Its a MASSIVE Checkers with GREAT products. The shelves are rarely empty and the specials are very competitive.

Bought a 24 piece dinner service. The quality was the worst I had ever seen in a normal shop. I have seen better factory rejects. Went back and fortunately a manager helped by picking the best of 3 sets to make up a barely acceptable set.

I dont usually go here, it was kind of crowded. A bit too crowded for my liking and too much noise going on. I most certainly will not be returning there. However the service was good and the queues were moving just fine, considering the amount of busy bodies that were there, the trip didnt take as long as it could have.

The place is very spacious no hassles walking from aisle to aisle , variety of merchandise and freshly produced products available in store.

The bakery is absolutely unacceptable all good are never fresh at all .

I absolutely love this checkers. Got everything we need and we go monthly grocery shopping her all the time. Ive always had really good service, however yesterday my husband, daughter and I went grocery shopping and when we got to the till everything seemed normal. After the lady packed 2 plastics she disappeared. When the cashier (Mabel) went to take a clip off the baby formula, she told me to pack the bags myself. I told her I was not going to, and when I look around, every other teller has someone packing bags. I asked her to to get someone to do it on her way to take the clip off the baby formula and she looks at me dead serious with a question Who? I stood there till someone came to pack. I feel like its rude first of all the way the lady (Mabel) spoke to me and service was a bit sh*try this time round. Really not happy.

It is spacious and easy to get shopping

My daughters handbag was grabbed inside the store by two guys wearing Checkers uniforms. This is unacceptable how come no one sees them you must know your staff that is working in your store

It is too small to cater fir the number of customers especially in weekend and at the end of the month. Extend the shop and tellers rather.

Floor managers and supervisors very slow at resolving queries. Takes them a half an hour just to confirm a price. Seems they are on a slow strike or really hate there job

We regularly buy from Checkers Hyper Mayville, before the lockdown I went to buy our groceries for the next month and bought 3x bottles of something, of which one had an electronic anti-theft tag. When arriving home I noticed I only had 2 bottles, when going back the queues was enormous due to everyone wanting to shop so I left it. Weeks later when it was quieter I went back with the slip, the manager was very helpful and took me to security, where we saw on camera that the bottle with the electronic tag was never put into my trolley, they had no problem supplying me with another bottle. Great service, great attitude, will definitely keep shopping there.

Terrible place to shop. Customer service does not exist at all. Avoid at all cost as shelves are mostly empty. Well worth the effort to go shop somewhere else. Its amazing that they do any business at all.

Some of the worst customer service I have experienced in a Checkers Hyper. Both the Mayville and Kolonade Hypers have rude, ignorant staff who are beriddled with apathy. All they do is stand around, ignore clients and gossip. I actively avoid this branch

Always a pleasant shopping experience. Easy access, well stocked and pleasant staff. Cannot say that I have ever had a bad experience. Also no Wow! Out of the ordinary experiences. Average retail service and convenient shopping. So definitely a 3 star rating.

I dont know why they put the coffee stand but when you want to buy all you get is excuses rather they take it off and dont sell coffee at all...I have never had a good experience when it comes to buying a coffees always bad service

Most of the time expect to stand in ques for a long time at tellers due to very few till points open. The bulk of the time in store will be spent waiting to pay for your goods

Its a hyper, so its massive, therefore its very well stocked. Prices are OK, I shop here very often. The place is also clean and the assistants are helpful when needed. The operation goes hours are also OK. I like the fact that there variety of brands for almost every item on stock, so youre stuck to the house brand or the popular brands only.

I love shopping at the Checkers Hyper in Forest Hill as the store really is well stocked and I normally do not wait in queues.

Worst service ever. No prices on some of the items. None of the scanners worked. Went to customer service for a price and they informed me that I they cant help me I have to ask at the cashiers, what a disaster, I was informed that I should have gone to customer service because I had 3 items that had no prices on the shelves. My 3rd item did not even register on the system so the manager had to create an entry to be able to give me a price. Why do you have a customer service if they even cant help you?

Huge shop with a very large variety of my favorite coffees , snacks and even tools. I always prefer doing bulk shopping here every month end , and if they were closer to me I would even skip my local spar to go here. Excellent prices and I have never had any problems with their food quality. That being said, they can get crazy busy.. an absolute nightmare on black friday, BUT so are all the other shops as well.

The customer service at Checkers Hyper Wonderboom was very good, although we are now in a new month with big changes with 15% VAT! Every customer must have patience, please! The staff try their best with changes!

Checkers Hyper was crazy busy, the mall its self too. But as always good service with alot of variety too choose from. I love spending time rummaging through the marked-down items since the bargains are amazing.

I have been shopping at mayville checkers for the past 8 years, the customer service has really declined drastically. I was at the 10 items or less checkout and there were 5 tills open no one was interested in helping except one sweet cashier who was actually the furthest away the extra star is for her. After that visiting the checkers liquor shop my partner was very rudely instructed to pack out our own basket which is not a problem but she could see our hands were full of bags. Not returning will take my daily and monthly business elsewhere i dont see any point in spending hard earned cash at such a place.

Very good supermarket or rather department store. You can find almost anyting you want to buy there including a pharmacy. At reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful staff.

