Cosy and homely Accommodations on offer at reasonable rates. Three options of chalets available and a bunch of camping spots, each with own private ablutions.Best of all are the hosts Albert and his wife. Super friendly and helpful, even opening up his butchery shop late on Sunday afternoon so we could buy meat.Highly recommend visiting this home away from home in Calvinia, whether camping or self catering.

I recently had the pleasure of spending a night at Klipwerf Self Catering and Camping on the R27 in Calvinia. What a nice place to stay!  My unit  was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Secure parking is provided behind a locked gate. I enjoyed an evening braai right outside my room.  Hosts Elmarie and Albert were very kind and helpful.  If you are travelling from the Cape to the Kgalagadi NP, I think there is no better place to stay.

Excellent hosts. Very good energy. Very clean and neat with a lovely hot water shower which was very welcome after a very hot and dusty R355 through the Tankwa Karoo.

The best of all our overnight stays in Calvinia over many years. Cottage was well equipped, air conditioning was switched on before we arrived on a rather hot afternoon. Elmari is a stellar host and made feel at home. This is the place to stay.

The owner whent out of her way to make the stay nice. Aircon was switch on 30min before our arrival as was the electric blanket.Great accomodation at the price we payed.

I cant even begin to describe how absolutely amazing the service here is. They moved their car from their personal spot so we could park with our car and trailer still hitched. They have us fresh milk for tea and coffee even though they are a self catering place. The room is really nice and clean. The shower could use a new head but the water is beautifully hot which is great after long day on the road. This place is a gem and I will always stay when I come through.

We are a party of 6 that stayed at Klipwerf for 10 days for the past two years. We thouraly enjoyed our stay . Elmari is a stellar host and we always feel at home . I can definitely promote her place for a break away from the city.

Elmarie we and our Kalahari broke, welcomed with open arms, even though we did not discuss at all. This is our first camping experience. We were pleasantly surprised with the neat clean and individual bathrooms and own barbecue for each of the three sites. It is far enough away from your neighbor to ensure privacy. This is a safe sealing place.

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised with the neat display of Klipwerf. Very well advertised and parking good.The reaction with the onset was the one kindness and professionalism.Fast completion of formalities by Elmarie.Apartment has ample parking in front of the door. Courtyard speaks of sustained attention. Apartment inside is therefore not a surprise by the neat display and invitation to stay. Everything in its place and a place for everything.gie social traffic with Elmarie is highly appreciated and after a long journey it is like a fountain in an oasis.The night rest is quiet and undisturbed and you are refreshed awake in a pleasant countryside with only bird song that is in your ears.
