Absolutely disinterested staff at the tills and where one would request products behind the tills. One helpful short young blonde lady at the till. Staff look miserable. No knowledge of the products that I enquired about. One would expect advice on alternatives. Besides this, the store sells live tortoises for R2500 each which is horrific. Should they not be left in nature. How are buyers screened and why does Cape Nature Conservation allow this.

There was no service, standing for 20 min at the reptile area while emloyee talked with a client about a fish, when asked if someone else can assist me, I was advised he is the only one and continue with client. Did not even offer to get me someone else to assist me.

Morning,I just purchased a Hamster, cage and accessories at your N1 branch, Lee-Anne served myself and my son she was the most brilliant, friendly helpful person I have ever encountered in any shop EVER!!!!I explained it was my sons birthday and she helped us choose the most adorable Hamster and made my son feel so special. The n1 city branch needs more staff. They are rushing around trying to help as many customers as they can. The store gets very busy on weekends. We were helped by a lovely lady who helped us the last time and even remembered us. We went to buy a harness but not much stock as shipment hadnt come in yet. There needs to be more variety. Your online store has way more advertised than what is available in store. Lastly we had a look at your dog beds and found them to be way overpriced and catering for wealthy customers who want a super expensive plush dog bed. You can go next door to Chinatown and get something way cheaper for half the price. Overall shop is very clean and staff friendly and willing to assist when they can.

The name Petworld is appropriate. Very big and full of all sorts of domestic animals. Can even just take your child to show some animals.. Or perhaps do it wisely because they would wanna leave with them all 🤠 Super helpful staff. Animal lovers always are

Maybe got there on a bad day. Maybe 10 dead fish in the tanks. Waited n substantial amoumt of time for some help at the fish tanks due to a lack of staff. Two of the panda Corys we bought died the next day.Otherwise they have a good fish selection and decent prices for fish. Other aquarium extras are rather over priced.Hoping for a better experience next time.

After checking reviews, I found the pricing problem did not just happen to me. today is my second time to experience the different price with tagging and sale point.(although today they took all the price tags, and I asked a staff for price, it is still different with what I paid for.) last time was two weeks ago. then I spoke to the manager, she just explained they are changing the price, with no expression on the face. she asked me what do I want from them??? All I want to do is bring their attention, and clearly they dont understand. I mean I told them it is the second time already, after two week they are still busy with putting the right price, hope they can make it correct soon. Beside this, we love this shop, and the staffs are friendly and helpful.

Postponing my appointments only to cancel and rebook due to sharpening of their blades.Pathetic uneven cut to my poor Yorkie, if you are not able to trim specific breeds rather advise your clients and allow them to support a business who actually can. I had to rebook my Yorkie at another grooming parlor to fix the cut he got from Petworld.I will never return to this institution neither will I advise anyone to make use of their services.I strongly suggest you close your grooming side of your business, you are not doing anyone any favours.

If you sign up for the rewards program and loyalty card you will get a little bit of discount, just like every other store that wants your Personal Info.The pet food division has very friendly and knowledgeable staff.I was put off by another division, when looking for a small terrarium to house my sons gecko they didnt have what I was looking for so they tried to pressure me into buying a much larger snake terrarium, only suitable for a gecko the size of a fully grown python.

We were there about 2 weeks ago to purchase some fish. Was absolutely appalled at the number of tanks that had dead fish in it! One tank even had a dead Siamese fighter fish in which is a rather large fish - how can you not see that and remove the body?One of the tanks had a cory feeding on the dead body of a smaller type of fish.The excuse we got was that it was due to the couriers not delivering on time?! Please remove the dead fish from the tanks as it is both upsetting to see and seems to affect the quality of your fish. Two of the cory fish we purchased died - and we did follow the usual process of integrating the fish into our tank.

Very dissapointed in the treatment of the Betta fish 😔 The flow in the tanks is way too strong. The lights are too bright. There are too many other small fish in with them.They are Vissibly distressed!X3 of them had fins that were in Terrible condition.As someone who keeps Betta fish this Really made my heart sore to see those little babies suffering 💔

I wanted to give them a better rating, but I am SO upset with my recent frozen mouse experience 😢. When thawed it smelled ghastly, and upon further inspection it was already decomposing before it got frozen. I am appalled. Grosss

I went to Petword XXL to buy the basics for my budgies, a flight bird cage that would give them ample space, a selection of bird toys, and some budgie seed mix.I will say that Im happy with how clean the store is and the selection available, I do wish there were better selections for flight cages at different prices.I loved looking at the birds there as well. they all seemed to be healthy, although I do think the dowel perches should be traded out for more natural perches to avoid bumblefoot and the weakening of their feet.

Lady at the front desk wasnt very much informed, much less bothered.Stock variety is great and the pricing not too outrageous.After she made an announcement someone came to help me cost an item.Would drive a bit further for better service to be honest.I know its just a pet store but if youre there, then actually BE there.

This is a fantastic pet store. Larger than most, well stocked, lots of choices, quick moving queues and helpful staff.

I purchased an aquarium for R6000 from their online store. I was subsequently told that the price was wrong on their website, and that it was supposed to be R10000 (not that it makes much of a difference, but I knew at the time that 10k for that tank was a ridiculous price). After a week or two of empty promises from Pet World and the N1 branch, they told me that the best they could do was refund my money, because they couldnt uphold the sale.Today, I sent to Pet World and found that they were selling the exact same tank for R5000. Clearly they were just BSing me with their attempts to uphold the online sale. Theres no way that the price of the tank halved in 2 months.

