Private owned wine estate. Good wines available. Between Wellington and Cape Town. Nelson Shiraz is a very good option. Good to visit if you like your wines.

I was in a pleasant standard twin room. It was clean, tidy and had pretty much everything I needed (kettle, tea, milk, bottled water, fridge) and air con. The bed was comfortable and I slept really well. It was peaceful at night, there was a little noise from the road - but I found it unobtrusive.I stayed 3 nights for a medical negligence mediation training course - which was rather intensive - with lots of evening homework. So sadly, I didnt see much of the farm, but even just being in the grounds was peaceful and felt a million miles from the city. I didnt eat the evening meals - as Id made other plans - but the food we had at lunch and tea breaks was excellent.We were lucky enough to be treated to a wine tasting - stunning wines: the Chardonnay and Dads Blend were my favourites. Lisha (the winemaker) is clearly very gifted and passionate. The Nelson family were truly wonderful hosts - nothing was too much trouble (thank you Alan, Lisha, Gratia & Daniel for putting up with us the whole week!)

A beautiful well maintained wine estate. An ideal wedding or function venue with many areas to choose from. Great wines on offer along with tasting.

Wonderful little winery with nice food and tasting pairings. We loved walking around the estate. Its a very popular venue for weddings and functions. We were brought here on a wine tour from Cape Town.

Was there for the Galileo open air movie night under the stars. Beautifully kept estate with a lovely pool and there are chalets as well which i assume you can book you want to stay overnight.

A lovely wedding venue, working wine farm, rolling lawns, swimming pool, fresian horses, accommodation, free wine tasting in the week.

Perfect location, stunning wines and breathtaking views. Lovely hosts and Lisha is a very experienced wine maker.Dont miss a carriage drive (only after request)

It was really great attending the South African Medical-Legal Mediation Training there in July 2016 with my friend and colleague from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Stellenbosch. The ambiance, the decor, the courtesy, the food, and the wine were all splendid. I highly and unreservedly recommend the Nelson Wine Estate for any guests as groups, couples, or individuals.

Accommodation was terrible. No toilet paper, cold water tap didnt work. Shower barely worked. 2 saucers, 2 teaspoons, only 1 cup. Worst complimentary muffin Ive ever tasted.

Not a great experience, whatsoever:A fun wedding –BUT:- Unfriendly staff- Unprofessional staff (bunch of kids behind the bar)- Unprofessional owner, who verbally attacked my partner when they disagreed whether the wine was faulty or not- No reply to the email I send over 2 weeks ago prior to this post, highlighting the events of that evenings- No credit card or withdrawal facilities- Dirty Guest room – especially for the price- No napkins on the tables – not even paper napkins, at a wedding- Not impressed – especially since I have not heard back from them after my email either...
