Going in you would think that Barristers Grill just for drinking, but go inside go be amazed. They have a place for both just chilling and drinking and a middle and back where you can enjoy a quiet time with loved ones. The waiters took longer than expected to help us. My boyfriend even had to get up and find on. I love that they had beer on tap, always great to have that, it comes in handy. I was eating the ribs and honesty It was mere, nothing spectacular. But what I did like is that thry have many other options from burgers to pizzas to breakfast to stakes. They hsve many options. I will sure go back to taste other, perhaps they might not be good with the ribs but excell in something else. Its a total vibe and they have a Monday special which is super cool.Still much to explore so il be back for more reviews. Otherwise overall it as a good experience.

We went there twice, the food and service are excellent. They even asked if we had any food allergies, very important in todays world.

Fast and friendly staff. Security at the front is also friendly and helpful. The menu caters for all tastes so theres a little bit for everyone. Parking outside is a bit of a mission and tight when the delivery trucks pull in. If you dont mind walking...park a little further up the road and walk. The fire place was lovely, kept us nice a toasty the whole time there.

A long overdue visit to Barristers after many years. Good meal and service but unfortunately we were seated in an inside room with only one other couple.Will be more careful when to visit again to ensure a better table.

After our hike at Cecilia Forest, we wanted to have lunch at this place. The doorman informed us that they have reserved seats for the rugby which was starting at 5pm and that we are welcomed to sit at the reserved seats however they would need us to move when 5pm arrived. We informed him that we wont be that long (we arrived at like 2h45pm). We decided to be seated inside. After 15/20 minutes has passed we were not served. The people across from us was served and the waiters as well as the doorman all just passed our table. My friend who at the time already had a migraine was very much upset because we already made up our minds as to what we wanted and were literally waiting to be served. Note that the establishment didnt seem that busy at the time. My friend got very upset and we left, the doorman didnt even apologize or speak to us. Terrible service.

By far, the worst restaurant Ive been to in Cape Town thus far. The service was subpar, the interior decorating is so outdated with a very dull atmosphere. And thats not even the worst of it. The food was absolutely atrocious, they served me cold spaghetti bolognaise, that tasted like it was last weeks dinner. It just seemed like the restaurant as a whole didnt care to give us good service or a good experience.

Had an afternoon flight and stopped by this lovely place for a breakfast. Not much to say about it. Great staff and great food. Coming back the next time Im in Cape Town.

We arrived an hour early. The owners reached out to us in the most friendly way and accomodated us. Super friendly and family vibe. Breakfast and coffee were good and prices are reasonable!Will I go back again when in the area? For sure! Supporting those who love what they do! First time we visited in many years, perhaps a decade. Starter crumbed mushrooms was great but the 2 main ribs was a disappointment. Also had a bug ran over table. Recall better experiences. Otherwise still good ambience/decor.

I have visited Barristers many time over the last 30 years and was looking forward to relaxed evening with some clients. The bar was great, warm friendly and most enjoyable. The restaurant was sadly underwhelming, the decor is a little tired, our expensive red wine served in little white wine glasses, undersized steaks and my was served with same sauce as my chicken liver starter…. complete with the samebacon bits. Little disappointing.

After booking we arrived and were told at the door that they do not take bookings for the section we booked in. Host then went to go and check ages later a waitress came and asked if we wanted to sit down. The waitress was very friendly and the service was fast. The food was tasty and the steak cooked correctly the first time. All in all, a pleasant experience.

My favourite local! Pub culture isnt big in SA so I really appreciate Barristers. Inexpensive, but quality food, cold pints, a great selection of wine and local liquors to tickle your fancy. Pop by for a R65 pub lunch (steak, egg & chips, bangers & mash, schnitzels, etc.) or book a table in the back restaurant for a wider menu. Jazz on a Sunday evening to wind the weekend up, great spot, well priced, good service. 👌🏻

Good service but thats where it ends. Had ribs and chicken gordon blue, not good at all. Ribs are dry and arrived cold. Basting on ribs does not have a good taste. Crumb separates from the chicken that is not tender.

Your good old English pub. Food is not spectacular but it’s not bad either. Service is good, prompt. It has an old feel to it. Not a bad wine list. If you like sports there is ample spaces to have a good place and enjoy the game. There is outside seating in the summer months and the winter has fire places around. If you are looking for a lunch special they host a all week lunch special. But don’t expect gourmet food
