I have always thought that Bread ahead made the best Custard Danish and so every time we travel home from JHB we make a stop to have the best treat ever. The name has changed now but I must admit we bought 4 Small Custard Danish and we ate more pastry than custard. Maybe owners have changed the product definitely has.

Previously Bread Ahead, a nostalgic bakery to visit. It takes me back to my childhood. Pecan balls, pecan pie, custard danishes & my new favorite cream horns! Always fresh ❤️

I just witnessed the most incredibly rude customer harass the staff at 5 minutes to 10pm. The staff provided what he insisted on and none the less, he gave them grief, with 5 minutes until the legal cut off time during lockdown level 3. These staff members still needed to attend to a long queue and wrap up before cut off time. I was horrified by the disgusting behavior of the entitled customer but impressed by the professional response and composure of the staff.

The bread mill is amazing! I used them for my wedding this weekend. Ordered their donuts. They were so so pretty and super delicious! I initially said Ill pick it up a day earlier and they took the effort to call me and ask of I could not get it a day later as it will not be as fresh. Appreciated that. Highly recommend!

Great food (I had croissants and a pie) for a really reasonable price. Please do yourself the favour and get some of their food! Looking forward to going back.

They sell the most divine cakes and breads. Coffee n pies. To go or have on a table outside

Always our last stop to end our weekend adventures and we are never disappointed. The mutton bunny and chicken mushroom pie are our favorites. The staff and security guard are very friendly.Yet another excellent stop at Bread Mill this evening. Khonzi and Abdul went out of their way to assist us. Freshly made chicken and mushroom pies! Just delicious. Do stop by and support this amazing place.

The milk tart tastes better than woolworths, spa, picknpay, etc. Delicious. Not forgetting the pies. An absolute delicacy. One of the last few pies on this planet that actually taste the part. These pies actually have filling.

Pleasently surprised - their baking tastes real and not artificial like most local bakeries around. I tried thier cinnamon croissant, fresh cream doughnut, fresh cream filled cannoli and milk tart. They were all above average and tasted fresh and clean. For a commercial bakery I give it 10/10. Would definitely buy from them again

Tasty sweet and savoury treats on offer. There is an area outside the store to eat bought items as well. Coffees and teas are for sale sale as well as sandwiches. Custom cakes can be ordered a day in advance but a meeting with them is required. Closes late at night and ample parking on the road is available.

They bake the best Chicken Tikka pies out there and am a fan of the lam bunnies.Generous portions of lamb pieces and tastes good too. Always loved this bakery since I was younger and remember them still in the 80s and 90s when I schooled down the road from there. Keep going strong and delivering good quality food!!

My first time here. Nice little bakery with a wide range of goodies. The steak & kidney pies had a lot more filling than the norm, but were still a bit pricy, & didnt taste as good as Piemans. The fresh cream eclair & doughnut was lovely. I will try the other offerings when Im next in that neck of the woods 😊.

As i work not far from the Bread Mill and go to work very early i like to stop for a take away cappachino in the morning.. Ive often bought their baked goods and it is ALWAYS amazing, but what concerns me is the general hygiene practised when staff is working at the back😔I have had to watch a lady take her shoe off and showing another staff member something inside , whereafter she put it back on again and continued working with the dough..In a time where we have to be extra careful w.r.t. Covid, i found this very disappointing and worrisome🙄😱

A bar one cake was purchased for my birthday today.I was totally disappointed and disgustedHumiliated by the quality of this cake.Breadmill this is not the standard of cake usually purchased at yur establishment.I usually give good reviews.This cake is worth trashThank you for your response.The cake was filled with butter cream with crystal sugar.Of wich I did not know your establishment used imitation butter cream.Upon purchase we were not informed of the cake being imitation butter cream.Secondly very very dry sponge.Let me further state in no way am I looking for a refund.Just keep up to your standards

Its been quite a while since I last visited The Bread Mill, but after a friend invited me for a Catch-up and Coffee, I headed out to the buzzing bakery that had me drooling, struggling to make a decision on which tasty treat to surprise the family with.I was very impressed to find out that all the cream cakes have farm fresh cream on them, not that horrible fake butter cream. The cakes are handmade, fresh every day so their slight imperfections are testament to that. Wraps, sarmies, biscuits, doughnuts, bagels, loaves of bread, all baked fresh each day, and judging from all the signs, under the strictest of hygiene standards.A few years back, I had bought a pie from the then, Bread Ahead, I cant say I was blown away by it. I decided to give The Bread Mills pies a try and OMG!!! I died and went to heaven!!!! I had the Mutton Curry whilst my hubby had the Chicken Curry. The perfect amount of heat in the curry. Big chunks of meat, fresh peas, savoury gravy...WOW!!So I give The Bread Mill 5 stars as its coffee was delicious, seriously good, I loved sitting on the sidewalk watching all The Bread Mill customers buzzing in and out with bulging bags of freshly made yumminess, the Pies are out of this world, and the Fresh Cream Swiss Roll for an added treat, is absolutely delish!! A visit to The Bread Mill was well worth the effort and I will definitely go back much more frequently!

The fresh cream cakes are very good. And so are the palmiers. However the croissants are average and the pie fillings were a bit salty. If you ever in need of a baked goods fix they are open 24 hours....

Open 24x7x365, Ive always enjoyed visiting this place whether alone, with friends or with the family. Great selection of baked goods to choose from and very reasonably priced. The checkout process can be frustrating when the store is busy and occasionally experienced delays due to the card machines not working. Otherwise highly recommend this establishment.

Very disappointed with my birthday cake it was a disaster in many ways. My niece saw our previous cake and decided to order a cake for me. I was even ashamed to say it was from bread mill😒

My favorite stop on my way home to fulfill a craving... A wide variety of yummy, fresh cakes, pies and other savory snacks . You definitely wont go wrong with this 24hr bakery. A Little pricey but kinda worth it!

Bought a cake for my daughters birthday party and had to cancel because my fathers passed away. Called the bakery not to bake the cake but I was told that it was ready and I had paid for it. When I told them about what transpired, they were not bothered not even recommending what we can do. They just told me that the cake is in the fridge and if I am ready to collect, I must let them know. They are not to keen on their reputation, as long as they made their target for the day

I was not happy with their cheese roll, I had to throw it away after warming it. Coz it was way to hard for one to eat, not to mention chewing🙄. It was not fresh at all. Very crunchy...