A little frustrating that trolleys a refundable R2 for use... Not that I mind the money but one has to walk all the way back to the store to return it. Not too many carguards around or I would be happy for them to keep the R2.Had to make sure I could carry whatever I bought

Very bad service received from the N1 City branch. This would be the 3rd time I purchased 40kg of dog food and no body will help me carry it to my car, so I had drag it to my car... Again! This after I have asked for assistance. I will not support them in the future.

I was thinking long and hard about writing this review, because for the first time I have been disappointed on a level that is just sad. The premises was perfect, clean, and very welcoming. The animals looked healthy and made you want to buy them and take them home. Then we get to the staff, or should I say lack of assisting staff. There was one assistant at the fish department which I needed help with. He was busy with a customer and I was happy to wait. After he had finished, he took out his phone and checked messages. I had to ask him for help😡😡😡.I showed him some pictures on my phone of a problem I was having in my tank, and he said he had no clue what the cause could be, while still chatting on his own phone😡😡😡. I was told he would get one of his colleagues to assist who had better knowledge, and when he returned, it was without this colleague. Without having seen the pictures or hearing my explanation, this expert colleague of his said I had nothing to worry about. A week later, and all my fish are dead.I am more disappointed at the lack of service than I am angry and sad that I lost R1000 worth of fish, which to Petworld XXL N1 City might be just a drop in the ocean.

The floor staff seem so uninterested. And the availability to grab attention is scarce.Felt so unwelcomed. Will not return mainly for this.

A well stocked petstore, that is extremly over priced. The amoint of animals available at the store, especially their fish is impressive, but when the salesman wants to sell you a 100% normal female siamese fighter as a fancy double tail male for R350 its hilariously shocking.We bought an actual male double tail for R45 elsewhere....Make sure you know the market value of items or animals before visiting the store.

For its size, the store is pretty average. Not a great selection (I was looking for dog products) and honestly if you know what youre looking for you would be better off shopping online for most items as this store is quite expensive. We went to get some cherry shrimp for our fish tank and the staff member who got the shrimp for us handled them so harshly that all of them were in shock going in and out of consciousness on the drive home, and one- which died in the store, was still sold to us- affirming that it was stressed . And I dont really blame it. It was pretty cruel treatment in my opinion and we wont be returning ever again.Update: less than 24 hours later and another shrimp is dead. Also one of the two zebra snails we were sold looks dead too. Im honestly livid. Half of the (expensive) stuff we have bought has literally gone down the drain.Update: still less than 24 hours later and the third of the four shrimp we bought is dead. Please, I urge everyone, do not buy aquatic species from this shop!!!!!

The one reef tank had microbubbles cause of an empty sump no one considered looking at it, if you are so careless, dont bother, rather close your store.

Absolutely wonderful store. Everything available under one roof and the store is clean. I purchased an African Grey and was assisted by a lovely lady named Nakita who was super helpful. She even availed herself on whatsapp to answer questions once I got home. If it wasnt for her my rating would be 3 stars because the staff were not very welcoming. I purchased my African Grey, the cage and toys and as I left not one of the staff offered assistance. The staff definitely could do with some people skills training. Thank you Nakita for your wonderful service. It was highly appreciated.

WORST PET SHOP IVE EVER BEEN TO, a few months ago I took one of my fish here to ask if they could find him a new home as he was too big for my fish tank. Instead of telling me that they couldnt help me and telling me to go somewhere else, they took my fish and threw him in a giant tank to be eaten. As an animal lover this broke my heart, seeing him die when he was perfectly healthy and beautiful, I really care for all my fish very much - I would have gone to a different pet store if I had known that they were this cruel, the man helping me couldnt have cared less about this little creatures life. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!I recommend panorama pet shop, as this place is just a business, they dont actually care about you or your pets!!!!!!!

I took my friends rabbit to get his nails clipped, the staff were really friendly, kind and helpful. They were efficient and worked really quick to get me in and out. My first time there and a good experience and Ill definitely go back, also on dealing with the other animals, their staff was not afraid of the animals, and worked swiftly.

This is where I get my dogs groomed and get their food, snacks and toys.

Unfortunately i had to delete my first review. The worst experience ive had since i started the hobby 7 years back. The willingness of the personnel is non existent price through the roof and 99 persent of the tanks are either dirty or dead fish laying everywhere. The fact that you have to basicly beg to get some service if you are willing to pay the extreme prices has just made me wonder why im even there.It just so happens that i came across the guy doing advertisement for Pet World and let me tell you no matter how much you spend on advertisement if you are not willing to serve customers with a smile and just do a little bit if effort in making clients happy they are most likely to pay more for the product due to the service.I will not put my feet there again even if its the last place on earth selling fish.

Fish were all sick.. no hamster to buy and rabbits were sold.. so my little grandchild was too small to understand that she wont get her promised gift... we walked out empty handed...sad sad sad.. how could I explain the disappoint to a 3 year old. I walked to the pet shop at Game.. carrying my grandchild as I was dropped off at pet world. We ended up buying 2 budgies... one sad and miserable experience at pet world. An attendant told me that customers should phone in advance if the want to purchase fish... hamsters or rabbits...

I had the most wonderful service there and going next month to get my other hamster there