Nice to shop there. there is relaxing mode. You find most of household items food freshly. The CATERIN also for take away lunches from sandwiches salads cooked meat variety & vegetables at reasonable price.

Was looking for a quick setup pool and had few options to pick from. The assistance could be better but did find someone that helped us out. Had little problems when checking out and did not have to stand in long line.

Its a Checkers Hyper, its the same as any other.But DO NOT go there month-end for quick shopping. Unless you want to do some deep soul searching while you wait in an express queue for hours.

I queued for a lotto ticket today between 13:00 and 13:30. The cashier who was sitting next to the lotto machine was busy with a customer but before completing the transaction I heard her telling the next customer to use one of the other two cashiers that were sitting behind her . The lady moved to the free cashier. I then said aloud why nobody was informing us as they were just seated and we had been standing there for some time but I am unsure if the cashier that informed us heard me.My turn came and I approached her. She said in Setswana A o batla go betsha? but I could see that she was irritated, her body language said it better that her words. I then told her what I wanted, but at the same time I also got irritated as I had been waiting for the service for some time. I then left without doing business with Hyperama and took it somewhere else.My point is : it is the responsibility of a cashier to call customers when they are in the queue. She shouldnt not be angry , annoyed or irritated when customers think she is the only one serving but her colleagues. She can easily tell them (colleagues) that customers are waiting instead of giving a negative attitude.Hyperama you need to start investing in your customer care training. Please get your act together.

Love this hypermarket...it has everything in one store. There other smaller shops to buy food and relax. Like the fact that the Furniture shop and liquor shops are nearby!

VERY POOR SERVICE!!! I was there on the first day of the month, I took a pair of shoes from the shelves without seeing that the price is not on them.When we got to the que the lady at the till asked me for the price, it wasnt on the shoes obviously, so very annoyed she asked another annoyed employee to go check the price. She was gone for more than 10minutes, by this time the que was piling up heavily. She came back without the shoes and told me, THE CUSTOMER that if I wanted the shoes Ill have to go get te price myself because she cannot find the shoes (witch were hanging on the very first shelf). I asked are you kidding me? And she just stared at me. I did go get the shoes because I really wanted them. When I came back and asked her how its the customers responsibility to do their job, no answer, just a ntah 🤨How is it acceptable for an employee to tell a customer to do their job?? Very poor.

Very big. You can almost find everything you are looking for. Friendly and helpful staff. The pancakes are to die for.

Constant good selection and good service. Fresh produce needs a wider selection especially herbs and fresh spices e.g. ginger. But have otherwise never failed to satisfy.

Situated in Mayville Mall it can get rather hectic on weekends but its a great supermarket ti visit. Fresh meat and veggies...wonderful precooked dinners and desserts...i have no complaints...

Always a pleasure shopping here, except month end unless you go early. Best monthly shopping place for miles.

Checkers hyper got over 4 hundred trolleys out of order but dont replace them and losing customers that turn around and go shop elswere so checkers is also losing money

Mayville mall - small but efficient for shopping & eating out. open 9h till 18h from Monday till Friday. 9h till 17h Saturdays & 9h till 13h on Sundays. Does not cater movie or have a children corner.

Good all round. Limited stock on some items but overall very decent shopping experience.

Why are pensioners not allowed in your store

Has more than the usual variety of products. A huge power tool section, not normal for Checkers. Very helpful staff, shelves always well stocked.

You almost get everything you need, their coffee shop needs work, No real Barista, Their internally baked bread is horrible, I hand throw it in the bin

Not so conjested. Eateries right outside like almost in the shop. Has a chemist. Very inviting.

It is always nice to do my shopping their my only problem is that most of the time there is not enough cadhoers tills open.

CHECKERS ARE WELL STOCKED AND VERY GOOD PRICES. OTHER SHOPS EXCEPT PEP ARE ALSO GOOD. STAFF OF PEP STORES ARE VERY VERY RUDE. CENTRE COULD BENEFIT BY HAVING A STEAKHOUSE RESTAURANT.

Had some issues with the amount of personnel at the tills. Not enough tills open for the amount of clients. Other than that the isle layout is good and the pricing on the items are moslty always correct and visible. They often havr great specials on everyday groceries. There is also two great breakfast restaurants (wimpy and Elmas).

You get everything you need in one place, its convenient. I love it plus u get to save more money too.

Real terrible..... Power off..... No info available for how long its going to be out.... If you leave to go 2 the toilet they dont want you 2 go back in.... We are pasient but they are very rude.... BaD experience..... And if phone the management ... No body pick up the phone.....

Very bad service. Only 4 tills open of which 2 was waiting for cash. The rest were talking to co-workers. Security blocked me to pay 1 bread at cigarette counter although I wanted to buy cigarettes as well. Said I will have to swipe my card twice. Wont go there again!!!

As far as shopping goes Checkers in Mayville has been sufficient so far. Wide variety at affordable prices.

Certain items not priced. Basically all grocery items in limited variety. Lovely fried fish and cooked foods although maybe a bit pricy. Never toooo long ques. Close to expiery veggies removed and placed on special at times. Parking close by and autobanks.

Shop is ALWAYS clean and stocked. Management is available on the floor to assist. And the pancakes in the front helps a lot 😊
