Seriously some of the freshest food Ive had in a long time, the lamb curry was excellent and the salads had by my wife and mom-in-law were amazing. The setting is lovely and the service was great to, I had the coconut and Mulberry tart for dessert which was also brilliant. really worth a visit, highly recommended! Its only the 2nd time I give 5 stars, but its well deserved.
This was a lovely restaurant. We had a great brunch here and the host and staff were all very friendly. We felt comfortable and the host went out of his way to make sure we were well accommodated. The food was very delicious. They had gluten free and Banting bread as well which I didn’t have but good to know the option was there.Would definitely recommend.
Really a true beauty. The Garden was lovely. Very clean and neat. Unfortunately the only downfall was that we had to wait more than an hour for our meals. We Ordered sandwiches and when they came they were cold. But other than that. Service was Great. Staff were very friendly.
Lovely setting... Service was slow, but communication good. Well priced but some dishes were quite ordinary(fish cakes). Cakes looked really delicious
Decent, but nothing to write home about.Tried the highly recommended lamb shank.. Was highly disappointed... Not so recommended in my view / taste... Was extremely blend...Otherwise it was OK.Kids could not access the playground because we were told it was for the other side... The take away side... Didnt make sense... But yeah... Was told it was out of bounds.
Lovely venue, friendly staff, food and drinks special, presented a bit different - I liked that. Play area for kids, but had to walk out of and around the restaurant to reach the play area as the gate between te restaurant and play area was closed. (Didnt understand why?) Only negative - food and drinks could have been warmer. Also went to the deli, gardens and picnic area absolutely lovely, interesting products to buy, but the staff did not know their products at all. A lot of the products had no price tags and the staff also did not know the prices of the products. Waited a long time in a que to pay. Will try the deli next time for a picnic though.
Love this place. Stunning gardens and yummy fresh food. Was so happy to find bitterballen on the menu! Coffee is fantastic too. Play area for children and cute chickens that walk around. This place has a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Like to just sit in their gardens with a book and something from their deli when I want to get out of the house.
Lovely setting. Interesting menu but good took REALLY long (they were very busy).. . The roasted cauliflower is really lovely.
Ambiance top of the range, food and coffee great............but dont be in aHurry.....service very slow.
Great atmosphere. I love the tables under the trees. They have one of the greatest tea & coffee selections that I have ever seen. If you are a vegan, they have a vegan selection and banting diet options. They allow dogs, which is also awesome. Overall its great there and look forward to my next visit 👌🏻
Love this place, tranquil as can be with lovely gardens and superb service, had a cold beer, still to explore the coffee and eats. Well ru
I LOVE the Afroboer deli side and gardens. Restourant is not appropriate if you have small children that would like to play because there is no access from the restaurant to the childrens play area, therefore I havent visited the restaurant yet. But the deli is amazing and I love sitting in their gardens eating their amazing food while my kids play in the gardens and play area😁
Amazing experience and absolutely no complaints at all. Fantastic Vegan/vegeterian food for those with dietary restrictions. Highly recommend. Please go pay them a visit
Lovely vibe! Great food and service
Great food, nice place. Service world class. Our waitress Courage was absolutely amazing. Well done
Lovely place. Garden is fabulous. Staff is attentive. Food is great and not allways the conventional. They seem to add something extra to their dishes. Would recomend for an elegant experience
What a lovely little gem. We wanted a nice dog friendly place after a hike and this was perfect. We sat outside. Tons of options on the menu and very affordable! Will go back ten times over!
Such a lovely open space for the kids to play while you enjoy a coffee under the trees! Staff were efficient and helpful. Great experience!
I loved the afternoon there. The food was great and the venue was really nice. I loved the little chickens that were running around its worth a visit.
Definetly my favourite place in Pretoria! We had a wonderful picnic in their beautiful garden. It does not even feel like you are in the city! The deli is beautiful and the snacks/ food really tasty! They are very organized and this is truely the best spot for quality time with friends/ and or loved ones!
One of your first customers, just after opening yesterday (Saturday) morning bought the last 2 slices of rainbow cake (take away) to surprise me and satisfy my craving Ive had for this cake. Unfortunately it certainly was not fresh. Dry and disappointing. It should never have been put out on display 😢
Very tranquil outside seating, as well as inside: spaced correctly to be covid-compliant, plus friendly staff, delicious light meals, cakes and coffees, teas or even wine.
Stunning restaurant and venue. Staff, service and food were fantastic. Lots of parking available.Go there!
This is such a unique restaurant! They allow you to take your doggies with. Great experience!
The food was nice but the service can be improved. Beautiful gardens.
We had issues with the quality of the service, but the manager was accommodating and handled it very well. Ill give it another shot because Ive had very good experiences before.
Placed an order earlier this week for 10 am today. Arrived at 10.30. No one knew about my order. Eventually found it on their cell phone messages. The 2 slices of remaining cheese cake was old and dry. They did then offer to get a slice from the Deli which looked like yesterdays but not dry. A tiny slice of cake cost R48. Slow service. Lost me as a client.
Always awesome. Beautiful setting, amazing food and great atmosphere.
One of my favorite restaurants for breakfasts and lunches. Great coffee! Love going there to grab a takeaway coffee, sit in their garden area and read wile my son plays on the jungle jym/ playground.
Very nice. Inside sitting and outside. Beautiful. Good food.
What a lovely morning at Afro-Boer, best breakfast and served by the best ever friendly lady, Courage. The way she enjoys giving and being of service was really outstanding.
Was in the neighbourhood and decided to give Afro-Boer a go. It has a lovely shaded garden with benches to sit. So if sitting on the inside is not your thing, try the outside area in the “garden”. There is an assortment of cakes and pastries as well as the normal sandwiches & burgers. Since it was quite busy, just opted for a grande cappuccino and a mint smoothie. Quite a relaxing atmosphere.
