An incredible place which I highly recommend.Very vibrantly decorated in true Moroccan style - you won’t be disappointed. There are about 4 different levels which takes you up to Le Terrasse Rooftop Cafe with a Delhi. Indoor and outdoor seating. I believe there is also a function venue so if you feel like you over partied you can book into their guest house.Complimentary olives with your drinks. I just ordered a starter platter which was really good and my husband ordered a Couscous Lamb dish which he enjoyed.Only downer for me was that the cocktail menu was non existent with just 2 options and the restaurant closes as early as 5pm.Service was good
Unfortunately the restaurant has closed down, but the shop is amazing
I am really confused about this restaurant, most of the reviews seemed good and I have wanted to go there for a while. Unfortunately I think the overwhelming feeling is disappointment. The restaurant itself is tiny, maybe 10 to 12 tables, the chairs are extremely uncomfortable after a couple of minutes and I am still trying to understand the kitchen. It appears the kitchen is on the same floor and what is rather concerning is the 3 or 4 microwaves.I did not see any real cooking done, maybe I do not really understand the cooking methods but honestly appeared to me that our food was dished up and reheated. The servers were not very attentive at all, we were sitting around for some time with zero interactions and no second offer for drinks in our hour and 30 minutes there. They seemed friendlier when it came to paying..pushing for a tip maybe? The most dissappointing part was the taste of the food, I really expected a massive flavor burst with lots of spice and overwhelming aroma..this was not the case as I had to really lay on the salt and spices myself. In summary then, a great idea as we all get tired of the same old Italian and Burgers on offer in Pretoria but the space is very strange, there is no atmosphere other than the overbearing music, disinterested staff and dissappointing food.
Quite a magical experience. Beautiful scenery and amazing colours. Cant believe I have never heard of this place before. We throughly enjoyed the platter for 2 and the magic juice.Only thing was our waiter mustve been having an off day as she was slightly rude and awkward while serving us or maybe this was just her personalty, Im not sure. I eventually started calling another waiter for help instead which made a massive difference to the whole experience.Im a chocolate fan and had the rose water brownies, was amazing, should have taken a few home.I will definitely go again!
Outstanding lunch at this hidden gem. Joseph was a consummate host whilst Richard lovingly prepped the meals. We had the Lamb with honey and dates tagine and the Arabic Salad - green leaves, fried halloumi, chickpeas, olives, falafel with hummus a delicious dressing.Delighted to see Groote Post Sauvignon Blanc wine on the list - as good as always!Coconut biscuit & date and sesame square were bought to snack on later.La Terrasse is only open for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is only available to guest staying in the guest house, or for functions.Highly recommended.
Called the restaurant/ Cafe to find out if it’s open and do I require a reservation unfortunately the staff member that answered was very unhelpful and confused about my question , As far as I understand from the phone conversation the cafe isn’t open anymore to the public so keep that in mind. If you plan on making a trip
Beautiful experience and great client service.
Such a special and beautiful place!
Absolutely awesome Moroccan experience! The olives are awesome, the food is awesome. Small restaurant on the roof, with a great vibe and a nice cultural experience. Have been there often and food is always great!!Fantastic function venue down stairs
Such a beautiful place. The shop is like an Alladins cave of beautiful gems. The food was tasty and perfect proportions. The staff is friendly and approachable. Service was discrete and perfectly timed. A visit for eyes, palate and mind.
The setup is Morroccan inspired, one can also buy furniture and/or souvenirs. When you walk into the cafe, you are welcomed an aroma that makes you salivate. Unfortunately, when I visited 80% of the dishes that I wanted to try out were available on that day. I settled for their beef tagine and a prawn salad. The beef dish tasted like a homemade meal and the prawns were very chewy but the flavour was there. The Moroccan special drink that was recommended was okay I think it wouldve been great if it was cold (the quantity of ice provided in the drink was not enough).
A great disappointment. The restaurant closed but it still pops up as a restaurant with a full menu. Misleading advertising they are retailers only. Rather go to Plan B in Greenwich Village down the road 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Had an awesome night!!! Fantastic food and great service!
This is not just about wonderfully different, delicious food......it is about a total experience. You honestly feel transported to a rooftop restaurant in Morocco. Highly recommended. The only way it could be improved,is if the waitrons were better trained.
Wonderful food. Very nice and friendly chef that strikes up conversations with patrons. Its a pity that all the staff is not that friendly
Beautiful looking place. Went there on a Saturday, it was full. Would recommend that you book before going there to avoid disappointment.
