Would like to say a big thank you to Mike in the bird section. Very knowledgeable, friendly, informative and willing to share/assist. I have not had someone to ask about my parrot, that had the answers like he did in the 25 years I have had it. We have frequented the shop several times and always have a similar experience.

Nice and vibrant pet store with a huge variety of products. My interest lies in aquatics, and Ive been very happy with the service I received. Staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The store generally has a really nice energy. This morning a macaw joined the staff on their rounds through the store, and provided lots of entertainment to visitors. The fish/plants Ive bought so far have been healthy and robust. I was especially impressed when I overheard a staff member give a family really good and reasonable advice on setting up a new aquarium without pushing expensive or unnecessary products -- to me that is a good sign of a store caring more about their customers than about their profits. Even if you dont buy anything, Id encourage you to visit them and see all the amazing stuff on display :)

I never had the opportunity to meet Nadine or Guy but their managers Michael and Cassandra and staff are just wonderfull. This is definitely the place to go for live aquatic plants a tremendous range of fish and even a few Bear Hamsters and rats that were in Quarantine and of course the bunnies which are just the cutest. To me a measure of the salt of the business is the cleanliness of cages and in this store they are SUPER CLEAN you alway see someone cleaning surfaces and class tanks and parakeet covers. Well done on such an amazing range of food, treats and cat furniture too. The best kept pet store secret in Cape Town and well worth the drive from Cape Town. Definitely not to miss if ever in Somerset West or shopping at Somerset Mall.

Some of the staff just have no customer support.... There is one dude that helped us with our chameleons setup... Pity I cant remember his name.... But he is knowledgeable and professional.

Had a terrible experience today. Tried to go and buy some fish and supplies. Started off well with the lovely puppies at the front up for adoption, but once I got to the fish, it was all downhill. There were so many people looking for help, there was a guy there helping this family who had recently bought fish from there and they all died. I also gave some advice. The shop assistant said excuse me quickly and never came back. Then another young guy pitched up but he was not in uniform, but eventually said hed help as no-one else was there. When I asked where the assistant went, he said on lunch. What? While busy helping a client?? So I then put down all my stuff because I would have to wait too long and walked out. Please look at your cameras and see at about 12.30. So I couldnt buy my fish or supplies (couple of grand) and will need to go somewhere else. Dont think I will be coming back here, we need people who care about us and our pets.

Went to Vetworld to have our cat neutered. They had the best prices of 4 other local vets I contacted. They even offered extra advice regarding a concern and sorted it out during the same operation for a minimal fee. I was even more surprised when I received a phone call a day later enquiring how our pet was doing. Very impressed.

Their service were great, I was so worried about my cat and they really took great care of him and even gave advice afterwarda via whatsapp.

Very good array of pet related products and fish species, lacking a bit with their selection of birds but their reptiles are impressive and so is their service. I have found it difficult sometimes to get assistance as they are occasionally understaffed and have had unpleasant experiences with one staff member but this is not their normal and my overall experience is very good.

Please do not support this business. Went for the first time today and left without making a purchase after seeing this visibly ill bunny. This is horrendous.

A Somerset West secret, nothing fancy but great atmosphere outside, inside is a bit bland. The beer is cold, the food ok and the ribs are very good. Outside you can sit right next to the river under some stunning big trees, I love it. Some evenings there is some live music outside, fun👍

I am very happy and satisfied that they reached out to me in order to rectify the matter. I went back to the store and spoke to the Assistant manager who assisted with a refund for the overpriced amount.I am thanking them in this regard and highly appreciate your professionalism.(Compliant: I was kind of disappointed that I went to buy a dog bed. The price marked was on the item was way less than what it actually was when I got to the till. The only response when I queried this was that they increased their prices recently and did not change it on the item. A price increase of almost 17% was kind of ridiculous. And this was on a bed that should have cost me around R 485 or so.The only reason I bought it was because of the line that was behind me and that I was holding up the line and did not want to make a fuss. I brought this to the lady’s attention and all she did was look at me and say it is because of a price increase. I mentioned again that this is the marked price, but she just stated that it was an error.I learned that the price you see is the price you pay, and I feel that they do not comply with this.You can not let a costumer pay a price when it was clearly marked less. Unfortunately I will not be supporting them any longer.)

There were no one around to guide and provide information on any of the fish or accessories for tanks. The 2 show tanks were teeming with fish and poorly set up. Most of the shop staff were clustered around a nice young woman instead of doing what they were hired for, which is selling items to possible customers.This establishment has great potential. Have the correct sales staff who really want to work and fire the rest!

A very large store with everything you need for your pet. Took my Toy Poodle in for grooming. Gave her a pretty professional looking poodle cut. Highly recommended this place.

Not happy at all with the treatment we received my dog was so distressed and i voiced my opinion to the shop assistant and manager. Only to get home and find that two of my dogs nails were not cut. The groomers were trying their best. During the time my dog was being groomed they brought in a pit bull for a wash and nail clipping she to was totally distressed and messed herself the groomer attending to Rose had to leave to wash the dog.Her appointment was at 12H00 we left at 14:45 she had not been to the toilet and who even knows if she was given any water. This is the second time. No interest but an apology from managerment

Always a pleasant experience when visiting Groom World, Pet World or Vet World. Reasonable pricing for grooming and veterinary checks/procedures.

They do not keep enough stock in the branches to buy a months supply of catfood, and often out of stock on the brand we use. To order online takes more than a week for delivery.

Im disgusted I walk in to go look for bird supplies and I always go to say hi to their birds I then come across one of their very small cages with a dying cocktail in it, I told a lady that worked there and left, no care for their animals! I will not support pet world.

Multiple people have addressed petworld on their lack of providing adequate homes for their fish, birds and rats, hamsters, etc. As well as the need for them to stop selling animals with inadequate enclosures and lack of accurate care instructions. They havent made any changes that I am aware of and every time I go in to she shop I still see them abusing animals and selling them with inadequate enclosures. For this I wanted to give 0 star.One of the employees will agree with customers that the petshop is not providing proper care, products or knowledge when selling animals and that they intentionally sell animals with enclosures that are too small.For this employees honesty and care for animals I will add 2 stars.Total : 2 stars