Hidden gem 💎 ... Best food and atmosphere to spoil yourself with ..
Seriously one of the best places in company of good food and grand atmosphere, a delightful venue to meet with friends and family.
A lovely place to relax in the garden. Super tasty food. Thanks!
Good plaas atmosphere. The coffee is fresh and strong. The service on this particular Saturday was really slow and unfortunately the staff was not friendly. I loved the ambience and the food, which was elegantly plated, was really tasty. However, the caramelized apple tart was too deconstructed for my taste. I found the menu to be reasonably priced and reflecting a good variety of options. It also includes vegan food. When I complained, the manager offered to refund me for the tart.
Beautiful place, lovely atmosphere to celebrate a birthday with special friends.
Such a peaceful place to have a cup of coffee and something delicious from the bakery
Stunning venue with tables available in the garden which is absolutely beautiful! Perfect spot for an event like a birthday lunch or a baby shower. The menu is good and the pricing is great but the food could be better! If you choose vibe and ambience over the culinary experience then this is the place for you!
The most relaxing vibe in such a quick moving area. Loved the outside area that’s shaded and very green! Good was amazing, chicken wrap had lots of chicken 😻 and the iced coffee without sugar is 👌🏻👌🏻 Would definitely recommend to families and couples, probably not the best places for ‘hip teens’ but that’s what makes it awesome. 😎 Waiters were super friendly and the service was quick 👍🏻
Awesome food concept, great location. Picnic with the kids is really enjoyable.
First time at Afro-boer & unfortunately they were full. The host suggested we wait at the deli & we ended up having delicious cake & drinks there. Will definitely visit again
Been to afro boer 4 times. First three times there was no issue with my kids walking around on the lawn outside. Not running, not shouting. Just walking. However the last time the floor manager said this was not allowed anymore. Put up notifications that you do not cater for kids and make this properly known when customers book tables.
First time there. Will definitely go again. A jewel!
Lovely inviting atmosphere. Great food, big portions.Great for families or for a brunch date
Lovely food. Warm and cosy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Dog friendly. Play area for children. Beautiful gardens.
Beautiful setting and nice food, but experience was tainted by a surly waitress, Farisai, who seemed quite keen to rush me out. I appreciate I came five minutes before the kitchen closed, and I’ve worked in service before and I know that everyone wants to leave on time, but if that is an issue, a solution may be to close the kitchens earlier? Along with her lack of apology, it was pretty uncomfortable being brought my bill when I wasn’t even half way through, and I left the establishment fifteen minutes before they closed anyway.Having said all that, I’m sure I would have loved it if I had longer to stay. The food was tasty with really interesting combinations, (I’ve come to accept that you don’t get decent chips in S.A., and this was no exception - a bit oily and soggy, compared to your triple cooked wares back in any pub in the UK), and the coffee was excellent. Decor was beautiful and I’m sure had i more time, it would have been an lovely place to sit and relax, looking over the garden with plenty of bird life.
Nice and shady outside. The only place I could get a gluten and sugar free cheese cake! It was OK... The real McCoy just tastes better! Nice smoothies and interesting food. Good space for children to play!
Very nice relaxing restaurant! Great outdoor seating, excellent food and service. Nice restaurant to meet with friends and family.
Despite having an undeniably well laid out venue and pleasant farm-style decor, we unfortunately experienced very slow service, cold food and drinks, and a lack of attentiveness by staff.
Friendly and prompt service. Good food. Special venue.
Truly the look and feel of this restaurant is amazing. The manager and staff are all friendly and could brighten up my day in a minute. But unfortunately the people and the view is better than the food and beverages. We only had cakes and I was not very impressed. They have a large variety though. But I do love a restaurant surrounded by roses.
Little piece of Heaven on earth. Itz a must.
What a lovely restaurant and cafe set on a pretty outside picnic area, complete with childrens jungle gym. Very well kept garden . The food sold in the cafe is well priced and delicious. My grand son loves the place!
Perfect, convenient location near main roads yet nested in the green oasis.Cozy ambiance in discreet afro style offers plenty of room and caters for guest ranging from freelancers seeking quiet spot for work, business people having quck lunch all the way to more relaxed and chilled moms with toddlers having a brake over healthy light lunch with a friend, while overseeing their kids playing at the kiddies zone.Outside area is inviting and lovely with roaming chicken and ideal to bring small dog along, which we did.Service is timely and discreet and the menu, well designed with the variety of light meal and vegan options.Special gem is the open garden area with cozy spots under the trees and lush lawn where you still get service.
Beautiful environment. Great coffee. Good service. Clean and safe. Ive given 3 stars because my Scone was heavy and hard like roosterkoek, and it came with lemon curd and dodgy cottage cheese, at R40? A scone is light, fresh and fluffy, their roosterkoek was hard and dangerous.
Beautiful setting! Yum food! Such a good vibe. Cakes are always fresh and unique. Definitely worth a try!
Beautiful place with delicious cakes/tarts and ginger beer. Service was a tad slow.
The atmosphere in the garden is lovely. Great croissants. Their only let down is their coffee. I have tried their cappuccinos at the Spaza shop multiple times but it is very weak and not enjoyable at all.
Stunning gardens, awesome food, great atmosphere, a true gem in Pretoria! Definitely recommend!
Awesome place and food. Brilliant service
Great food. We are a family of foodies and enjoyed the traditional Afrikaner way of cooking. South Africa is very rich in diversity and we are spoiled with variety.
Very nice and relaxing atmosphere. Food and coffee are great!Love it!
If I could give no stars I would.Waiters totally incompetent.Looked forward!!NEVER AGAIN.
