I had a great experience with Dr Kaplan. He did a thorough analysis including costs and allowed me to make my own choices with regards to the type of treatment I required. He is not just about making money and will present a course of action which is best for you. I initially went there to look at a dental implant for a missing tooth. Turned out that I didn’t need it considering the procedures and costs I would incur if I were to go that route.Dr Kaplan is very professional and so are is staff. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a good experience.

It was roughly 4 years ago, when I found Dr Kaplan’ practice. My mission was to fix my smile, ruined during my early teens. Therefore the day I found Dr Kaplan, he took over my mission of needing to implant a front tooth, with ease, compassion & the highest level of professionalism I have not seen in my life.He immediately did his own assessments; assembled a team of doctors such as a periodontist and an orthodontist to work on restoring my smile. I felt so blessed over the years to see how Dr Kaplan’s coordination & solutions resulted, in not just a healthier mouth, but cured gums; corrected overbites and an implant. This is a clean and efficiently run dental practice. However, I was disappointed at Dr Kaplan’s attitude towards me on my final visit. I had sensitivity after my new tooth was installed, and when I returned to him less than a week later to fix it, I found him to be unreasonably abrasive and dismissive. He kept saying “it will settle” despite my cries that I can’t eat due to the discomfort. He didn’t give me the sense that I could return to him if I feel any more discomfort. Instead, he treated me with haste and impatience. Over R15000 later, I will now be consulting another doctor to fix a problem that he created. Very disappointing outcome.

The reviews on Dr G Kaplan are the reason i chose him, however my experience today left a sour taste in my mouth, not only was he dismissive towards me but he made me feel like i was wasting his time, upon arrival not only was there a mix up with my appointment time but the consultation fee as well, i advised DR Kaplan that i had two holes that needed fillings and that there was one tooth that was painful and over and above this i asked for advise on a way forward regarding the shape of my teeth because I wanted to have crown implants for the front teeth, instead of assisting me he told me that he i needed to see an orthodontist and that he cannot see any holes in my teeth and was not going to assist with cleaning them, i walked away 15min later upset and appalled in the way in which he addressed me, he was condescending in the manner in which he spoke to me and told me that i should appreciate the sound advice he was giving me which was to visit another Dr, what part of i don’t see any holes go visit another Dr would be considered as sound advice? especially when you have a patient that you are taking money from but won’t even help with the fillings or the painful tooth? you took my money without even trying to help me and i feel robbed and disappointed that i trusted any of the reviews on here, Respect every human being you come in contact with because i did not come to you for a favour i was willing and able to pay for any procedure i needed but you were not willing to help me, I was nearly in tears in the manner in which I was dismissed and treated as an inconvenience to his time from the very onset of my appointment.

Ask you Dentist and he will tell!Think of your teeth as pearls of wisdom and you will not regret it as you grow older.Looking after your teeth is as easy as 1.2,3. Brush thoroughly , twice a day, preferably with an electric tooth brush and floss regularly.A twice annual visit to the dentist and oral hygienist will also go a long way in keeping your teeth in a tip top condition.

I was in severe pain in my mouth from an implant and gum procedure Dr Kaplan found the problem and sorted it out still helping me to get my mouth right but what a kind and fabulous person. Caring is something you dont find today. Hes work is above par.. I would recommend him to anyone with doubts about good dentistry.

I was looking around the web for a dental specialist. My local dentist had recommended that I remove two of my wisdom teeth and I wanted a second opinion. I called Dr Kaplans office and by a chance, he answered the phone. I could sense he was a warm and knowledgeable man. When I arrived at his office I was met by his friendly team. During the consultation Dr Kaplan informed me that I had to remove not only all my wisdom teeth but an extra molar as well. He even offered a free X-Ray, which saved me a lot of pain and money down the road. My dental appointment was excellent. I knew I was in the hands of very capable and caring professionals. I felt like I had all the necessary tools to make a well informed decision. I appreciate his generosity and thoughtfulness. Dr Kaplan restored my faith in humanity.

My dentist picked up a problem with pot holes in my teeth and wasnt sure what the problem was. He suggested I see Dr Kaplan. Dr Kaplan took photos of my teeth and was easily able to identify the problem and a solution. My teeth needed straightening and I needed an orthodontics, but being 31 and a working male I wasnt excited by the idea but bit the proverbial bullet . 18 months later, my teeth are looking better than ever, and it was well worth it.

