To say the service was a bit slow would be a great underestimation. When I was there it was a quiet day. Not a lot of people and yet it took nearly 15 mins just to get our drinks. 15 mins to tell us an item was out of stock and 45 mins to get our food, which was just some snack foods.The table across from us was left a complete mess for the entire time that we were there.The food was extremely low quality and cheap, even though they are very expensive.Only redeeming quality is the view.

1 star for the view who is really great. We came around 4pm to eat, nobody was in the restaurant. I had to get the guy to order the food. Were been waiting for 1hour and 20 minutes for the food to arrive... 20 more minutes to get the guy to come by with the card machine. We asked if can have a gesture for the delay, of course he said no. So dont come here except if you have a book with you to wait or a phone will full power to play Candy Crush.

What a spectacular location, better you could not ask for, with the beach right in front of you and the deck on the sand. Their food was great but unfortunately their coffee was quite disappointing. It more than the average price but definitely doesnt match the standard of any coffee place. Other than that, its a great place.

Absolutely fantastic view! And a very wide variety of pizzas and wines.Weve visited a few times but our last visit was slightly disappointing. Service was not up to scratch and the pizza base was very tough and they were skimpy on toppings in comparison to other visits.Great spot for drinking wine and enjoying the view, a fantastic photo spot! But considering the quality of food we were served, slightly overpriced.

The service is absolutely TERRIBLE.Whilst we were waiting for our food. 3 tables got up and walked our.We ourselves waited over 15min for 2 soft drinks.In general the food was tasty.However we order Panko Prawns as a starter and received TINY shrimp with not a single crumb. (Photo included)When informing the watron hereof the after insisted that it is Panko Prwans and it is clear she had no idea what Panko is.A Gem of a location.But the utter disgrace of service spoils it completely.

Lovely place for the family right in the beach. We had an omlette breakfast which tasted better than it looked... So very pleased by that 😁

Out of 4 dishes only one was worth the night out. The other three dishes was very disapointing. Service was not good as there was only one waitress to serve all the tables.

The perfect place for a quick lunch or a romantic dinner. Beautiful atmosphere, right on the beach.

Great location. Okay food. Everything else was a downright disgrace. We waited 15 minutes to place a drink order, 15 more minutes to place a food order and then well over an hour for our dinner. There was never more than 5 tables total in the restaurant at any given time we were there. The waitress did not check on us or ask about the drinks or food one single time after delivering them. Most importantly, if you are at all concerned about COVID, do not visit this restaurant. Not 24 hours after the presidents latest remarks on the dire situation, almost every employee had masks around their chins - including the cooks who we watched prepare our food. The manager was asked about it and he shrugged and had no explanation as to why this was the case. He responded that hopefully the cook would wear the mask in the future. We are visitors and got to town too late for any other dining options, otherwise we would have absolutely walked out of this establishment.

We were excited to try this restaurant. We were greeted with AWFUL service. It took us over an hour to get our food and not once did our waitress ask us for help after our drinks. More concerning, the cook and the workers were either no wearing masks or were not making them properly. When we asked about the masks, we were told they didn’t know why they weren’t wearing it. When we asked the mask about the mask our only response was “hopefully” she keeps it on. We do NOT recommend this place, at least during COVID.

Spectacular must see beach restaurant 5 mins from mossel bay cbd. 15 mins from N2. Everything right for families with blue sea on white sand beach. Unsuitable for disabled.

Very disappointed in the service. I get that human error occurs, but an apology at the least would have been nice. We waited more than an hour, without getting our food. When we asked when our order would be ready, we were told another 15 or so minutes. We told them we couldnt wait an hour and a half for food and would rather just pay for the drinks and leave. Our waitron asked if we would be paying for the food as well. What food, I ask you.

Very dissappointed in the service we recieved last night. After waiting a long time for our food (more than half an hour), when we asked for an ETA it was at least another half an hour (making it more than an hours wait for our food). We decided to leave the restaurant as we had no idea when our food would actually arive. We understand difficulties arise but then you inform the costumers that you have a problem and apolgise for the inconvenience.It was our Wedding Anniversary and we were very dissapointed that our Special evening ended in this.

I previously gave this restaurant a 4 star rating however it really is getting things right.I changed my rating to 5 after our last visit.The views are OBVIOUSLY fantastic. One of the best views in Mossel Bay.The food is really good now and even the coffee is now up to par.Great job to everyone that is involved here.Jackal on the Beach is now on my list of recommended restaurants to our international travellers.

Restaurant on the beach. Although they were packed, the service was good. You are also welcomed directly off the beach for a lovely lunch and glass of wine. The menu is also very well planned and offers a bit of a twist to your normal menu.

Had a awesome open bacon, mozzarella cheese and mushroom omelet. It was yummy. Love the venue. Its great to sit on the balcony and watch the sea, you often can see the dolphins breaking through the water. The menu has a good variety to choose from.. Great wedding venue and party function.

Best located restaurant in Mossel Bay!!! Right on the beach and great food too😊 I highly recommend their Pizzas and Jakkalsvlei wine. The staff is very friendly and the decor is modern. The atmosphere is very nice and I love the old historic photographs of the restaurant. Its nice to see how things have changed over time. The view is absolutely absolutely amazing day or night. Highly recommended

The last time I was here, evetything was fantastic and the food was delicious. The staff are still friendly but the quality of the food has gone downhill. My salad was off and made me sick. Would not recommend during the holiday season as all quality goes down.

EDIT: After a 2 year absence I decided to give this place another attempt. Im very sad to report that standards seem to have gone backwards.Basics are not right. Restaurant easy wins here are being missed and own goals are defeating the amazing potential of this location. The Jakkalsvlei brand is also at risk here and not run nearly as well as their Vineyard location outside Herbertsdale.Food: Pizza bases are clearly pre-packaged, cheap salty crax like discs made in electric oven. A huge sin for the R130+/- price!Most of the beers not in stock, none on tap in stock.Service: Our waiter was friendly and generally on top of things but took 45 mins for the food to arrive (plate of chips, a classic foccacia and crumbed mushrooms which were also out of stock! Mushrooms out of stock!). We were 1 of 3 tables, any basically trained kitchen staff should be able to handle this in 15 mins or less. When I went to the bathroom I saw at least 3 kitchen staff so short staffing is not the problem here.Wasnt surprised to see that there were no paper towels in the bathroom dispenser and the bin was over flowing. Another sign of lack of leadership.Table across from us never cleaned during our entire 2 hour visit, stuff blowing off the tables onto the beach, food left out to attract seagulls.Its so frustrating because with some basic training, leadership and minor changes this place could and should be amazing.My experience here is reoccurring and not based on one bad day for these guys. Can do better.

Now renamed Jackal on the Beach by the new owners. First class pizza! Wonderful to see how the place was given a new, fresh and clean look. Now it is rightfully another jewel in the crown of the town.

Beautiful restaurant with an amazing atmosphere and view, on the beach with the smell of the ocean and delicious food. Friendly staff and beautiful decor, definitely a must if you are in Mosselbay. They also have great craft beers on tap and gin bar with a big wine selection.

Great location!! Spent a lovely Sunday on the verandah with direct access to beach. Only down side was the limited white wine on offer and a small seafood menu.

Awesome views. You are right on the beach. Friendly staff. you can take a nice long stroll on the beach after your meal.See if you can hear how the sand sings under your feet (barefoot) when you gently rub your feet on the sand while walking)
