It was so Good and Heavenly delicious!!! My mom and I have been here 3 times. and The Sushi and Dumpling is delicious!!

A hidden gem for sure and one of the oldest sushi spots in CT. Don’t expect anything fancy, it’s simple, unpretentious and delicious. I shared a bunch of stuff here with a friend and received great service. So much so that I returned on another trip to CT. It’s well priced too. The lady running the place is really nice.

2 hours to prepare food. Terrible customer service. Don’t recommend

Unfortunately the portions sizes have shrunk. The buy one get one free is the appropriate portion size for what you pay.

Absolutely loved the sushi. The portions was really good too . Proper 👌 I highly recommend this place. Great service too.

From the moment I arrived I noticed how happy people where leaving giving thanks to the owners of this Sushi restaurant. The server was super polite, the atmosphere was a chill vibe with a sense of a warm welcome..I had 3 different orders of sushi and soup. Even if there was only one cheff the food came out on time and looked as good as it tasted. I enjoyed my time here very much. I highly recommend going anytime you need food to lift up your spirit.

Woah I eat a lot of sushi and I’ve never had tuna of this quality in Cape Town. I’m normally not a fan of maki because it’s never well made - but I could eat maki from here, no soy sauce no wasabi, because it’s just that good as is :0 (never been to the actual place, just had the food fyi)

Im Very picky about my Sushi and I tried many different Sushi places during my three months in Cape Town. They were mostly varying from not so good to okay. And then I found this little hidden treasure. Best sushi Ive had in a very long time, you can taste the quality of the fish in their Nigiris and they experiment with flavours without killing the concept of sushi. You can watch the chef making every piece with a lot of attention to details. On top of this it is run but the cutest me most adorable couple that are so human in their service. Im recommending this place to every sushi lover that I meet.

Minato is one of Cape Towns very first (thus oldest) proper sushi restaurants. Its non-pretentious and it doesnt compensate mediocre food with expensive decors. The food is great, service friendly, rolls huge and the wine list has recently improved dramatically. My favourites: Rocket Roll & Crunch Roll.

Honestly some of the best sushi I’ve had, myself and my boyfriend are huge sushi fans and used to live in Vancouver which has more sushi spots than Starbucks haha. It was a cold night so we also got the miso soup and dumplings,they were all Devine. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Cape Town. The decor is a little lacking but it honestly doesn’t matter the service was fantastic and we will definitely return again.

Decent sushi. A little more expensive than Nuri but still has some decent options. Owned by a local Japanese family that had been here for years.

Still always a winner for me. Minatos has a formula, the menu is unchanging, but its always great sushi. Ive never been disappointed. Watch out for the wasabi roll: even if you can tolerate lots of wasabi, this will blow your socks off.
