Fantastic, family owned restaurant, with the best sushi in Joburg (and the only sushi place that understands making sushi spicy). They have become takeaway only, but their Buy 1 Get 1 Free sushi deal on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday is still the best ticket in town to settle your sushi urges.

Dong Sheng is our FAVOURITE place for sushi and Chinese food. The tempura prawn fashion sandwiches, salmon houses, rock rolls and salmon skin California rolls are our favourite sushi options. Their wonton and chicken sweet corn soup are delicious and then the chicken Chow Mein, crispy beef or chicken and cashew chicken are all further options weve tried and absolutely loved.

Lovely Chinese Restaurant situated at Sloane Square in Bryanston, the place was clean and cozy looking. The sushi was fresh nicely packed and very tasty i’ll certainly be coming back for more and they have a wide variety of options available, my beef chow fan was a bit dry and the beef was dry we ate it anyway. Otherwise lovely place for Chinese Food.

I ordered the Pork Chow Fan and I was more than pleased with my order. The portions are generous and the meal was seasoned to perfection. I never sit down but the restaurant is peaceful and cosy. Reasonably priced and the waiting time is fair. Definitely a good place for Chinese takeaways.

I absolutely love this place! With the buy one get one free specials on Wednesdays and Saturdays, you cant beat it in the value for money department. The ambiance is not great for anything more than a quick bite. But still thoroughly enjoy my visits to Dong Sheng

Local Chinese restaurant and takeaway located in the Sloane Square Shopping centre. Dong Sheng serves sushi as well. Tables are serviced. Setting is informal, more suited to lunch and dinner takeaway. I enjoy the food that I have bought there, but must admit that I not diversified on my order (not too much)

I spend two days a month here minimum. The service is exceptional, friendly, inviting and the sushi is great. Try the bean curd, and Salmon hand roll these are a must on the menu. Dont leave without visiting the place.

I just have to say Im impressed by the customer service we recieved from this place. My siblings and I first ordered for from them about 2 weeks ago and food was excellent, we ordered chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken and sliced fried chicken with chilli. Great food but my review is based on yesterdays order. We ordered our food via uber eats and the guy who delivered apparently did two deliveries on the same drive and brought us the wrong order. Because of the lockdown rules we only realised this after he was gone and for some reason there was no number in the uber eats app for me to call. My brother then decided to call the restaurant directly and they were so understanding even though it wasnt their fault and offered to redo our order. Im very impressed with the way they handled the situation. Will definitely be ordering from them again.

Some of the best chinese food Ive tasted in JHB. Ive ordered 3 times, twice has been amazing and once was average. The sushi has also been good quality.

The restaurant is clean and the quality of the food is great! We’ve had their sushi a few times and we’ve always been impressed with what we got for the price! We’d definitely recommend it to any of our friends and we’ll keep on going back as well!! One of our absolute favourites!

It took almost 20 minutes to pack up some soup and they werent very busy. The dumplings were not nice and the price was very high for what I ordered. Would not recommend to anyone.

Fantastic food at this place. We normally order takeaways every Wednesday for the Sushi special (buy one get one free). We normally request additional Wasabi as it is needed with large quantities you get. There is a small eating area inside the shop.