I have been going to Dr Kaplan for 20 years having broken my two front teeth at a young age. His professionalism and perfectionism make him a fantastic prosthodontist. I have always been extremely happy with how he managed my fear of needles and I have never been unhappy with the end results. I went to see Doctor Kaplan because I wanted to speak to him about fixing some of my teeth. I was not sure what I was getting myself into but it was time for a change.After months of trying to save and salvage some of my teeth, we eventually agreed to get dentures. I am a Dental Hygienist student from the University of Witwatersrand. I have been shadowing Dr Kaplan for the past 4 months, in the time spent in his practice, I have learnt quite a lot of top of the range dentistry. when I first arrived at the practice, I was welcomed with warm hands by the whole staff and treated like I was part of them.I got to see everything that happens in the practice and I was very impressed on how the practice was managed, the level of care each and every staff member showed towards the patients, Dr Kaplan always listened to what the patient wanted, showed empathy and also gave outstanding results when it comes to treatment. My dental health was in poor condition and in dire need of some serious treatment which is when I made contact with Dr Kaplan and asked for his urgent intervention which was some 18 months ago.The first thing that Dr Kaplan asked me is what I was expecting to get out of the treatment and what I wanted....I very quickly answered that I want the perfect Hollywood smile with pearly whites. Dr Kaplan is one of the most passionate and dedicated medical professionals I have met. He has come to my rescue on numerous occasions, including New Years Eve when many medical professionals are unavailable or unwilling to assist, as well as three days after having undergone his own medical procedure at hospital. Dr Dr Kaplan has had the courtesy of following up to check if I had recovered well after treatment and is a perfectionist who refuses to compromise on quality. I have often referred to him as a closet artist in the wrong profession. Thankfully for the medical fraternity and his patients he chose a life of service. I came across Dr. Kaplans advert in the local newspaper. After being frustrated with poor and irresponsible dentistry I called his office manager - Janine at the time, who immediately fitted me in. I got a massive scare when Dr Kaplan explained the extent and the cost of the work to be done. That was 6 years ago and I am happy to say the dental journey we have been on has produced excellent results. It has taken time and patience on both our parts. His dental assistant Lebo and current office manager Jackie are most accommodating, nurturing and patient and have often buffered a few tense situations where Dr Kaplan or I were being stubborn. I went for a regular dental check up to dentist that was recommended to me. I have struggled finding the right dentist all my life. After this specific check up, I was told that I would need to get implants done. I was devastated to hear this, and I felt heartbroken. I then went for a second opinion to Dr. Kaplan, who calmed my nerves, did a thorough examination and concluded I did not need implants. Dr. Kaplan explained my condition to me step by step and he slowly took me through the steps of action that needed to be taken. He also answered all the questions my family and I had asked, even if we repeated ourselves. He further referred me to the best specialists that would work on my mouth before he could reconstruct and fix the condition of my teeth. I visited a maxillofacial surgeon, a periodontist and had most of the reconstruction done by Dr. Kaplan which is a prosthodontist.This experience was very emotional for me and the number of procedures I went through left me in lots of pain. I am extremely grateful for what Dr. Kaplan, Jacqui and Lebo did for me. They were always considerate, caring and reassuring. Jacqui would call or email to check up on me and Dr. Kaplan himself called me at 6:30pm, after an exhausting 5 hour session with me in the morning, to check up on how I was. I could have not have asked for a better team to help me with my dental problems. To add to my stress, I was preparing to leave the country and Dr. Kaplan and the team worked hard to make sure my teeth would be done before I leave.I can now smile and chew easily with less discomfort, and I feel more confident to laugh again.Thank you again to an amazing team. After making an appointment for my three kids via telephone with Jackie, on monday, listing their ages, detailing what they need done and being told that yes in fact Dr Kaplan does do regular dentistry for kids, imagine my surprise, when on their arrival at the rooms yesterday, my husband and kids were turned away by the Doctor, after he took one look at them, saying:sorry I dont treat kids. How is it that the receptionist of the dentist doesnt know this critical information? Is this really still happening in the new South Africa? Shocked and appalled and certainly not recommending this dentist to anyone!

I have been a patient of Dr. Kaplans for 38 years and the reason is that every single time I have had a treatment or cleaning done I have felt him to be most capable and professional. A bridge that he did for me was done soon after his return from the USA 38 years ago, with the latest method. He used me as a model to demonstrate and educate a panel of qualified dentists how to do this procedure. I certainly hope that all present learned from his expertise because this bridge is still intact and has not given me a days trouble. He has attended to the health of my familys teeth through regular check-ups and cleaning which he does himself. Visiting a dentist is a nerve wrecking experience especially if you have had bad experiences with dentist who cause pain or damage your teeth and then make you pay for its repair. I saw a post of Dr Kaplan on Facebook and he posted that generally dental practitioners do not listen to the actual complaint of patient, and the dental profession should deal with client expectations as a priority instead of doing what they think a patient needs. And this has been my experience with dentists, they dont listen to what you are concerned about, their general attitude is that they are the dentist and they know best!!!It took me a year to visit Dr Kaplan. I love they way Jacqueline the practice manager allayed my trepidation and fear of the visit and answered my questions promptly via email. When I finally arrived at my appointment (which I kept postponing), both Jacqueline and Dr Kaplan dealt with my anxiety over this visit. Even the dental assistant, Lebo, was patient, kind and helpful during the consult. Dr Kaplan explained exactly what he was going to do during the oral examination, which he then carried out. I felt a lot more comfortable. After the consult, he discussed the various options I had and answered all my concerns and queries regarding his advice.As a veterinarian, I appreciated the competent, simplistic manner, attention to detail and his genuine interest in restorative techniques for my specific dental issues, even though I had a preconceived idea of my problem.I can honestly say that this is the first time I have had a pleasant, almost stress free visit to a dentist!! I would highly recommend this practice and salute their team effort and their dedication to patient comfort and care.Other practices can certainly from this one!Will be my dentist for LIFE!!
