Bad bad experience, monkeys caused damage to my vehicle and staff’s attitude when I phoned to complain was they not our monkeys and there is a disclaimer…yip there is but hear me out, my frustration and the annoyance and cost of sorting out the damages. How about offering to assist, or wash my car, or come for a complimentary something…just concern and understanding. By the way covid should surely make a hospitality establishment think about customers a little bit differently. If I could attach pictures….monkey pop, marks from front to back, scratches and bite marks. So annoyed

My husband I stayed here for 5 nights while on a business trip of his. The experience was flawless!We arrived very early in the morning and the staff offered us free coffee/tea/espresso while we waited and were able to check into our room immediately!We had a room on the second floor facing the sunset over the pond. Their open floor plan for watching the sunset in the main bar was breathtaking. I loved walking on the trail and relaxing by the pool. My husband I and will definitely be back for a vacation in the future!All of the staff were very friendly and enjoyed talking with them!

Great place for a relaxed quiet stay not far from the city! Peaceful location at a little lake, surrounded by the visitor-friendly Irene farm and a pretty golf court.Warm welcome by the staff (a high-five goes to Maureen!) everywhere on the property. Well equipped bar, awesome for sunset drinks. Rooms are spacious and with great views of the forest or the lake!Cozy spa with good treatments and a little pool. All in all it was a great, relaxing stay, would definitely come again!

Bought a voucher on their spa website as a gift for friends. Was informed later that they dont allow the voucher for the spa which means the gift cant be used for what was intended. Pretty disgusted in their client service offering.

My husband and I spent a night here (including a picnic, dinner and breakfast) and we really enjoyed it. It was beautiful, the staff were all extremely friendly and the food was very good. We did a milkshake tasting that was okey, but nothing special. I would definitely recommend going here if you want a tranquil break

Lovely place, lovely stuff, good food too. Lots of space for kids to run around and kid activities. Theres a farm directly opposite with great food too so very nice place.Id advise you opt for the lakeside rooms, the views are great and close to most of the areas in the hotel.The Malva pudding dessert was my favorite! #sweettooth

Rooms and amenities are nice and clean. Great views for trail walks and picnicking.This hotel is good for families. Consider eating out as an option there are nice restaurants around.

I attended a conference here. Its a cool and calm lodge good for organising conferences or wedding reception. It has a beautiful lake facing the hotel and conferences hall.Its luxurious.

A great nearby getaway. Felt like we were somewhere in the midlands. High quality service, accommodation and dining.

We stayed at Irene Country Lodge for only one night during a road trip up North, and it was well worth it.The rooms are huge, with a nice outside patio, bed was comfortable, and they even provided foam pillows on request. We also ordered room service, which was efficient, with good food and the wine selection was not bad either.One minor issue is that I wanted a spa massage on the evening of our arrival, but even though the online booking system showed availability, the Spa told me there was none when I called.We will definitely stay there again, as it feels like youre not even in Joburg!

Definitely not 5 Star hotel, more like 3. No family friendly pool. The room I stayed in it was not very clean and not kept clean by the staff. Terrible air-conditioner smelling bad. The only nice thing about it is that is quite place. Restaurant is not to bad but wat to expensive for the limited variety offered by the buffet.

Having stayed there 5 times now, I am comfortable to write this review. Not worth it. Rather stay at a local SME guesthouse. This country lodge is overrated in their pricing. Wifi is more off than on. Aircon more off than on. Breakfast is impersonal and oily and so uninspired. View of the lake is all good but not worth it for the money you pay.

My family and I came to Irene country lodge and I must say this has been a world class service, I have never been in a place where all the staff from receptionist to the restaurant that treated us with the same respect, the same energy, I am astonished 😦, let’s just say Irene country lodge will be seeing my family and I and I will definitely recommend them to family and friends, and I want to say thank you to Mr Sean for just being amazing and going out his way to assist us. The food was amazing. Keep up the good work 👏🏽

Beautiful lake view from the rooms, quite refreshing. Theres a path way around the lake for a morning/afternoon jog, or a leisurely walk taking in the breathtaking sunset. There are birds on site as well for nature lovers.

Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating .Zwelithini ( chef ) was excellent .Food great, atmosphere great and the experience was splendid. Highly recommended

I stayed at African Pride Irene Country Lodge for 7 days and my car which was parked on their premises was severely scratched by what I assume is either one of their other guests or their staff (who drive golf carts). The hotel though having cameras claim they saw ‘no foul play’ after I had to run after them to check. They then promised to have another look but have not gotten back to me. This establishment does not care about your personal property and how much loss/damage you suffer during your stay there. It would not hurt them to properly check their cameras, but they seem to not care. Utterly disappointing for what is supposed to be a 5-star hotel.

The place is stunning the services great. The food is the best and tasty and mouth watering. I will visit again after the covid Era. Thank you

Stunning location, stunning rooms, the place is just so calming, its a really great place to go to if you want to get away from the city but you dont want to drive too far. I usually dont repeat stays, this will be the exception, Im definitely visiting again, this time for longer.Id suggest dinning out, the in-house restaurant is just okay, limited menu options, not for foodies.

Loved it, the tranquility of the place. We had cocktails overlooking the dam with the sunset view. It felt like we were out in the country, yet we were right here in Pretoria.

Great hotel, although this is a luxury hotel, it is due for a renovation as the furniture in the rooms feels dated. This is a personal preference coming from a person who prefers modern and contemporary design cues. Service and amenities are excellent. It’s a great spot to unwind without leaving the city, you will feel detached from the city once on the property.

I love this place, the reception is welcoming, good food, lovely surroundings huge rooms, well maintained gardens. Great service from management to staff. I also jogged safely for about a kilometer inside the premises then went to the gym. Management also spoilt me with a Big Easy red wine. Thank u guyz!

We were fortunate to get premium rooms so cannot comment on the others. These were well appointed and comfortable. Service was generally excellent with a few small exceptions which did not affect the overall experience. Facilities are excellent with a gymnasium, spa, swimming pool and stunning natural surrounds. Plenty of unspoiled nature and a nice walk to soak it all up. Close to restaurants and other facilities. Highly recommended.

Since our arrival on 2021-01-15 ALL personell exceeded our expectations of professionalism. We were always treated as special guests. Sean, Sarah at the desk as well as all the personell that we interacted with, made sure that this Hotel receives the highest rating possible. This is the number 1 Hotel we stayed at internationally, not only because of the setting, but for the excellent service we received from everybody. Despite all the Covid rules they had to enforce, they still managed to make our stay the most memorable ever experienced at a Hotel. I only find out the day I checked out that my other colleagues received gowns and sleepers that I never had in my room. But apart from that everything was up to standard.

The place is very nice it was my fifth time going there but I didnt like their service this time had to call reception more than twice to get ice bucket and other utensils as if waiting for more than an hour wasnt enough. My partner also had to call since he was at a meeting.

A pleasant location next to a golf course and with plentiful and diverse birds on a lake. Service is attentive and welcoming.

King room with lake view was great. Shocking restaurant experience - soulless, bare and service less than adequate. Dinner - food not prepared as per their menu. Note - take your phone to breakfast and lunch and dinner. They refuse to give you a (paper) menu and you have to order based on the downloaded menu on your phone. Make sure you are not charged twice for breakfast. A disappointing experience.

From check-in to the atmosphere of the Country Lodge to the stay, everything went splendidly smooth and well. Check-in took less than 2 minutes as all paper work was ready and all I had to do was sign. The suite was immaculately clean and the size of the room was rather impressive. The stay felt like I was in the countryside although we are somewhat in the city. Would definitely be coming again to experience all the amenities such as the pool, spa etc. I highly recommend African Pride Irene Country Lodge, Autograph Collection

Food was awesome and the staff friendly and helpful

We booked for the date night (wine and dine) and although our stay was lovely, it was ruined by the bad quality of the dinner menu and options. I am pregnant and both mains were so spicy I could not stomach it, and both desserts had booze in. When we asked for an alternative, we had to pay for it. The hotel did apologize and said they will take it up with the chef and give feedback, which I am still waiting for 3 weeks later... and they offered to give us lunch one day, but I already had such a let down and disappointment, we wont eveb return for the free lunch. No thank you, never again

Perfect Place for a Relaxed Weekend. Beautiful Pond inside the Property where you can take a Walk around it and feel the sights and sounds of the large number of different types of birds which flock around. The Rooms are Huge and Rustic. Very pleasurable experience.

Great location to relax and dine. Have not stayed here personally however the rooms and the view from them looked great. Amazing garden, library and bar at this location. Will defintely return to this place i have heard great things about the dinning experience. I caprured a family photoshoot at this location and absolutley loved working here.
