Staff was very friendly. The only downside was the buffet. It has very limited variety. No roasted meats at all. Only beef stew and chicken. Salads was coleslaw and potato salad only, dessert was fruit salad and carrots cake only. No soup nor any starter. We paid the same price of the full buffet for these few items. That was a downside for me

The facility is well managed. However I have concern with regard to their kitchen they serve one main menu with no option to choose other. For example they night I was there they offer only pork which is against other people belief so it was like they should not eat on the night.

Last night I was treated with food in my room and when I finished eating, I wanted to put all in the passage. Did that and got lock out of the room. Went down to reception, explained my situasion, got another entry card and went back. The personal was so helpful, I enjoyed be special. Thanks very much.

It was an unprepared overnight stay & this was the only hotel that was not fully booked. The interior was tastefully Decorated as with all Tsogo Sun hotels but was so disappointed when we entered the bedroom, the bathroom was so tiny, tub, sink & toilet was so old and stained yellow. Not hygienic at all. We only stay with Tsogo Sun so we did not expect this at all..from Tsogo Sun.

I went there for a birthday dinner. The food was very limited and the beverages was a disaster. It was unlike the Southern sun that i know

It was a dissapointment- period. The buffet dinner at R220 p/p is just a plain BIG rip-off. Breakfast was so-so. The room was not much better than a Stay Easy; and the bathroom so small, you had to go out of it, if you wanted to change your mind; plus no seperate shower. Sorry, they wont see me again; the Southern Sun Hyde Park is WAY better and MUCH more value for money.

Exelent customer service, Clean and peace of mind environment. Ever smiling staff, Coming to food, display and deco, well prepared by people that loves and have passion of what they get paid for. I recommended Southern Sun Hotel to all my colleagues,Surely returning there again will be a pleasure.

The overall experience of the hotel is quite lovely. The only downside is the restrictions put into place as result of COVID-19. Prior to these, the breakfast buffet was always something to look forward to. Now its just not as enjoyable. Its also disappointing to know that you cant get some foods youd expect. But all in all if youre looking for comfort, coziness and convenience, this is the place to go.

Only went for a buffet dinner and was so disappointed with the food. Very limited variety and It was not enough for the guests. My kids literally had dry chicken breasts and a starch. Dessert was jelly and a stale carrot cake. What a bad experience 😕

The place is clean, the view inside out is breathtaking, the staff from the securities, front desk and dining staff, they are all so welcoming and helpful. The lady at the main door so helpful, welcoming and professional. Thanks for making our stay comfortable and unforgettable. The cleaning staff was inconveniencing, but their service was worth it. Thanks, well surely come back, Ill definitely reccomend Southern Sun to friends, family and colleagues

Friendly staff who are always willing to go an extra mile

I enjoy visiting this space, time and time again. There is ample parking, a strong sense of security and a relaxing ambience. Luxurious fragrance all around the hotel, a plush bathroom and general customer service is how I remember Southern Sun Pretoria. I appreciate the finer things in life and this haven provides me with that.

No good service at all it used to be good but now not at all, the room two pin plug not working properly it was loose, dinner was terrible rice very dry, no veggies; requested breakfast pack which was not provided

I attanded a roadshow in one of the conference venues. Breakfast was included. Food was well prepared, and the location was nicely decorated. Sound system worked well, and we were also well informed regarding emergency procedures.I did not stay in the hotel, so I cannot comment.Overall impression of the hotel venue was good, everything clean and well kept.

Came for Valentines Day and over night stay. The Hotel is good not as great as I expected but the biggest let down was the restaurant (so called Valentine dinner). Unfortunately had to take my wife to Marriott rooftop bar for Mexican food. Drove all the way from Sandton for a romantic eve but it didn’t turn out close to our expectation. DISAPPOINTING to say the least!! 😐😔.Next morning went for breakfast and that was quite nice and good spread. And then asked for a cappuccino and was told that I will have to pay for the cup. That’s not acceptable as have been to numerous similar kind of hotels & never paid for a cuppa! 😐Got a call from the manager and explained the whole scenario. He was quite receptive and gave a patient listening & appreciated the feedback!

