Unfortunately, not the best experience at De Kelder. The bar area, (also smoking area) is stuffy - especially when the blinds are closed. Food was a bit bland and tasteless. We tried the dom Pedro, but it was undrinkable and very thick - came only with a straw.It seems like they are understaffed, since the poor waitress was running around serving multiple tables in different areas. She started neglecting our table once food was served and we ended up ordering drinks from the bar.I remember eating here about 3 years ago and it was a much different and much better experience. Its clear that they are struggling or lost their touch - in desperate need for some upgrades and refocusing.

Last night, I encountered one of the best, nope, the best Eisbein ever in my life time! Crispy texture at outside and tender meat in with full of juicy!Foods came out really faster than I expected.Amazing food and friendly staffs! Must visit again soon!

Normally after a wine tasting this was our go to spot... I was extremely disappointed yesterday the service and food was a let down.. Never had it like that before before

The venue was beautiful but as soon as we sat down I could feel the air conditioning dripping on my arm. The staff was decent. The waitress had gotton my order wrong and lied about it saying it was for a different customer. The pizza was okay. It was bland and a bit chewy. As a whole it was an okay experience but not a place I would come back to.

Took a drive all the way from Mitchells Plain & Strandfontein just to have lunch at your establishment. Only our second time here and your services certainly did not disappoint. Had a lovely time with my family at your restaurant. Your waiter was friendly and saw to our every need. I certainly will be back again and dont mind driving out so far since the scenery on the way is worth it as well.

New in town, so we are in the process of trying out all the Paarl restaurants. Chicken curry was tasteless with only small pieces chicken smothered in a thickish sauce. This restaurant needs to reimagine itself or they may not survive with all the great restaurants in Paarl.

Seriously good burgers! Warm, friendly and speedy service. My only issue was our proximity to the smoking area, and how the smoke flew out each time someone went in or out the door.

Ordered 8 coffees / hot chocolates. Drinks arrived in drips and drabs 5-10 minutes apart. Not a single drink was hot or even luke warm. Will definitely never return. Cant really complain about the service as there was none.

Food and service was great

The food was out of this world. I ordered Prawn curry and its few restaurants that are able to make a delicious curry. The portions are enough for two people. The waitress Chante was very friendly and helpful. I had a craving for curry when I came there and left with an even bigger craving. Your food was just WOW WOW WOW!I hope the other branches follow your example. I would hope to visit again soon. Thank you for the wonderful warm experience on a cold wet night.

Visited it last night 25/02/17. Nice place, nice vibe, good food but...just a few hiccups i want to point out. First the arrival, the person i assume the manager stood at the door to welcome patrons. Yet no smile, rather a face that said I hope they are not coming in. Second the waiter got our orders wrong not once but twice and the wait wow, they really take there time in the kitchen but one would expect to wait really long if the place was packed except it wasnt. Third We sat a corner booth next the door leading to the smoking area. Which was a bit of a itch as people were moving in an out and not always closing the door behind them. Next to us was a reserved booth that we switched to but wasnt marked as reserved and we were politely told about its unavailability. Something that could have been avoided if a clear sign was on the table and not just a erected menu. Yet i may visit again maybe try a different table and hopefully get an attentive waiter and be welcomed with a inviting smile as one would expect on arrival

Service was okay. But the burger must have been the worst burger i have ordered at a restaurant. Clearly use boxed patties instead of making their own from scratch. Dont know if its only used during the Monday special. But definitely wouldnt order it again.

Very friendly staff but the food was not great. We had the sirloin steaks with chips and the vegetables of the day which were not incredible.

Bad service and the food is also not that good. They kept messing up orders and forgetting to bring things, it took them 35 minutes to bring a class of wine. Its just bad id advice not to come here.

Me and a friend went to have lunch, we ordered oxtails and upon return both the oxtail were rotten and when we informed the staff they gladly returned the food. We payed for our drinks and on our way out they laughed their lungs out,🙄 which then gave me a lot of questions....what is realy funny on serving rotten food.

No service

I was left dissapppointed in both the quality of the food and overall service. From the moment we entered the venue this evening it felt too cold inside. I could see they had an internal wood fire heater but it wasnt lit up. Then the waiter only had 3 menus for us and we were 4 ppl. I asked him for another menu and he walked off with the 3rd menu instead. Might have been a misunderstanding. We ended up having to share menus. Then the drinks and coffee order took 20 minutes which felt too long. At least the coffee wa hot. We ordered the steak special. I ordered medium and my steak was more on the rare side. The baked potatoe ordered tasted like it had been standing for too long, wasnt fresh. The mushroom sauce we ordered was only brought after we reminded the waiter about it. My steak was halfway by the time the mushroom sauce made an appearance. The mushroom sauce itself was bland and had minimal flavour to it. The complimentary veg was ok at least but not great. Then the overall service wasnt great. The waiter never asked once if everything was ok during our meal. The best part of this meal was the coffee. Just a very dull experience for me and Im not sure Id go for another meal here.

Die Kelder, Paarl. Advertising Sunday specials on Pizza and sushi of 40%. Check your bill! We ordered 2 pizzas and reviewed NO discount, when we enquired about it, we were told to come back the following Sunday to have it corrected. We did that and ordered sushi this time. I asked about the previous incorrect bill, only to get lame excuses on how we should have ordered the same food again or it will mess up their books. The final bill came and we received 20% off the previous meal. I did not feel like making a scene, so I paid and left. I used to visit them quite frequently but I no longer will.

A nice place to eat with friends, groups or family. There is a separate bar for peolpe who just want to relax. There is slot machines. The place is child friendly. I personaly feel that the waiting peroid for you food is a bit long.

5 years ago we were there, everything was perfect except for the espresso from instant powder. Everything went wrong this year. My fillet was glibberig like dog meat, almost raw, although medium ordered and tasteless ZERO. My partners steak ordered as medium was very tough and dripping bloody. The salad of a fellow travelers consisted of withered leaves and rubbery carrots, the dressing was totally acidified. The service was unreasonable. We waited more than an hour. Never again.
