What a delightful experience... The food is amazing... The staff are super friendly... The places isnt too busy..very clean...nice scenery... I ordered a vegetarian pasta dish... It was one of the most delicious pastas Ive ever tasted... Would definitely recommend trying this place.

We hosted a 40th birthday get together for my sister. The restaurant was so accommodating in allowing us to put up our own decorations. We had a private area so we could still abide by COVID-19 protocols while still enjoying our time there. They were extremely patient and helpful. The food was amazingly delicious - a large variety to choose from. The ambiance is chilled and the restaurant itself is very spacious. The service is amazing and we definitely will be returning.

I really enjoy this restaurant: Large windows let in a lot of sunlight, a high ceiling creates a feeling of spaciousness, and its position on the first floor even gives you a view of the surroundings.Particularly during COVID times, this is an excellent place to hang out, have lunch and get some work done because there is so much space and ventilation.The food is fairly priced and up to standard; the service you get depends on the waiter: Some are excellent, others not so much.

Polpetta has moved to the newly renovated The Wedge centre. Their food is still some of the best around and they allow corkage, but their own wine selection is just as good. The centre and restaurant is wheelchair friendly, and they also have a kids pizza making area to keep them occupied. Outside and inside area - bookings essential for weekends!

As one who has eaten at Polpetta for years, I can say with confidence; it is one of the best restaurants in the country.I rate it as one of the top three; in Johannesburg.The food is superb and the staff are fantastic.Try it.Youll be back.Guaranteed!!!!!

This is Polpetta’s new venue - has been for a while now; they used to be at 90° shopping centre.The venue is spectacular with options for both inside or outside seating with a view over Morningside. There is plenty of parking and it is wheelchair accessible.We had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection with the perfect flavour of smokiness.Their large pizza oven is quite something to behold and they’ve put a lot of effort into the décor.Service was friendly and efficient too despite it being quite busy.Booking is essential on weekends. This is a popular venue for all and rightly so!We will definitely be returning.

A lovely indoor restaurant with the feeling of outdoors due to the exceptionally high ceilings and view of the horizon. Food was good italian homecooking . Vaal schnitzel and vaal limone deliscious as well as pizza good vale for money and huge portions. Thoroughly enjoyed by all 3 of us

Great place with fabulous food. It seems to be very popular as the restaurant was quite busy compared to its competitors. The service are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much that we were the last people to leave. Their salads, starters and pastas are recommendable. Well worth a visit.

Meals were ok and sadly they didnt have many of the menu items available since they ran out of ingredients such as cheese and meat. Pastas are good and always a favourite.

Moved to The Wedge Centre. Great pizza and pasta for all tastes, accomodates for vegetarians and vegans too.

Food is decent if ordering non-salad items. The chips were a major disappointment, as they were oily. Their meat is beautiful. As for the salads would not recommend the tuna salad, as you will get a tin of tuna salad. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are welcoming.

Lovely ambience and friendly staff. Happened to come here on a chilly and cloudy evening and it was warm, cosy and inviting inside. The cocktails were excellent. The pizza is really good although not the best Ive had. Its probably a good idea to make a reservation since the restaurant got really busy into the Friday evening. The restaurant is located upstairs in a small shopping centre. I found the undercover parking bays quite narrow but there are plenty of options. Overall, a good evening out.

So a brief update.. In very rare occasions does a restaurant redeems itself, to be fair I went to back to the restaurant and received great service, tasty pizza and food, it was very different experience compared to the last post ... I still keep my original post to note that the 1 star rating at the time was well deserved... Very disappointed with the restaurant, try to order over the phone but the number remained engaged, so I drove there, but they took my order incorrectly, I waited over 30 minutes for the 1 pizza they made, and instead of offering to make the other pizza in record time, they paid me my money back. Wont be back.

The pizza is brilliant. I mostly order the margherita due to the fact that they have come close to perfecting it, but all other pizzas have been delicious. The service has always been friendly and efficient.

The salmon pasta is one of the best I ever had. Also, the service is good. Pleasant atmosphere.

Delicious and Fresh

One of the best Italian restaurants in Johannesburg

Went in to order the garlic focaccia and veg pasta last Fri night (as they did not answer the phone). Very busy and full. A bit of a wait but the focaccia, even after being transported home in pizza box, was this dreamy soft fluffy top well coated and a nice crispy bottom, really really good! Pasta was good too, a big portion! Have not tried a pizza but thats definitely next on the list.

Place is really nice, has couches and a decent balcony view. Im not sure if smoking is allowed but the food is also really good. Had pizza when I was there. Also If you are a beer fan I recommend trying the Bonecrusher draft. Best draft I have ever tasted. But ofcourse each to their own so please take it with a pinch of salt. We dont all have the same taste buds. I wouldnt take small children there. But definitely a great place for a chilled time with some good mates.
