This checkers is one of my favourite grocery stores. They do promotions every now and then, helps save a few Rands. Its quiet big with almost everything you need in the kitchen and a few other things like medication etc. Their food is always fresh. The bakery side is always very busy. Oh they sell wine also!!

Worst Checkers. Rude staff, including the management. They never have enough tellers. The security at the door stopped me because my toddler wasnt wearing a mask! When I told this uninformed person that it isnt law for a 3 year old to wear a mask, and asked to see the manager, she refused. Clearly this Checkers isnt run by, nor did they employ the brightest pencils in the pack. Keep up the good work, you clearly are pleasing to the masses.

The shop is excellent however the service by the food department is a definition of incompetence. I have experienced the incompetence several times, and bad attitude!

3 Cashiers on month-end 18h00 ... this is definitely not the way to do business.

I always buy my groceries here monthly, the store is very big and just convenient. However for the past 2 months I have purchased a champion boere wors that smells. I always buy the same product but this time...I am not happy about it. Starting to think they are selling us old staff 😕

This is large hyper market with lots of fresh produce, baked goods, frozen items, groceries, pantry staples and also garden, pool and clothing items. They are very reasonably priced and often stock more than one brand per product so you can pick the right price for you. I found the staff very friendly.

A very humangous and convenient store as it has got quite a variety. The service is very poor, I went there for an exchange on a damaged product, I waited a whole 30 minutes while the cashier looked around for a manager to give her some number before she could assist me, but there was no one to assist her. While asking her colleagues if they seen any of them? .. They responded by saying.. OH SOME ARE KNOCKING OFF, WE ARE LEFT WITH THE LAZY ONES A store can have all the stock in the world but the service is everything. Its even worse when all this is being done by management.

Today was the first time in my 57yrs a store packer searched my parcels in my trolley that I had bought from other stores, not sure if I should have insisted on the store manager or even store security to come to my aid I was absolutely gobsmacked not sure if this was an attempt to accuse me of theft or was spite motivated. Furthermore neither the teller nor the packer even asked for till slips from the other stores they just opened my parcels and unpacked them. I will not be returning to a Checkers store ever again. The temerity and rudeness shown by your staff is disgusting.

Money market service is terribly slow and unorganized

They have a lot of things. They just dont have big appliances. Their good is good. Even the meat in the fridges is good. I havent encountered anything bad. I am weary of some the cooked food. It tasted like they used old ingredients things that were close to expiring. But no complaints. The lines move fast and the staff is friendly.

This is a checkers I can without a shadow of a doubt and with no reservation whatsoever recommend to any person persons wishing to visit a checkers and you can expect to get most products here that most shops of this type stocks

Nice place to get different stuffs. Cheap and quality stock that are affordable and beautiful looking.The staff are professional and friendly.I personally go here to buy things that I need and I can recommend it to anyone.

Worst customer service ever! I bought R4000 worth of groceries, including loads of their special offers on the new savings card. As I was about to pay, I realized that the discounts was not subtracting on the total. I asked the cashier and she confirmed thst there was no discounts. I asked for a manager who told me that the server was probably down. She tried manually discounting products, but I had to tell her what I bought that was on special and how much the special was. She was struggling and by then they have halve way unpacked my trolley. I said that it doesnt look like they know what they are doing because I am still loosing out on the products that I could not name that were on special, as well as all the other customers not realizing that they didnt get the discount. The manager flung herself around and walked away with me trying to talk to her!!! So childish! Has she ever heard about client service? I do all my shopping at Checkers and has never had a problem at any of the smaller stores. Menlyn Checkers does not give a damn!

Great store with great specials BUT does not restock products regularly enough. Also if you dont watch the scanner at the till, many times you dont get the the special they advertised and pay full price instead. But compliments must be made to the cashiers here. Friendliest bunch out of all the branches and other supermarkets Ive been to.

This store is great. It as literally anything from toys for boys and girls, up to clothes and then all the groceries. All at the low prices that Checkers are known for! They are wheelchair accessible (despite being on upper floor) and staff will definitely assist. A great idea and such a helpful location.

Definitely the biggest checkers Ive ever been to. Their bakery section needs some more variety though. Very little bread selection but their sweet section definitely made up for that.

This shop is one of my favourite shopping pleasures. You get a lot of bargains and the food is always fresh. The coffee shop takes the cake with its combos and relaxing atmosphere.

The male chef at the ready warm food section resued to dish in my reusable bowls. He could merely zero the scale with the reusable tupperware and still weigh the food on weight.Reduce waste.Will redo review once issue is resolved.

I did not buy much there I was just on a bit of a window shopping spree and I needed to do something to get the afternoon to pass so I went inside the Checkers it is a huge shop with I am pretty sure everything that you may need or want it was quite busy but orderly and clean so yeah all in all a good place to spend time looking at Christmas decorations and listening to a Boney M classic 😉

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!I wont do my shopping anywhere else. Exept meat.Once they have a special running you wont beat the price anywhere. They heave the widest variety of items Ive ever seen. The shelves are always fully stocked. Everything where you expect it to be. The shop is clean. Everyone is super friendly. Keep it up!P.S. Be there early to avoid the rush.

Its a mega grocery store where youd find just about anything you need and their fruit & veggie department is so clean with fresh healthy products.

Veggie section is not as impressive as Food Lovers Market but thats understandable. Otherwise, I was very happy with prices and food quality. Got some of the best peanut butter ever here!

For the past year I have been shopping here and have been watching the specials closely. I can honestly say that this is definitely one of the stores that are advertising specials that are never in stock during the special period but miraculously suddenly appear on the shelves the very next day the specials are over. I have confronted a staff member and his manager about this on three occasions now and have been met with very bad attitudes and no products and clear explanations on why this is the case. One of the staff members told me off the record that they are being instructed by management not to stock the shelves when a special is running. So at this store its a classic case of bait and switch tactics being used to lure people to the store and then cheat them out of the special offerings.So be warned this place will definitely cheat you as its the standard modis operandi of the store management.

Always enjoy going to Checkers. Most staff are very helpful and friendly. Just very irritating when there are no trolleys and no assistance.

They have the most delicious baby hake I have ever came across... Like I dont know where do they get their spices, but its taste is on point.

Nice shop but if you go to get a cash back beginning of the month be prepared for worse customer service as checkers workers do 5 sassa withdrawals for themselves while customers stand in the line. Management kindly look into this unprofessional behavior.

Ive moved my monthly grocery shopping here because Pick n Pay Faerie Glen was becoming more and more of a frustration due to their miserably rude staff, poor price labelling and extremely high prices where everything is marked as a special. Checkers Hyper Menlyn are not much better, however I find the friendlier and more accommodating staff worth the effort of going back here.
