This my fave restaurant. Food so delicious and the ambiance is great too. Dessert was too sweet though

Lunch at Baobab was very good, I really enjoyed my medium done steak with calamari and chips. I cant fault the place it was a very cold afternoon but the waitress brought me a blanket to cover with even though I didnt ask, I loved that she took initiative. The venue is beautiful with a lovely ambience. Ill go there again.

Good portions, tasty food, attentive waiters and visible management on the floor. My only qualm was the party that was upstairs. The crowd was very noisy. I wish they would have a private enclosed place for such so as not to disturb the other guests who want a quiet ambiance.

Such a beautiful experience and a splendid place for a nice time and family outing. I liked the upstairs dining area with a view. The food is excellent, very tasty and appealing to the eye. Great service, thumbs up 👍

The restaurant is really great with reasonable prices. I ordered a Xai Xai Chicken and it was well cooked and juicy. I went there to celebrate my friends graduation 🎓 day and I would recommend anyone to go there if you want to celebrate anything (my guardians celebrated their wedding week there as well). The staff there is really kind and loving. You will feel the appreciation from them. Thank you Baobab Cafe & Grill.

The place is beautiful but the food taste a bit disappointing. The service as well was not on standard as at some point we will be forgotten. The company was great and that made some of their not so good service a bit bearable.

A gem hidden in the labyrinth of hallways and passages of Menlyn, Baobab is an oasis of amazing food, great drinks and unmatched ambience.The staff are super friendly and make your dining experience an event. Our waiter was extremely polite and kept the table clear (and dry) without leaving us inconvenienced.Our food and drinks were to an extremely high standard with everything prepared fresh.The restaurant is also divided into 4 distinct sections to cater for any occasion, from the intimate dinner for 2 to large parties.Also have to mention that the manager greeted us when we arrived and when we left - making for a very special day.

I wish they had child friendly facilities. Otherwise the food was great

I loved being there. Its a very big restaurant with lot of seating choices. The outside view is equally satisfying. The food is great too, big portions, exactly what you paid for. Although it took a while for food and drinks to get to our table, I wont mind mind going back again.

We visited on a Sunday evening and had such a lovely time here. They played nice music and the waiters were very friendly. The food was very reasonably priced and prepared very well. We really enjoyed our time here and will be definitely going back again. The place is suitable for any kind of date. A date with friends or family or a loved one or a business meeting or work colleagues. Te environment caters for any kind.

I always come here once or twice a month. Food never disappoints. Great cocktails, great service, great views n meals arent that expensive. Their cheesecake is to die for. They really got an amazing menu. Its really a nice restaurant. Staff always ready to help. Its very clean. Deserts always on point. Indoor sitting very elegant. Outdoor very peaceful. Upstairs very beautiful. Just that its not a great idea coming here when its busy. Great crafted beer as well. They have a great selection for meat lovers.

Just love their sweet chilly chicken, it is delicious. I enjoy going to Baobab, as you get this real africa ln vibe. The staff are friendly and the service is super fast even if the restaurant is packed. I would definitely recommend baobab, it is worth your money. A dining experience that is world class, from Decor, food and staff, we were met with luxury, taste and proffesionalism. This is not a restaurant, this is a dining experience that is an escape into an African art exhibition that ticks all your sensory experience boxes! I will travel from far to come again and again. This restaurant has yet to disappoint me. The service has always been very good, the food tasty with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Baobab cafe has a stunning view from the large balcony but also has seats inside for those chilly or windy evenings. Definitely one of my favorite stops in Pretoria!

Upon entry - we were greeted good however we walked in to no one giving us direction on which table we would like to sit on & we looked lost. It took them a few minutes to get someone to give us direction & the table/s we wanted to sit on were reserved & I believe in first come first serve in this.Food - the burger I had was salty & the glass of juice expensive for that size. There were no variety of sauces only tomato sauce, salt & pepper & they jumped from one table to another as they said they did not have enough.The server/waiter was okay but could have been great.Prices are too high for my liking, I dont think I will go back.

Where do I start?I order bone marrow steak (medium rare, came back well done). My companion ordered well done mixed grills, they were well done.We only got one wet wipe for 2 portions of sticky ribs and wings. To say the bone marrow steak was under seasoned would be an understatement.Desserts, cheese cake was good, everything else was a nightmare. To top it all off, my son didnt get cutlery. Definitely wouldnt recommend. Spend your money elsewhere.

I visited the restaurant a few weeks ago, and I was not elated with the service I received, I’m not sure if the restaurant was under stuffed or what, but I was attended to by so many waiters that I even lost track who was my waiter, I had to request menus to order after 10 min without being attended to, when my food came I had to remind them that the drinks were missing— I had to request sauces from another table, I had to request a random waiter for the bill because the one I had requested was no show, took over 10 min for me to get my bill, then we had to wait again for the speed point. I did not have a good experience and the place was recommended by a friend. Maybe Saturdays are just too busy and one should try weekdays😭😭

Its a great South African restaurant, infact the only one in Pretoria serving authentic SA dishes, ironically, in South Africa, there are very few restaurant serving local dishes. Over the years, they have really improved, much more relaxing sofas outside, cubical on the patio, some nice touches here and there. I still believe the potjie is terrible, no matter which one you go for and its really disappointing, the only South Africa dish that matters more, they managed to messed it up, sea food however is far better then the traditional dishes. The last thing, they should colour that dark wood, it had been there for years and its really ugly and pretty much invisible with low light inside, this place need a facelift after many years of existence, its ageing and honestly, its not pretty.

I save this place for special occasions and my family have had quite a few iconic meals, for celebrations, birthdays, family gatherings. I love the baobab tree for starters, so the decor takes me back to the days travelling between Messina and Louis Trichardt. The restaurant offers a really touristy menu, but hey, we can be tourists in our own country and enjoy. When ever we have a visitor from outside SA, I am always sure to make this a stop. Awesum view at sundown, from the outside area.
