We have had breakfast here a couple of times while traveling between Knysna and Cape town. Every time we have been a bit early before they opened, and every time they invited us in to sit and wait inside and wait for the kitchen to open. The food is good and the coffee is warm. Wonderful view out over the bay.

Most beautiful setting right at the water. Best fish and chips we have eaten in a very long time. Superb. Drinks being milkshakes were the real thing. The best lime milkshake was the feedback from the wife. The Chocolate shake was also great. Service was prompt and professional. Food arrived in good time. Prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Been there in this week.You have to comply with Covid regulations. Sanitize masks ect.Found that waiters and patrons wearing masks.Except the staff in the kitchen preparing the food.🤦🏻‍♂️. Worrisome at this stage of pandemic.

Lovely atmosphere at this beautiful restaurant! People where feeding the seagulls and made that a truly excitement for kids watching. The food arrived and wow was that a treat! The salad was a little bit of a let down, but the other meals were amazing! Waitress was super friendly, bathroom were clean and plenty of parking (may just have to walk alittle). Thanks for the great dinner.

Great place for seafood, fish and various basket options. Portions are generous. Staff are friendly and efficient and the tables along the edge get great sea views.

We visit this restaurant every time that we are in garden route. Love this place! Best view. Delicious food. We always order the ocean basket, its fish, calamari and mushrooms. The calamari is different than previously. Much more chewing. Will definitely go again but will order something else.

I have never in my life had the pleasure of eating such a wonderful fresh and tasty meal as what i experienced at The Sea Gypsy Cafe. Amazing service and friendly, genuinely nice staff. Awesome ambiance with a view over Mosselbay , Diaz, Hartenbos cove over the ocean. This view only improves when its dark. The starters were flavourful and aromatic, but the mains were average.

Starter creamy mussels are not worth ordering. The sauce is thick and lacking any flavor. Main dish was line fish (butter fish) with calamari. The line fish was ok but the calamari was too crispy.Hake and chips ordered by the rest of the group was a hit. Maybe stick to the most popular meals.

It gives you a rustic beach side feel. Nothing fancy but you can really sit and relax. Every body writes on the walls and tables and a lot has re visited therefrom all over the world

This place is unique and a must try when you are visiting Mosselbay. Great fish & chips, good prices, stunning service and authentic sea restaurant atmosphere. I love the blue wooden benches and the beautiful scenic view over the bay. Have been here many times over the past decade when we were visiting and have never been disappointed. And then to watch the hartlaubgulls playing in the wind - an absolute treat!

From Mosselbay to Danabay, for those that want to explore, be safe, never walk alone, always take pepperspray with, dont talk to strangers not dressed as trailrunners or hikers, be weary of the ones that would like to know the time, dont carry too many things of value. For the area from Mosselbay point to Pinnacle point security hut, keep your distance from strangers, peek ahead, when you reach the Pinacle point controlled access point hut, you know you are safe and you can enjoy the rest of the route. This is the safe area. Take at least 1.5l of water for this route, dont forget the sunscreen. Please press the like button if this review was of any assistance to you.

I loved this place. Theres a specific look they went for, old, rundown and 1920s feel of the coast and they kept it. It does give yu the feel tjat you are in transit. Serving were big and the food was great
