Big Blue is arguably the restaurant with the best views in the Mosselbay Waterfront (Point) area. From the deck area you have views of the iconic tidal pools (Die Poort Tidal Pool), the Mosselbay Zipline, the Cape St Blaize lighthouse and of course the magnificent Indian Ocean. The restaurant is very relaxed with indoor and outdoor seating areas, and is decorated in a laid-back beach style - they even have swings at the bar for you to relaxed on. It is important to note, that even if you sit inside, you will still have a great view as they have big windows facing the ocean. We visited for lunch and it was very nice, but the highlight for me was the cocktails which added to the beach vibe. The staff was also friendly and they followed the Covid regulations that were in place at the time.

The food was good, nice cocktails views were great... unfortunately the staff seem to have a IDGAF approach when serving you.

This place have so much potential its perfectly located and the views are amazing its also super fun to see the people coming down on the zipline, even have swings inside which is a fun decorative seat. Unfortunately the menu is not so amazing, theres not a lot of options nor anything special that stands out.

The venue is stunning. The view is awesome. Watching people come down the zip line or diving into the pool below is entertaining. The service is OK and the Drinks are tasty. Bit pricey and service could be better, but then location location location.

A very reasonable establishment with an excellent view over the ocean. Staff friendly with good service. A very basic menu that you expect from a relaxed Bar environment with not a lot to choose from but it work ......but.... food very tasty, decent portions and well priced. I can recommend their cocktails.There is also a pet-friendly area for smaller dogs. Thanx for a relaxing afternoon

Great meal, great location

Ive never rated anything before, but for this piece of heaven I just have to! It is an experience like youve never had. If you like the beach, you will love love love this atmosphere.

What a great break after 32C today had some coffee an some iced teas Black Label, with the coffee got 2 cold koeksisters want a waiter with character ask for Victor.

What a lovely place. The swings inside is such a different experience than the usual table and chair , the staff is so friendly and accommodating. The views are just amazing and you will probably see the most beautiful waves in your life while sitting on deck here.

Great detting and good food

The place has a really nice view and location. Our food and cocktails were very good and tasty. The service is a bit slow, but the food and view made it worthwhile. Will definitely recommend Big Blu to anyone else. Not too expensive either, fairly priced.

Waited long to get my drink order taken and menus brought to table. Restaurant wasnt that busy otherwise I would have understood. When my food came it was cold! Overall not a good experience. Hopefully next time it will be better.

Most beautiful view but very bad service. We waited for 20 min to be seated and there after we waited 20 plus mins just for a waiter to take our orders and then we waited a hour and a half to receive our food. On top of that the food was so oily, i could not finish my meal without getting nauseous. Terrible

Best setting with poorest service. Rude waiters walk around with masks on their chins/necks. 1 toilet that smells like a public toilet...surely cleaning procedures should be on point during Covid times. This place needs a good scrub and personnel training.

Relaxed spot with lovely views of the ocean. The cocktails are amazing, try the Point Break cocktail! It has a praline nut after taste. Delicious!

If it wasnt for the view... Food was dissapointing, cold when it arrived and all the food tasted the same. The chips tasted like it have been made a few days earlier. Not what I expected at all and dont think I will return.

I posted the rating down below a week ago with a 1 star rating....Todays experience was greatquick service, great cocktails, chips were the best ever, kids loved the hot chocolate and the manager himself was cleaning tables and checking on us...WELL DONE GUYS!!!What a change around...2 thumbs up!!1st review:I usually love this place, when i Mosselbay on holiday every December, we support them at least 4-5 times over a 2 week visit. I understand they are busy but today the waitress at the door was extremely rude, she told me they are full, which was obvious to anyone with half a brain.When i asked for a ballpark figure of how long the wait would be after I put down my name , she rudely told me that she cant guess and that i just have to wait till she calls my name and that there are 2 table ahead of me...Sad and pathetic, as we where really looking forward to their calamari and cocktails and would have gladly waited or returned in an hour if the staff had been half decent.Perhaps management should be more involved and choose someone with a sliver of a personality or at least average people skills to recieve their guests...2 thumbs down!!!

Beautiful and stunning location at the Point in Mossel Bay. The views are breath taking. Cosy and rustic restaurant. Ample parking available. A great destination to spend time with family and friends. Food was lovely and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Cold food, dirty floors, extra long waiting time for everything, stupid waiters (you need to ask for anything at least twice) - unbelievable poor performance! Completely overrated

Ordered chicken strips and found calamari in between. The strips and chips tasted like fish. Oil dripping from the food, had to use napkin to dab the oil off😞 really bad experience. Service is slow and orders were delivered wrong.

Other than for a quick drink, I would give this one a miss. If the open refuse bins between the tables and uncleared tables are anything to go by I wouldnt like to see the kitchen. Moving on swiftly....

Food was very tasty, however the service was a bit disorganized... The waiters work on an open seating way and no one is sure who serves who and if customers are being served. Apart from this Ill definitely be back for the view, excellent cocktails and delicious food they have quite a variety.

Wonderful setting, abysmal service. Brought out a beer without a bottle opener, then had to go all the way back inside and come back with it open. Tell me youre cleaning the kitchen at just before 8pm but that you can take an order of chips. I ask where the food was and I was asked if I heard that the kitchen was being cleaned...i dont think my order was even placed. Even the Ice cream I ordered was already melted . This location has much more potential. Its a pity the service levels are such a let down. I even witnessed customers leave because no one served them. Rather dont open on a public holiday if you cant provide adequate service levels.

Big Blue Beach Bar. You guys are Amazing

We were 3 people dining together and the fish for sure are cooked from frozen and has been lying in the fridge for long because it tasted like fridge. This was a disgusting meal and i cannot believe you get this standard of fish at a seafood restaurant right on the ocean! Do not eat there! All you can expect is disappointment. The waiter could also at least have asked if we enjoyed our meal or not. This restaurant has gone backwards.

Best sea view from a restaurant in Mossel-bay that is actually affordable. Nice Afrikaans staff and a lekker vibe. The swings at the bar made the five stars in my review
