The Sunday carvey lunch for Mothers Day today was excellent service and food so enjoyed it will definitely recommend them and will be back again.

I ordered a rump steak with green salad. Steak was slightly more done than I prefer but was still tender and juicy. The salad was well presented and the salad dress that is a homemade dressing was ons of the best. Good service and friendly staff make this a good place to just relax and take in the views of Margate beach

I had the ribs and grilled calamari and chips. The chips was nice, and the calamari and ribs was average. Not bad but nothing special.

Great expectations from our first visit to Larrys since they moved to Uvongo. Service was fine but some of the food was very mediocre. My Dagwood burger with extra patty ..requested soft fried egg and medium cooked beef patties and got a very well done egg and very over cooked beef patties.Its an ongoing battle in Restaurants to get what you actually order?Rather disappointing, Dont think Ill go back?

Great service, great vibe and great food just had a shell in one of my see food pizza slices. The reason Im not giving more stars is due to the seating arrangement. Outdoor seats are too close to each other. The guy behind me kept on pushing me and it was a bit annoying. I suggest that they maybe remove one or two of the tables outside to prevent crowding. Thanks for the great time Larrys!

Fun filled evening with a view of Margate beach and the side walk sellers. Put a name and date on a wooden board and be part of the history built into this lovely restaurant. Been there every time I went down to Margate and will be there again on my next holiday. Family friendly, good food and friendly staff. Always a good place to be.

The pizza is ok. Need to give instructions though. Had Italian kisses.

You have a wonderful view of the beach and ocean when sitting outside. The decorative boards you can buy and have them put up are nice but they have taken over the inside making it hard for you to walk if you’re taller than average. Their bathrooms are not well kept and are awkwardly designed. While not a fine dining experience, the food was still good and we had a pleasant afternoon.

Over the years I have come and gone but Larrys always stays as good as ever. GREAT pizza and AMAZING service. I recommend them all the time. One of my favourite coastal places!

It was a pleasure to finally have visited Larrys. All the name boards make for plenty to look at while waiting for your orders.Our waitress was SO nice!We had the t-bone steaks with Larrys sauce. The basting sauce and Larrys sauce was devine. I just had to deduct one star because the steaks were a bit on the tough side.

My first time to Margate and we stopped at Larrys for lunch with my toddler. I was impressed from the moment we walked in. the attention from the staff, the decor loved it! To this day we have been on a quest to find calamari that tastes anything close to Larrys!! Larrys you are by far best with your calamari!!!

Not worth a single penny. Would not recommend to anyone. Firstly, no proper waiting system. We waited 10 minutes, and a family who came after us sneaked by and the host informs us: “I don’t have eyes everywhere, they slipped through.” Second, it takes the waitress 30 minutes to take an order. Another 30 minutes to bring the wine menu. Another 15 minutes to get the correct wine. Another 1 hour to bring out the food. And worst of all: we ordered 6 starters, and only 4 came out. When questioned by the waitress, she firstly refused to acknowledge the miss, and then gave a ridiculous answer: “oh the kitchen prepared fries than grilled.” What a pathetic restaurant, with pathetic service, with disappointing host and servers. Not recommended at all.

Larrys is well situated in terms of locality and overlooks the main beach area of Margate. Unique in terms of personalised boards that can be made up to commemorate your visit. Service is very good and tasty simple pub grub on offer. Try the onion rings.

Order the Durban lamb curry, its great. Service was a bit slow, perhaps they took on extra servers for holiday season? Calamari was fine, prawns so - so. Pizza was really good. Friendly service

We had a nice experience with a personal touch from the lady serving us as it was out of season and not very busy. Food was great with a view on the main beach. Craft beer to go and you can opt for a “I was here” board to be hanged from the ceiling, which you can search for during your next visit.

We have always so enjoyed the times we have spent at Larrys, the view is amazing and the staff very pleasant. But the last 2 visits the food has not been as good as it was in the past. I dont know what has happened but it was just mediocre. The food used to always be top class, we always recommended the restaurant to visitors. Please go back to your previous standards. Thanks

I can only rate a 3 star... the view is superb nice place we even had our names put up after coming here and always ordered quite a few drinks... BUT then we had a very very disgusting rude manager who took our whole vibe away... our fish which was just hake took over an hour to come and when i complained then straight away he started so i lost it with this bad mannered individual and told him you can take it away we will pay for our drinks and we are off... so then he wanted to call the police hahahahaha really i said call them and we left... he probably took our names down which cost around R140 WOW what an experience

I just left the restaurant, and I am the happiest person alive right now! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by all staff and my waitress kept checking on my table each time she walked passed me. Tried the pizza and lemon butter prawn platter with rice & chip, the food was absolutely incredible, and I absolutely loved every bit of it. The atmosphere is warm and very relaxed; there is a view of margate main beach and the happenings of that area outside, & the restaurant is uniquely decorated with nameplates of previous patrons on the inside. I definitely recommend Larrys to everybody visiting the South coast.

Fantastic food. Our table had curry lamb, curry beef and callamari. Wow, all freshly made. Best food I had in a while. It is unpretentious though, so if you are looking for fancy this is not it.

Food was great. My big complaint is the fact patrons are allowed to smoke at the tables. We did request to move and the staff were happy to accommodate that move. Surely a no smoking policy should be enforced.

The pizza was good and that is it... the waiter was high as a kite and struggled to understand simple instructions. Do not eat seafood here, it is dry and old, the must be getting their seafood from Johannesburg to save costs.

Great restaurant with an amazing ocean view. You can also see Margate beach and all the action going on there. All the personalised name plates in the restaurant makes this place very unique and interesting. Me and my family usually try to read all the names and we have a laugh if we read other peoples name that is the same as ours. The food is also amazing. Great seafood, great pizzas, great everything. Also a great place if you just want to sit with a drink and enjoy the view. The service is excellent!!!

Great view of the ocean. The hanging boards with names was interesting but very gimmicky. The food was nothing notable. Pork chops had no glaze or sauce to speak off. Ribs were chewy and seafood platter was fairly average. Ocean basket and steers do a better job imo considering the price.

The experience we had left us miserable & frustrated. The service from the waitresses was pleasing. However, when we pointed out that the vege ( green beans with mashed potatoes) was off & sticky. Additionally, the hake was watery inside showing that it was not fully defrosted. The manager was arrogant & ignorant, never apologized nor approached us &his response was that he is going to give a discount for the plate, didn’t stipulate of how much, he then decided to change his mind a few minutes after to compensate with a drink that must go with a new order that we must pay for in full. We cancelled the order. The food was not pleasing, at all, nothing special, just a little below average.I would never recommend that restaurant to any one.
