Very interesting bakery / coffee shop. One shouldn’t have expectations. If you have Coeliac disease buy the items with caution. A lot of their items are made with coconut flour. They do not claim to be gluten free so the other reviewers that complain clearly have not read the sign by the till point.We enjoyed their chocolate cake, chicken spring roll and bought rolls and wraps to take home. The rolls were quite delicious ! Haven’t tasted the wrap yet…

Freedom caters to my limited diet, and their prices are very reasonable. They dont always have what youre hankering for, but thats because they make fresh stock. Their doughnuts and cakes are epic!

Was great, good idea to choose my meat for you to braai .More like lambchops available. The problem with the meat I sort out thanks. Although my wish was to have another piece.

This restaurant coffee shop is awesome caters for everyone. I will definitely recommend a visit to the public to see the atmosphere the facilities for kids is lovely

I experienced pure freedom. The ambience was warm and inviting and had a cool vibe, especially with the live music. Terrific selection of gluten free bread and fresh produce. It my new favourite place.

FOOD FOR THOUGH: The food may NOT be gluten free as they claim. They were named the Freedom Bakery in the past and had been called out multiple times for Food Fraud. You guys are playing a dangerous game... I have had to take my partner, who has Coeliac disease, to the hospital because of people like you. Dont play with peoples lives...EDIT: The person at the store didnt seem that clued up whether the products were all gluten free or not...

My mom is Gluten allergic and she loves Freedom bakery!! Cakes, breads, pizzas and pies. All she dreams of.

I have been so disappointed in Freedom Bakery recently. I placed an order for pastry and said when I would collect it...and they sold my order...it hasnt happened once but FOUR times....Friday was the last straw and when they said they give me their word...I said it means nothing.To make matters worse...I purchased ready made pies when I placed my order only to find cling wrap in the pie....was so disgusted!!Freedom Bakery has lost me as a client as they are unprofessional and clearly there health code isnt up to standard!!

Good selection of products and I like what theyve done with the place during lockdown. Goods are a bit pricey. Not sustainable in this challenging financial times. I would definitely support more if the cost wasnt so high, as the Rolls, Wraps, muffins and cakes are really great.

Music way too loud and a huge disturbance to the neighbours.

Always amazing! The banting rusks were still warm out of the oven ... now so popular they have to bake daily. The coconut ciabattas are so close to the standards ones...great for banters. We love the carob chip short bread, ginger biscuits and cocoa & carob biscuits. The coconut wraps are delicious (also as pizza bases).

They have moved from Main Rd Bergvliet to 126 Main Rd Diep River. Healthy bakery options. The old place had Lovely eclectic decor for a chilled breakfast or lunch but I have not been to the new venue yet. Great service. You have to try it.

It was a lovely place. They also had ready-made vegan cakes which is so convenient, also the cake was absolutely delicious! The people were very friend and the service was wonderful.I will definitely go back again.

Some respectful advice. Pack up the sushi bar, take down the sign and never ever ever do sushi again, stick with what you know (or change everything about the sushi - size, presentation, quality, sushi chef)

At first you get a culture shock because of the unique decor style but then you talk to the staff and taste the food and youre a fan for life. The atmosphere is one of peace and tranquillity. I just love it. You will not be disappointed.

Enjoyed the chicken mayo sandwiches. Breakfast was delicious with baked sweet potato bread. Small play area for kids. Wide variety of non-alcoholic beverages! Very friendly host / owner.

Warning: I suspect the food is NOT gluten free as they claim. But the chicken pie was delicious. Bathroom is a bit like a municipal bathroom at a station - no toilet seat, soap or towel - which does make one worry about the general hygiene of the place. There was a strong smell of cat pee in one area, so we had to move tables.

I love their pizza basses, muffins and the owner is super helpful. They deserve to go from strength to strength. Absolutely indespensable for my Banting eating choices.

Very intersting venue lots to entertain the eye as well as the taste buds. Staff are very helpful to take you through their menu. Try the bacon, egg and cheese on toasted sweet potato flour bread and a good welcome cup of coffee. More than enough to put the Cape weather on hold. Worthy of winding the Saturday morning away with the news paper and friends.

An interesting place. We were greeted by the staff as we entered and we chose to sit outside for some fresh air. No one came to us for a while but eventually a friendly gentlemen helped us. Juice variety was confusing as there is a price on the menu but we were advised that the price depended on what fruits or vegetables you chose, which got a bit tricky. Waited a while for our food but not excessively. Sweet potato bread for a toasted sandwich was lovely, but R80 for something like that won’t encourage me to return in a hurry. I think this place suits a specific market of people who are looking for dietary alternatives. Toilet was also dirty and found a cockroach crawling on the wall which unnerved me. I am thankful for the introduction to the sweet potato bread so I may be back in the future, but we will see.

What a quaint little place! Friendly, family oriented staff. Food are reasonably priced. Fresh food, the best live music. A 5-star to Lester Hunter on the acoustic guitar! He plays on a Friday evening and a Saturday morning. Just love this place!

I love the friendly, laid-back vibe of this cafe. Sit outside for a lovely cup of coffee between the cabbages and other greenery. Fabulous vegan red velvet cake.

I am always pleased to visit my favourite bakery. The bread and rolls are simply delicious and go crispy when toasted. Even my grandchildren enjoy them. They have a large selection to choose from. My favourites are the hamburger, garlic and sweet potato rolls as well as their delicious carrot loaves that are sweetened with dates and topped with pecan nuts. The only thing I dont like is the use of Xylitol in the iced cakes. It is a problem too for those who are allergic to coconut.

My first visit but my daughter comes often all the way from Panorama for the banting items.There was no wheelchair ramp, so it was difficult on the gravel. But the assistants were extremely helpful.Lovely quiet place with a variety of breads cakes etc.Being vegan I found lots of yummy products.The restaurant offered a range of meals and take aways.I will definitely visit again

I love the cakes, cookies, rusks and wraps. Havent tried the breads yet. I am sugar and wheat intolerant and I dont get a sugar rush or brain fog on Freedoms goodies, even when I binge (which is inevitable considering how delicious everything is!)

Most amazing gluten free bakery ever! I love absolutely everything there. Rolls are great for freezing and then put in the oven, tastes like freshly baked. Delicious cakes and croissants.

I feel absolutely shocked to see on Carte Blanche that their products contain Gluten. I found this place on Google and when I entered the store, my husband and I asked one of the employees if all the products were Gluten Free. The sales lady confirmed that it was indeed Gluten Free. My husband is Gluten intolerant and this is totally unacceptable. Why are this store not shut down? This is fraud! Paying R80 for a loaf of bread is a rip off, since there is no difference then any factory bread. This is a shame!

Had tea/coffee and a light snack. Just wish they could emphatically confirm the wheat and gluten free standard to their products. Asked but got the same answer, i.e. we use coconut flower but ... no evidence to answer the positive test results produced on the radio program.

Wonderful little bakery with a variety of products to choose from (including cake by the slice and some produce). Their selection of coconut flour based breads, wraps and rolls is a personal favourite.Try get there earlier as some items sell out fairly early in the day.Pricing on goods are a little more expensive than the average bakery and till slips will need to be SMSd to you as they use a paperless receipt system.

Always an awesome place to be. The staff are very hospitable and the owner Natasha is always friendly and helpful. Their Banting and Glutin free product range is superbly prepared to a very high standard. I simply love it.

Lovely gluten free and banting bread. Tastes so good you would not know the bread is gluten free. Cakes also gluten free, sugar free and vegan. If you have not been there you dont know what you missing.
