TL;DR: Perfect for everyone. Extremely good food. Excellent view. Well trained staff.This is an amazing place. Its definitely a bucket list item, where when in Parys, this is a place to visit. There is a possibility to not be able to get in because its so popular but then its totally worth it to book a table. Its perfect for any tipe of group, family, with children, just friends, lovers, elderly couples and birthdays. The food is so so so good with the best dink options. Even the dessert was just phenomenal. The staff was very very well trained. The place is located right beside the river with a mind blowing view. Its in a wooded area which gives it a very mystical and whimsical feel.

Beautiful ambience, stunning place to relax and have a drink or a meal....Coffee shake was yummy.

An unexpexted culinary delight in Parys! They have an amazing menu with a huge variety of mouth watering dishes to chose from. The staff is extremely friendly and we really appreciated it when our waitress served us in flawless Afrikaans. The setting of the restaurant on the Vaal river is excellent! We had a lovely lunch on a very busy long weekend. The staff were very friendly and helpful just think they were short on staff due to being so busy. Would recommend phoning and booking a table ahead of time on a busy weekend.

A trip to Parys must include coming here. This was our third time and we where not disappointed. Lebo our waitress was magnificent and ensured that we where well taken care of. All items on the menu are delicious and the portion sizes are generous. Will most definitely be visiting again soon. Booking is a must as they are always very busy.

Lovely place right next to the river. It was unfortunate that we couldnt sit outside by the river due to the rain. Will have to come back a next time. The pizzas were superb!

Amazing beautiful place and set up on the historical Vaal River. Unfortunately the food doesnt stand up at the same level. Fillet was absolutely test-less and dry, pizza dought test-less was compensated with too rich topping, on the pasta is better not to talk about. Generally, a part the fillet the food was giving the impression to rich.

There is a need for improvement at this great venue the food whas great service excellent but if management is honest with themselves they can improve a lot stand back and take something out of the Bertus Basson book this is meant well

Fantastic venue in a beautiful setting. Service was quick and friendly even though they were very busy. The food was fantastic and huge portions... very good value for money.The only downside for us was the lack of sufficient parking. We had to park down the road around the corner and walk to the restaurant. Not the worst thing, but its the only negative I can think of.

Very beautiful place! Can take fotos by the river or enjoy a meal, but keep in mind it is quite expensive but for what you are getting it is worth it. The meals are very big for one person so if you would want to save buy a pizza and just share it. Also it has a nice atmosphere as it is a house that was refurbished for a restaurant.

Os restaurant Parys is what it is, saturated with Os. Add 2 w and one h and the taste buds maths does it all. Whoooow.

Kindly update your page to mention prior booking is a requirement.We drove over 700kms and made a detour at Parys to stop by this restaurant for a late lunch only to find out that we need to book two weeks in advance.Needless to say, we ordered takeaway pizzas that took more than an hour to prepare but were very delicious=5stars to the chefI have never given a place a 1star but this is solely because both my husband and I found the hostess to be quite arrogant towards us (maybe we didnt look very kempt after more than 8hours of travel with a baby under 1yr) regardless the lady assisting with parking was kind enough to offer an apology and requested us to come again ofcourse after we book.Q: Do we want to come again? I dont think so.How you treat your customers whether dressed up or dressed down says alot about an establishment.P/s: 1 start because there is no option for 0star for your arrogant staff

A beautiful gem hidden on the Vaal river. The service is great with amazing seating between the garden outside. The house is just as special. Just note the time to get your meal is a while, but well worth the wait!Amazing portions and great food with an atmosphere to match. Very family orientated, but I’d recommend booking in advance to get a good seat.

I’ve been to O’s a few times and I was happy to come back and try the Oxtail. Unfortunately they completely dropped the ball. All our food was cold and had to be sent back. My food returned dry and burned. Very disappointing. My rice had a film of dryness on. We had it removed from the bill.

Always a relaxing inviting all friendly well stocked and on hands restaurant to go to. Right on your doorstep. Good service and a must to go place.

Don’t miss sundowners, and then stay for dinner. You have a choice of a pub type atmosphere at Die Plek, which has a deck with more up market pub atmosphere with music playing and seating overlooking the river or a you can opt for a more relaxed view over the river in the gardens with seating which gives the feeling of privacy. The waiters are very attentive, the food choice and quality is amazing and will not disappoint. This place has been around for a while and has a good reputation. We’ll definitely be back.

We were 26 people for Mothers Day, excellent food and service even when they had a busy day. They will see us again!PS. Do not order the pork schnitzel except if you have fasted for a week, had to take away half of the portion, I will not be sharing it the next day!

Outstanding service and very fast. The outdoor sitting area at the river is great with a beautiful garden. One would expect the menu to be less heavy for such place. Good selection of steaks. Make sure to ask for the sauce to be served on the side if you like to be in control of your taste buds. Nice location. The restaurants outdoor seating area would benefit from more lights at night. The sound of the crickets and the river make you feel as if youre in the tropics.

Very popular on weekends. So prepare to wait! There is one dish for vegetarians, a cottage pie and salad. The selection of food is good with ample portions. Wonderful shade under the trees. The corrugated iron roof of the under cover seating is very hot. It was 34C when we were there so it would be OK on a cooler day.

Great atmosphere in the garden setting.Food prepared fresh so dont be in a rush.At first glance it might seem expensive but the portions of the food justifies it.Booking essentian over weekends.Alwasy a spot we visit when in town.The pizza are amazing and they do not hold back on toppings.

Visited with 2 families (4 kids) and were told that kids arent allowed (over 21s only in Die Plek) and that the cocktail bar is owned by someone else (same font on the sign at the turnoff though). Could not order drinks from the cocktail bar and have them in the garden.Waiters didnt wear face masks.Bad experience!! Seems more like a biker roadhouse/bar than a fancy family restaurant.Staff (including the Manager) was very rude. Seems interesting that this business model would be adopted/implemented during hard times like the COVID pandemic.

A gem hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Parys! Such a beautiful setting and great food. The kids loved watching the Koi in the old pool and running around the garden. Book in advance if you want to sit close to the river - what a beautiful view!

This place is wonderfull. Took my wife there for her birthday. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. Their food is some of the best in Parys, would recommend Os to anyone.

Good food and beautiful setting!

Was so surprised with the food at Os restaurant. Even though the restaurant was super busy, we did not wait that long for our food and the portions were big. They are pricey charging R 130 for a chicken salad, however I am used to getting n plate full of leaves and drips and drabs of chicken pieces with a few salad ingredients, but the chicken salad at Os was more than that. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

The food, the waiter, the service everything was just perfect.

Wonderful food, cozy atmosphere and the car guard had extra umbrellas for the pouring rain. Even towels to dry and blankets inside the restaurant. We will definitely return
