Manager couldnt give change with take away order. Asked us to get the change when we pick up the food. We came back almost an hour later to collect the food and our change and we were told she went to the bathroom. Waited almost 15 minutes (went to go fetch her eventually) and she still struggled to get the change because she didnt get the change ready as she said she would. Food was delicious.

Service was quick and staff are friendly. Food was well prepared and delicious. Fish was nice and crispy.

June 2021. GREAT disappointment! Went there for a Birthday celebration. The actual menu differs from Google ads. They dont serve the Mussel pot as advertised. My dish, 12 prawns special was messy , small and tasteless. SHAME on you !! In our party , the hake with prawns and sauce was rubbery.However, service was good and restaurant clean and bright . Will be hesitant to try this restaurant and menu again ! Cannot recommend.

I got take away from this shop. However was disappointed by the quality of the food. The prawn was overcooked, the chips tasted like oven bake chips, the hake was tasteless, and the calamari was not only soggy(over cooked) but also a very small portion for the main meal. The rice, however, was very tasty.

The food was amazing and although they were busy, the food arrived quickly and the staff were extremely helpful and cheerful, making our night enjoyable.

Amazing food, pretty decent prices. Theres some good dessert options as well. A wide range of different sushi to choose from, its 10/10 proper sushi so you cant go wrong. Milkshakes are good but better had as a dessert. They have some pretty good deals on all the other fish dishes too. Definitely worth a visit

This is place I call home. We always have been treated excellent and the service and food is always excellent. I love the John Dorys. My boy loves the play area, I cant comment for he is the enjoying it. I know that he always chooses John Dorys because of the area.

John dorys food is pretty good. My husband loves the Portuguese steak and I love the hake and prawns. The lady that served us was very friendly and quick with her smiles. Overall a nice visit.

My food was awesome. I had the fish and chips double offering which you can have chips and salads. The waiter will inform what your choices are.

Ive always loved John Dorys and I especially love the fact its right on our doorstep BUT last week my sister and I went for the Wednesday sushi special. I was so disappointed with our waitress and the service we received.This isnt the standard Im used to at this branch so I will still be giving 4 stars but she shouldnt be front of house if she isnt a peoples person.

The ribs were not up to standard of the JD I know. Too salty. They were boney. I dont recommend this JD at all. I know how the JD restaurant make their food. But this 1... no!. Their wings had the right amount of hot but they didnt look appetizing. Too dry also. Huh huh!

On a very busy evening the service was very good and we were immediately assisted by the hotess which is always nice. Sushi was really nice and we enjoyed the night out, BUT and unfortunately there is a but... For a moment I thought Leon Schuster was about to pounce on us and tell us that were in a must be joking film... R 27 for a 300ml can of coke...speaks for itself

Sat at the sushi bar, but with only 3 plates going round snd around we decided to order directly with the waiter who was very helpfulThe manager were just getting plates out to tables not giving attention to putting plates on the belt. They were very busy but no reason not keeping plates on the belt as well. He did come and apologize where we gave him some tips from other JD’s we frequently visit. The sushi was tasteful when it arrived

Reasonable Tuesday special The have was quite small and the salad was mostly lettuce. The calamari hake combo also had a seriously small hake and same salad issue. Good service

This is the best John Dorys restaurant in South Africa hands down. I have been to several and none of them compare with this one. The quality of the food is do much better, the cheese cake is to die for and the service is simply outstanding. Highly recommended!

Will always pay a visit. Quality food. Milkshakes are not too strong. Staff always friendly and eager to help their customer. You almost never have to wait longer then 15 minutes on a busy day. Peacefull and quiet place to sit with your family. Fun play area for your kids.

Excellent food, excellent service! Phumisa was our waitress and she was a superstar! Theres a child minder here called Nellie she does such a good job of making every child feel welcome! Its obvious that this is not just a job to her, she loves every minute playing with the kids.

The lovely cute waitress was so pleasant and happy she really made our day, we felt so enlightened and special that we couldnt stop thanking her.

Service was slow, was seated promptly but waited over 10 minutes for our drinks order to be taken. We ordered sushi, waited 30 minutes for food to arrive. Sushi was tasty and fresh.

The side salad was tragic but the fish and chips was tasty and decent portion.

We waited for a table for over an hour. When we got a table and ordered sushi which arrived over an hour later as well. When it eventually arrived it was good though.

I really enjoyed the food but the attitude of the some of the waitresses was not the best. I believe in the policy that the customer is always right. But overall the foof was good and location was good and the food was delivered on time .