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The management of the hotel was lacking. Our room was prebooked for a family but was prepared for a single person. Dinner buffet offered minimal choices which was not value for money. The curry had a combination of turmeric and sugar! Basic requests like draft beer or condiments were not in stock. Unlikely to return.

I was on the business trip to this hotel. The hotel has most amenities that a guest need, a spa, restaurant, wheelchair friendly, kids friendly to name a few. Super clean, friendly staff, great location along main routes easily accessible by most means of transportation including taxis, busses, ehailing etc. I think they have the best chefs in town

A nice hotel with very friendly staff members. Thier room service menu can do with additional items. Thwy have lamb chops which are served with chips or pap which are amazing.

Their conference rooms are conducive for a training. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also care about the guests health. I enjoyed the environment and the food.

We had very comfortable stay, and excellent service at this hotel. The foyer is very welcoming, and the piano music contributes to the special ambience. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

A very friendly and professional staff. Hotel is very neat and sophisticated. And it has a 3 star rating but looks 5 star . Prices can vary from R1200 to R 3500 stay

Great hotel, centrally located, beautiful, rooms and views. Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired, it really took away from a great experience, it was too bland and destroyed a great experience. Also, its central location does cause a problem, because it renders you liable to suffering from loud blaring of horns from public transport all day.

I like this hotel for the most part. Great atmosphere and fantastic food. The only concern for me was the noise of taxis. You can hear them hooting in the rooms.

Great service but thats it. The hotel is old the rooms are very old need urgent upgrades. The lighting in the bathroom is dull and the bathrooma are very poor old..The childrens pool is dirtyRoom service is slow.

Southern Sun Pretoria room style is a little outdated. The place needs an upgrade, the corridors, the rooms. The carpet has a bit of a musky smell. The beds are comfortable though. The restaurant service and staff are ok, but i think they could do better. In the couple of times Ive been there especially the restaurant, some look like they are not in the mood to be there, others look tired. The breakfast buffet however is amazing, they have different selection of foods for breakfast meats, veggies, cereals, salads, eggs whether you want an omlette with veg, or plain, scrambled, hard boiled its available. The have a grill at the table servings omlette they cook your egg as you stand and wait. Of everything ive experienced in the hotel there breakfast buffet is the best part of the hotel. They have an outdoor pool area, and bar but have never seen it operating. Sleeping; if you booked in the room where the windows are on the side of the main road, the noise of the passing cars is too much especially in the early ams. So if you are a light sleeper you will have issues. They need to input soundproof windows for rooms on that part. Its ok, but not the best of the Sun international hotels. The area where hotel is, convenient as its near to the city center if you have business that requires you to be in central. Easy movement to and from the hotel for cabs. Parking available for personal cars.

I was there for a conference. Big conference and cool. Refreshments quite nice, and lunch excellent. The only down is the toilets are down stairs and have to climb down. Not sure whether there are ones suitable for those who cant climb stairs

The idea of paid parking for such a pricey hotel did not make sense to me.One of the longest check in processes I have ever experienced. Location not great. While close to a number of establishments, I did not feel particularly safe

Good location, morden- designed luxury hotel. I really enjoyed 3 nights weekend break with my church colleagues. My spacious, airy room with air conditioning facilities making it so comfortable in this hot weather. Loved every single minute in it. Never had time to watch TV big screen, free wifi, nothing can beat a nice cup of tea with a biscuit.Delicious buffet breakfast, English & continental choices with variety of beverages. I had my water bottle filled with water and ice every morning when going out for the day. This hotel has lots to offer, self service photocopying, printing, faxing the list is endless feel free to ask.Wheelchair accessible enterance, monitored lifts for security, private parking 50 rands per day. Outdoor pool surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. Beach towels available. Sun loungers, sun umbrellas, fitness centre with gym, workout room, babysitting, business centre. I highly recommend everyone families, businesses, romantic breaks. I will definitely come again. I gave you 5 stars you deserve it.

It is normally great, but this time around the waiter took too long to serve our drinks while our food is prepared. After finishing eating we requested a bill and it too forever. My wife decided to go and pay at the till. The food was ok though.

Slow service, ukept furniture. The interior and exterior are worlds apart. The pool area has so much potential really. The inside is amazing. But the bar and pool area are poorly serviced. It was such a confusing experience
