Their bottle store need to learn how to ensure their customer packets dont break. The tellers didnt secure my packet and they split open as I walked out. The manager couldnt care less about replacing the broken bottles.

Love the makeover, the store looks amazing. My super favorite helpful staff member was Olwethu, who was so friendly and was happy to go check if there was some more stock of a sale item he could bring out, as there was none left on the shelf. He made my day! 😁👍

Initially I was impressed with the new layout and products.However, the staff - particularly those doing shopping, are rude and barge in front of instore customers.I also noted with grave concern how Covid 19 social distancing is not practised at the express till, at Starbucks kiosk or by the staff shoppers.Two Horizon trolley attendants had no masks at all. One was cleaning the trolleys while his mask was tied around his wrist.The majority of the staff have their faces exposed despite having masks and visors. The visors are pushed up and the masks are pulled down. No one at the bakery was wearing their masks fully, yet they are working with food.Staff huddle in small groups chatting with no social distancing evident.The tills are closer to each other than 1.5 m so no social distancing there either.I brought this to the attention of a manager, but I noticed the same circumstances during my subsequent visit.This store is a potential superspreader of Covid 19 and I would rather have less choice, but better safety and shop at Graanendal Pick n Pay instead.

This is such a friendly and helpful store - their selection is superb!

The staff are unfriendly. You ask them something, they barely look at you, and then just walk away. You are miraculously expected to know that this means you can follow them. Until they dissappear into the storage room without saying a word. Quite a frustrating experience!

My 5 stars all goes to Nomaza. Our family has enjoyed her lovely nature almost every day when my kids were still in school in Durbanville. I visited het at the coffee counter a few days ago. She made my cuppachino EXACTLY like I always liked it and asked about my kids on their names. A 5 star lady!!! Checkers is blessed to have her!

I was there this morning before 8am and waited 10min for them to open but nothing. The website says they open at 8am till 9pm. I was confused and thought were their hours wrong. Its not cool if you say a specific time and dont open at that time. It was my first time going there and wasnt very impressed.

Good dayThe above store has a special if you by a toasted sandwich and a Cafe mocha it is R25. I asked the lady if I may have the cafe mocha without the chocolate. She refused and the manager refused. I was really disappointed seeing that I did not ask to receive something extra but rather I would have saved the shop the expense of the chocolate powder serving.I walked out and took my business elsewhere.Hannelie van Niekerk

Would of given this a higher rating, but its a low 2 stars for me as it was quite unappetizing to find flies on the hot food and at the bakery area.I really wish this checkers branch was more conscious of flies. Who knows how long they are on the food. This is in both the hot foods area, and the bakery where the confectionery foods are. Needless to say, I didnt get anything.

This is the 3rd time this year i buy Chicken Wings that it is off! Previously it was drumsticks. I shop at this Checkers 4 times a week. And their staff is the most unfriendliest staff of all grocery stores in town. Management really need to pay attention to the store.

This is the second time that I place an order with Checkers60 and the delivery is either wrong or I dont get the product but yet the payment is the first thing you take. I want a response with regards to not receiving my full order. I either want a refund or the product delivered today because this is really pathetic service.

We shop here often because the range of products is good. Ive never liked the look and feel of the place - feels dingy and old fashioned. Today was too much - cockroach marching across the floor and a trolley so dirty I didnt want to put my food in it. Please up your game.

Very good service. I got assistance when I needed it and I didnt wait in a queue for too long. Its quite big so dont get intimidated if you feel lost. Everything is where it needs to be and help is an aisle away. Employees are more than happy to assist. The food is fresh and neatly sorted. You will not be disappointed

A nice Checkers that always has fresh veggies and fruit. It is always clean too. The only issue I have it with the parking. In peak hours one can drive in circles for 10 minutes plus try to find a parking.

Excellent store. They used to have some issues with their fresh produce not being reliably fresh but they have honestly improved by leaps and bounds in the last couple of years. There is also an extensive stationary and bathroom supplies section at the back of the store, which is relatively new and extremely convenient.

Staff standing chatting in every isle two to three of them at time and when you ask them if you can pass you get the look. Please educate your staff about social distance, no wonder the shop has so many case of positive covid tests.

Great produce, bakery and butchery. There is a coffee bar. The staff are mostly helpful and friendly. The 10 item tills are always quick and has a single queue, which makes it quicker. A single queue for the general tills could be useful.

They have a good cooked food selection although not the most appetizing of meals it certainly hit the spot. And they are very well priced to top it off. Wouldnt mind stopping there again

The food and fresh produce is very good, meat of a good quality but the packers packing your food in at the tills are enough to make your blood boil. Tinned stuff into my cooler bag instead of my meat. Meat not in clear bags to prevent blood dripping& general lack of respect for food goods you have spent a fortune on.

Service is slow, you have to explain at least 2 to 3 times the product name, forget about speaking Afrikaans. And their money market cash point is run by non cooperative people all of them are there just to say they have a job.

One stop grocery shop in Durbanville CBD, with meat, deli and bakery counter. Medium sized store with pharmacy and all household necessities, competitive prices and parking both back and front. Coffee counter in front is also a nice addition.

They sometimes have what I need, BUT, the service is shocking! Wasnt greeted at till, the packer, staff member and teller were having a fat chat. Ignored me completely. Zero respect. Will definitely avoid them from now on. This is a regular occurrence with not just myself.

Isles too narrow around bread counter. Too many things standing around in isles and around tills. Staff unfriendly and not intetested in helping you. Will walk right over you and not stand aside for you to pass with your trolley.Worst service ever! Lovely fruit and veg. dept.

Parking is a mess. The staff at the till rarely greet you and show little to no signs of respect for customers or their products. Not very helpful. Staff are not very friendly and would rather brush pass you than politely ask you to move aside. Would rather visit another branch or shop.

It is the 16th and the shelved are poorly stocked ... toiletries are all pushed to the front of the shelves only good deal was the finish tablets at under R3 a wash for the big bag. I left to go visit stores with variety and stock !!!!!

Open till 8pm which is great. Would suggest some lessons from their neighbouring Pick n Pay for their Deli and paying points though.

The bread area, unfriendly stuff, they are not interested in assisting you. When you ask for help is like you are speaking to yourself. The people that works on that area still need to learn customer service....

STAY AWAY from this place in the evenings, unless you want to be harassed by drunken vagrants hanging out in the car park pretending to be car guards. Very poor lighting outside and no visible security. Inside just the plain old Checkers with their, as usual, very unfriendly and uninterested staff.

When will Checkers learn about modern retail queing methods? Checkers is always the most irritating place to pay for goods. They still use old school multiple line method. Very frustrating.

You get a 4 for having the best stationary department Ive seen in a long time, I always come here for stationary equipment due to the affordable prices and wide variety of items

Most of my shopping experiences here has been ok-as the rating suggests. Not good, not bad but distinctly average. Parking is often quite difficult. Fresh produce usually good and they have an extensive hot food counter with a variety of hot foods. Instore Medirite pharmacy and there is a seperate Checkers Liquor

Apart from the parking which is a problem, the staff have been known to purposely not put paid goods into your shopping bag. Other than that they have specials on day to day goods and have a clean pleasant environment
