indriver Cab home and the wood strips I bought was cut by a very helpful young man cut it in half with such accuracy, efficiency and professionalism. May you have a bright future❤️

Retail floor space is an absolute mess.Rather close up shop , effect changes and then reopen. This shopping experience is similar to being on a building site.Stay away !

I am normally very happy with goods recieved at builders. However please be aware that when ordering e.g. Blinds which needs to be installed by builders, it is done via a sub contractor. The installer gave me the run around changing appointment times then dates at their discretion. Even though we had agreed via builders regarding an installation date. So be prepared for a lot of frustration and time wasted. I suggest you find your own installer or install it yourself when choosing blinds at the store. Hope this helps the next person from being frustrated. Good luck

If you order something to be delivered/installed, dont expect it to arrive. Also dont expect them to contact you when you stay at home on the pre-booked day, and wait for the delivery and they decide to change the delivery date. Three times. You have to contact them. Shocking service and lack off respect shown for customers time.

Check your sizes very carefully. 50% off garden section means a few tiles marked down. What’s with the giant shambles of stock scattered across the back?! Amongst the ever elusive staff are a few stellar individuals but there is a lot of “oopsies hehe”. Uniforms gone. The boerieroll stand is the best part of a trip there

A very pleasant experience. They have a huge amount of stock in every category imaginable. Loads of goodies you didnt even think you needed but you buy them anyway. Im general the staff can be a bit hit and miss when you ask for help. Some are amazing whilst others leave a bit to be desired. That would be my only constructive criticism. Otherwise its a great places for most of your home and garden needs. Conveniently central as well.

Shop is in an absolute shambles. Stuff everywhere, almost no staff on the floor and no pricing on items. Impossible to shop. If you are moving things around, please do it properly row for row and shelf for shelf.

This is a big builders! Its huge and if you feel overwhelmed, the staff are happy to spend the time helping you find exactly what you need. My only criticism is that some items I needed were not available here meaning I had to make another trip to another shop to get the specific item. Great shop but phone first if you are looking for a specific specialty item.

Worst service ever.. First sent me to the wrong department.. Im still standing at plumbing now and this guy says my list of items I want is too much here at plumbing.. Telling me they cant do these type of items on a weekend.. Pooor poor poor service.. Really ruined my whole day...

I went to this branch this morning and received the best service that I have EVER received in any store, let alone a hardware store. The person responsible for my unmatched shopping experience was Brian Botha. He was knowledgable, friendly and showed me where the items were that I was looking for. It was the first time that I went to this branch and will most definitely return!

Terribly disorganised store. Ridiculously slow delivery. Waited 3 weeks for items that were supposed to be delivered in 3 days.

I had the most wonderful service from Northgate Builders Warehouse today. A lady came to help me in the timber section; she was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Then she directed me to a helpful man in the fasteners section. She helped me with my trolley and the long lengths of timber. Finally she handed me over to a man who helped me pack the lengths of timber into my car. This he did with great care. Thank you for making my shopping experience so easy.

Customer service is poor, had to wait almost an hour to be assisted. I profer parow builders they are more helpful.

After spending 35 minutes waiting in the yard waiting for 2 lintels I drove off without my goods and got them from Buco. Their yard needs organising. Its crazy.

Some articles need sorting, so that the oversight is better. Otherwise it is well stocked at reasonable prices.

Tried shopping online for a defy priced at R995, the site works not allow me to place the order. Had to go into store to purchase only to be charged at the till R1195. I explained that the online was not working and the price listed is R995 and therefore thats what i must be billed. I was told thats the online price and the higher price is in store price. Thats is unacceptable. Builders you have lost a client in me. I walked out without taking the item.

Ordered 2 sunloungers. After 2 weeks still not delivered. Called the head office and the guys exact words were he doesnt know where my order is and cant track it anywhere. Promised to arrange the manager from Northgate branch to call me. Alas no one has called me 3 days later. Completely amateur service. Would never order from them again. Too many better options out there.

What a disgrace to customer service and incompetent management on top of that.I went to collect a door on 14 March 2021. When the door was brought to my car, I the person who brought it to me that the width be confirmed before I loaded it up.The assistant didnt know what I was talking about and kept giving me the product name as a response. I asked him to get the manager.After a while, I eventually I got the manager on duty to assist me by measuring the door which he himself confirmed was the correct door.However, when I got home and measured the door myself, I found that it was not the correct width at all.When I called to complain about this, I could not be transferred to the store for some technical reason.I am still waiting for the call back.

Very disappointing. I have given Builders Warehouse a huge amount of business over the years and understand that sometimes things can go wrong. I will not support the Northgate Island branch again. Poor service in store with nobody to assist in the garden division. Then no delivery as arranged as the store did not have stock and had not yet sourced the items 5 days later. The final straw was when despatch put down the phone during the conversation.

The staff are super friendly and helpful with any assistance regarding building materials to paint to Gardenware.

The staff are very helpful, dont be shy to ask questions they will definitely help you.

Always so difficult to order just a couple bags of sand and stone. Ottery have barcodes at the cashier that can ring up so many more items just to make your life easier. Why do you need to go stand in a que at a building counter

Very bad online service. Its 21 June, and I am still waiting for a delivery that was scheduled for 14 June - which I had placed the order on 1 June. No communication on delivery plans or why it is delayed. Even after emailing them, they are not very responsive to the matter. I had to go in-store and they assured me delivery will take place on 21 June, but nothing has come. Very disappointed customer.

Ok so i was in your store earlier today to buy a post box there was 3 in stock and below it was a price sticker for R255 over it and not covering the price was another sticker while standing there deciding to take it 1 of the staff decided to help me then he told me that the product i actually wanted was more than the price im seeing according to him its R550 i then asked to speak to a manager who rudely told me No he will not reduce the price in anyway ive bought so many tools there lately and quite frankly wont be going back i will rather support a different store DIY in Brooklyn as far friendly staff in there store im so disappointed i didnt take any pictures

Store was reasonably busy. Had to ask a few staff members for assistance before eventually getting the help I required. Queuing times were ok. Cashier took a bit of time to ring through our items, as 1 of the items was incorrectly priced, so always check your receipt. Overall it was a satisfactory shopping experience.
