Lovely little sea side restaurant with hearty food. The service was super friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed so chill out and take your time.

Scenery was first thing you see, staff are super friendly and was was fresh, hot and tasty.

We enjoy the atmosphere at Alegria as you are so near the sea with a stunning view. Food are very good and also something different on the menu. Staff very friendly and good service. Don, the owner always make everyone feels like friends and family. The bonus is the live music occasionally to add to the experience. One of our favorite places to visit.

What a great restaurant; a little bit of Portugal in St Helena Bay. We had various seafood starters and mains as well as their peri-peri chicken. Our meals were fresh, tasty and well presented. Waiting period for our order was good. Very attentive lady who served our table. The views are awesome. Its proximity to the beach makes this a fantastic place to visit. I would definitely recommend Alegria

Firstly, the view is impeccable! You are literally on the beach. Get up and walk on the sand. Next, the food is AMAZING! Fresh! This fish hasnt been anywhere near a freezer. The music and atmosphere makes this place a Phenomenal place to be! Its a YES from me. Only criticism, the hand sanitizer at the door doesnt smell great. Other than that, this place is a gem to be at!

The cake is great and the view is beautiful of the sea. The cat on the counter was adorable, and the service was great! I would definately recommend the place and go there again.

Platter was good except fishcakes rather bland & mussels were cold so white sauce was thick almost solid in shell. Would rather recommend the seafood espatada. Considering its a Portuguese restaurant...i expected food to be more flavorful.

Just a wonderful venue. Right next the rocks and sea. We were fortunate enough to have outdoor seating, in the tented area. The food was excellent. Cant fault the staff either,friendly and efficient. Highly recommended a visit.

A lovely secluded place on the beach and out of the wind.Service was food.Food for me was however not to my expectations.The calamari I ordered had more batter than calamari and the salad was not as fresh.How ever I would love to return again and experience this restaurant.The Prawn Espetada I would highly recommend.This was 2019.2020 December was the most horrible experience.No stock of any seafood.But the boards advertise it also the menu.I am aware of Covid restrictions and the impact on the restaurant business but at least the waitress could have informed us or at least a manager could have approached us and informed us of their limited menu.This experience I had with 9 other friends was a most horrible experience in all the restaurants I have visited.Also being on holiday you do not want to get yourself upset but to enjoy the festive season.

Fantastic lunch. Midweek, so not busy. Great service, awesome food. We had fish, Eisbein, steaks and mussels as a family, all dishes really tasty and made perfectly to order. Will definitely return to try the prawns once back on menu! Thanks guys, it was a great experience!

Lovely setting on the shore. Perfect place for some drinks. Ordered the skewers / espetadas. Both the fish and the meat one were over cooked and bland. Stick to a bottle of well priced wine and breathe in the view.

Visitors in St Helena Bay must go, the food is absolutely delicious, locals serves the customers so it is a plus. The prices are affordable which comes as a surprise for the location. The view is stunning, I am very opinionated and this place made me keep my tongue in check. This is not for the party crowd though, laid back and cozy.

A little disappointed with the small menu offering, but the meal was good. Lovely view out onto the ocean from some of the tables. Quiet during mid-week lunch, but will need a reservation over weekends and holidays. Occasionally have live performers.

Been there twice , nice venue right on the beach. Food on the other hand was disgusting to say the least . Prawns was not edible , excuse was it was from a bad batch / Mussels very tiny and chewy . Will we go there again , no!

Great authentic food!

This place has a beautiful view and vibe. My husband and I really enjoyed it. Our waiter Chad was great and very helpful and friendly. I was just a bit disappointed in the menu as I was really hoping for a bit more seafood options. We ended up having the Chedamelt Sirloin and it was tasty and tender.

Food quite average, venue is stunning though. Very annoying that they automatically put a 10% charge on the bill, even for two people.I am an adult an can decide for myself how much I want to tip. Please stop doing this Algeria

The seating outside is comfortable with a good view of the sea. The service is good but a bit on the slow side. The disappointment is the food. We tried a variety of their fish platters and unfortunately the taste of burnt oil still lingers. They could just have had a bad day or maybe its best to stick to the meat.

My husband and I had a lovely lunch at Alegria for the1st time yesterday. The outdoor seating are nice relaxing. It has an European feeling to it. The service was excellent (big thanks to Anja the waitress) and the food was very good. Would highly recommend them to anyone!! It is a hidden gem. Obrigado!

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been too. Horrendous service, horrendous food - nothing fresh, all taken out the freezer. The place is filthy, table cloths have stains, tables are dirty, light fittings outside full of cobwebs - havent been cleaned in decades. Rude servers. A nightmare from hell. Stay away!!!!!

We enjoyed a music show there yesterday - Johan Liebenberg performed. The view of the sea was incredible, we ate chips as a snack...so delicious! We loved the place, the atmosphere, service was great!

Folks this place is Lekka! Its worth a visit.The owner has pumped in BIG bucks to renovate it and it epitomizes what the west coast is all about.Its a chilled environment right on the waters edge.Food is good and the atmosphere is quintessential west coast!!!