Awesome Authentic Moroccan Food ! Very small so booking is essential & not open in the evenings.
They offer an amazing experience and they are the best when it comes to service. We were welcomed warmly and they gave us a tour of the place, we felt at home. Our waitress Tanita was absolutely amazing👌10/10
A real cool experience! The food is so flavourful. The only recommendation that I have is that they should be open in the evenings as well! Will make an awesome restaurant at night as well.
Absolutely the best experience. Great food and interresting softdrinks and teas. Deli stocks delectable goodies to take home.Stairs are not for the faint hearted. A little hidden gem and well worth a visit.
Such a hidden gem!! I love this place and everything about it. The food was so good.
Nice food, friendly service and personnel
My Girlfriend and I went to try this place out on the 24th of November 2018. We both suffered extreme food poisoning from the food we had. We both had different meals so we can’t say it was one bad meal as both meals were completely different. We both believe they gave us very old food that has been sitting a while which they just warmed up. I don’t recommend trying this place unless they can prove to the health inspector they are practicing and giving safe food to us.
Amazing Moroccan food in Pretoria. Ver authentic. The breakfast tagine was awesome. And the mint tea is to die for. Go and enjoy!
Beautiful place, awesome staff, nice vibe. A definite hidden gem and unexpected surprise in Pretoria. Be sure to book in advance, only a limited amount of tables available.
Professional, beautiful, scrumptuous food in a wonderful Moroccan setting. Superb indeed
A very special and cozy Moroccan themed place. Delicious and exquisite food and drinks. Friendly service. Truly a gem of a place!
Food is not as good as a couple of months earlier.Absolutely not worth the price you have to pay
Beautiful experience, however the lady at reception should practice patience with clients
Amazing experience and wonderful staff. The food was devine and good for all small and larger functions as well as quick lunches.
Different and fun. Ask Adele to take you on a tour around the house. Try the Vrede and Lust Merlot!
Very different to the usual. Nice vibe!
I will go back again. We spent 3 hours there. Lovely atmosphere and delicious food. 😎
Nice venue with the opportunity to experience new tastes.
What a place , Joehan and Louise serve up an authentic Moroccan experience that will thrill you , fabulous food , attentive and friendly staff , what more could you ask for , a MUST visit
Delicious authentic meals! Love having lunch here.
A little bit of Marocco in South Africa. Very good food and coffee
Friendly clean! Delicious food and a delightful shop!
It was a new experience for us, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The owner is friendly, the service is good and the food really something to try.
Beautiful place, beautiful food!
Fantastic Moroccan experience, the food was great.
Wonderful atmosphere, good food and competent, friendly staff.
If there was zero star rating, then this is what I would give them. Poor seevice, dirty little eatery and not worth your money.
Scrumptious meal, good service - recommended if you are able to climb stairs.
Magical place.. delicious food and excellent service.
Beautiful place with character and the perfect location for entertaining
Delicious food. Gorgeous place
Really great Moroccan food. We went for a company lunch and it was divine. The owner was there and entertained us, explained things to us and would open up bottles of spice and let us smell it. He recommended dishes and even challenged some of us to try the Harissa chili (which was not as strong as it seemed!)The cafe feels as if you are sitting in a Tatooine café (although I guess Star Wars probably got it from Morocco :) )It was fairly full 12:00. The only complaint is the parking -- we couldnt stop inside, but theres parking on the street (a side street, not Atterbury thank good ness). Will go again!
Wow! The smells are incredible, friendly staff. Expect to wait long for food to arrive. Also, strange operating hours.
Unique and good place to visit. friendly. average food.
Fantastic food, interesting venue, why oh why cant they be open in evenings...
All-round exceptional experience!!
Nice place with traditional Moroccan food, the vibe is amazing and the Moroccan tea is amazing
Great service and the food was fantastic 👌🏽
Food is excellent Moroccan style cuisine, you might just have to wait a bit for the food, but is worth it.
OK.......dissapointed in the food.....my french chicken dish and my daughters lamb targine was nothing to write home about......I cook like this at home......to me it was not very Morrocan.....maybe the decor and the way the staff are dressed.
Really overpriced, R340 for 5 TINY dips and a plate full of dry bread as a platter, atmosphere good but service was lacking, had to serve ourselves all our drinks. Dips were plain, and all the food seemed to have been microwaved. Not the flavours one would expect from Morocco.
Brilliant food, flowers, and atmosphere. The staff we dealt with were clued up and very friendly!!
Authentic Moroccan. Go see for yourself
