Wife wanted to try out this store as we heard the meat was good but not sure on the prices and we were in the area. Took 2 steps into the store and left for my safety. They were very busy no social distancing and store was over crowded.people are not taking covid seriously.

They have such quality meat but most (not all) of their staff wear a mask but under their nose and mouth, so whats the point of that.(Service was good anyway)

Absolutely horrendous service. Essential service workers aren’t given priority to purchase but instead made to wait in the queue. Essential service workers (nurses, doctors etc) were sent to back of queue despite needing to get out of the public space as soon as possible. I will not support these people anymore.

Brilliant! My favorite place to shop for meat. I am not a meat lover and dont like cutting meat so the butcher cuts them neatly and packs them in convenient 500g parcels. All I do is rinse and cook. Friendly efficient staff. Always a pleasure to be at Desais. Best Braai chops and Afghan chicken fillets memorable.

Very good selection of meat. The products are very nice tasting. Service is generally fast but sometimes it gets really crowded when it is busy. Parking is a problem at times though

Cons: only one cashier, so prepare to stand and wait in queue if a busy time.My biggest grievance is the situation at parking lot; Desais need to employ a car guard or two, to control and direct traffic. Saw some road rage on a busy Saturday morning as customers got frustrated waiting 10mins for parking and taking off with each other.Pros: Clean chicken and quality products stocked. However prices are higher than usual and some things are over the top expensive!

Desai Meats has become over priced overnight. The same item can be purchased like R10 to R15 cheaper at other competitive stores. If you are buying a few kgs, then you are wasting hard earned money. Surely, Desai Meats need to be more amenable price wise.

I wouldnt give them any rating. I was there on the Easter long weekend and wanted to buy meat for about 2-3 months. My wife and I normally do this as it makes it easier for her instead of going the a butcher everyday as she works.. To our disappointment it never worked out.. You know never ever judge a book by its cover. I walked in greeted with salaams, seen there were men of religion dressed in Islamic dress beards look like moulanas or hafiz and asked if I could by meat from them and if they could store it for one and a half days until I leave for home, before I even started my question the man was nodding his head noooo!!! I mean come on really if I had to buy the meat it would have been a 5 to 7 k sale they refused.. Now what is sad is that he still had to store the meat in his fridge and its not sold.. But I would never never go this damn butchery ever again..
