When we arrived there, their waiter said their menu is not updated, so we couldnt get certain items ( vegan items). Portion size is great & quite filling. Food was tasty but the eggplant Parmigiano was very oily as seen on photo. My favorite part about this restaurant is beautiful view of table mountain and delicious cappuccino. Please update your menu and provide more veg options.

Wanted to try this place after seeing it on Somebody Feed Phil. It has lots of delicious treats inside from fresh baked banana bread, croissants and Much more. The food was delicious but served items that were not fresh. Sharing images of the dried out tomatoes. That’s not nice. Also, the problem is with the service which was very slow and we had to check up on the food but no one told is it was taking a while. Wont be running back anytime soon.

Love this little gem. Most amazing view of Table Mountain whilst you sip on their amazing coffee and have a bite to eat. Their food is always delicious, their carrot cake and pasteis de nata is to die for and they have so many great home products and gifts to choose from. Theres so much on offer at this lovely little café.

This establishment is really still like the old Melissas. I used to work at Melissas Du Toitskloof and really enjoyed seeing this one again. However, it was a very quiet Saturday, but the waiter took 30 minutes to take my order and the milkshake was very disappointing, as I know how it should taste because I used to make them myself at Du Toitskloof. Situated perfectly, but needs to work on service.

Entertainer brought us here on 2 occasions, each time hoping things would be better as wasting such a view would be sad. The service is hit and miss, even though the waitresses seem to be trying their best. The food is mediocre, nothing spectacular. Oily slap chips instead of crispy thin fries. Wraps underwhelming. Salmon and poached eggs plain and lacking excitement. As mentioned, the view of table mountain is second to none. Place has good potential, will try it a few more times before giving up.

Food and drinks were great! Unfortunately the SERVICE not so much. I have eaten at Peppertree twice and each time the waitress was lacking politeness and friendliness. Everyone has a bad day and thus I understood the first time, but after the second time this definitely effected my support towards Peppertree in the future. It is a waste that such a cute café with great atmosphere is let down by its service.

Not a great experience at all! I ordered the hash browns with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. I understand it’s a Saturday but waited 30 minutes for my food to arrive. When I finally got it there was no bacon or hollandaise sauce. The two reasons I ordered that meal. Everything on the menu is over priced and the portions are embarrassingly small. R28 for a flat white is really pushing it too. There are much better options around steer clear of Melissa’s. It’s a rip-off.

Updated review: Not impressed with the hike in prices. Bold sign outside declares come in and try our new menu!!. Unfortunately the only thing new is the price of the vegan breakfast from R89 to R129.Wait time for 2x breakfasts has been 15min so far and the restaurant is around 20% full.Sorry guys, its been a good run, good views and people, but gonna have to go elsewhere. Im priced out your market :(7 months back: (5 stars)The VX vegan breakfast is a winner. Consistently good and insane value for money in terms of the amount of food you get. 10/10Pictures below from 7 months back.

Absolute disregard for the mandatory requirement to wear masks in public/when serving guests. No sanitation stations visible, menus passed around without any vague attempt at wiping, sanitising. Waiters and front of house physically removed masks when speaking to clients up close - and were offended when requested to please stand back a tad and cover their nose with mask. All this with food and pastries exposed? Wont see me back. Go at your own peril.

Shocking service, bad attitude, no protocol being followed! Arrogant little manager came storming out from his office went on a rampage and attacked a customer when he was questioned why staff are not wearing masks, also pointing out that the one lady was scratching in her ear behind the counter!Toilets dirty, kitchen area have this stench with kitchen staff also not wearing masks. Most of the display product e.g. cakes, croissants, etc just standing open.No sanitizer nor temp checks done. This is a prime example of what should not be done in these times. What a disgrace to the hospitality industry!

Hi there,I would like to give Bernard and his lovely team a huge thumbs up for sorting out the music. It was sorted out the next day after I left the review. The atmosphere is great and the place is buzzing.Thank you!Hi thereCould management please look into the music selection in the mornings or in general. There are so many great coffee shop selections available that is suited for a shop like this. The Melissa selection was perfectly suited for a coffee shop and fit in with the overall feel of the shop. (something they got right)At the moment it sounds like I am in a sleazy club in the Med and I am not the only regular who is complaining about this. It has been raised but nothing has changed.Come on guys it is not hard to sort this out. Thanks

Apart from the great view of Table Mountain from the terrace... Our experience was not that great. Although a few days before Xmas, the service was slow, with apologies... Looked like a good place. Zero welcome though. Staff member behind the till looked blank when we asked for menus. Sat outside for 15-20min without being acknowledged. Left and spent money somewhere else. Public holiday so pretty busy but maybe extra staff or the till staff could help on the floor instead of being a cardboard cutout. International city with mega money to be made in hospitality. Service/system needs a look at.

Entertainer led us to this lovely streetside cafe. The breakfast was delicious. We shared two dishes-the salmon Benedict with perfectly poached eggs and thick salmon on Bavarian brown toast with a delicious hollandaise sauce. The second dish was homemade fruit salad with Greek yogurt, honey and delicious crunchy, nutty granola. The freshly squeezed juice was lovely. It was an intimate setting with quality food and good service. They handled loadshedding so well!

Review №66

Been coming to this place for years on and off, hadnt been for about 6 months and was really disappointed, firstly the vegan scramble that use to be good value went up almost 45% from R89 to R129 and the portion size seemed smaller, tiny amount of avo and scramble.Service was so poor, after sitting, it took someone 10 mins to bring us menus and then we waited almost 40 mins for our food, place wasnt too busy, in that time no one came to check up on us, or ask if we want another coffee or drink. You have to flag down some one to get any help. You could see other tables (mainly outside) experiencing the same service and their frustration trying to get service, as the staff mainly hover inside. This is has been the case on many of previous visits, more often that not.Place has a lot of potential with the location and view of Table Mountain, but you guys desperately need a manager who knows what they are doing to run the restaurant and train/guide the staff. Manager was no where to be seen.

This is a great spot for an after-work relax session, especially if you travel to Cape Town city centre from the Southern suburbs (against heavy afternoon traffic). There is somehow always parking, which is mostly a rarity for Cape Town. Other than great magazines and current newspapers to relax with, most importantly, you have WiFi that works. The staff is always friendly and interact serviceably with customers. The coffees (vegan friendly as they offer both almond and soy-milk) and food are on point. But mainly, you can relax with a truly perfect view of Table Mountain.
