The most beautiful experience my wife and I had! Spent our 1 Year wedding anniversary there.From accommodation and house keeping. To the delicious food and drinks! Service at its absolute best.Personal Game drives were amazing the the rangers were amazing. Knowledgeable and fun to be with.Definitely a place I can recommend anyone! Whether for a special event or a family getaway.

Our stay was amazing..the staff were extremely personal and attentive..the cuisine of a very enjoyable standard. Game drives with a very informative field guide. Viewing of game was a plenty.. would highly recommend a visit to Umzolozolo.

The staff were really very polite and helpful. The game drives were spectacular. JB our game ranger, was especially motivated, and extremely knowledgeable, enjoyed his company, while on the drives.

Perfection. Would definitely return again. From the moment of arrival to departure all the staff remembered all of our names (including those who I rarely saw). It was a nice touch and felt like staying in the company of friends. Robert on the bar was incredible, he was incredibly attentive with all the guests and without hastiness. Food, lodge, game drive, and rooms were all perfect, I wouldnt change anything!

We visited twice between April 2019 and January 2020- the lodge has small touches that make the world of difference. Beautiful finishes. Robert, at the bar, was outstanding. We havent tried the spa but will have to come back:)

Beautiful views, friendly staff and the attention to detail was incredible. We really loved our stay here. Our game ranger Keegan was incredible at reading the animals and placing us in the perfect spot to see them.

From the first moment we got there, the staff welcomed us with excellent hospitality, expertise and willingness. Not one of them said no to any request that we had. The staff even did a set up for my wife and i(newly wed) for dinner, and for our niece’s birthday. They also fulfilled our request prior to arrival and purchased special halal meat for our entire stay (3 meals a day for 2 days). Our guide Siya was superb, and we thank him for being with us from start to finish. What a brilliant experience of a safari and the big 5. Only down side being the lack of WiFi in the rooms.

We had the most awesome time. Saw lots of fantastic sightings, including lion,with cubs,cheetah with kill, elephant, giraffe etc etc. Highly recommended. The food was 1st class and the setting hard to beat. Our ranger, Promise, was very knowledgeable on all aspects of wildlife and their surrounds.

Greatest experience I have ever had

Just returned from a stunning three night stay at the lodge with 2 kids. Warmly welcomed, high quality service and happy and very accommodating staff all adding up to a great experience. In particular the lodge ranger went above and beyond to make each of the game drives a truly memorable occasion, in particular for the children. Very patient and did his absolute best to make sure the drive came alive for them. Highly recommend.

What a treat 10/10 would recommend to anyone. The staff all learn your name and know who you are. The room we stayed in had a jacuzzi on the balcony. Inside and outside showers and indoor bath.Food was great and the chefs know what they are doing.All but drinks are included. One of the best things about this package includes 2 game drives a day lunch breakfast and supper. Game drives stop for snacks and drinks half way through.Super chilled but fun experience.

We spent a fabulous 3 nights at Umzolozolo lodge in November. Everything about our stay was spectacular - the staff were wonderful, our accommodation was fantastic, the game drives were with a guide who made everything so interesting. Everything was so easy from the booking onwards and it was a really relaxing but memorable holiday! Highly recommended!

Has change with upgrade. New staff with limited game lodge experience. If a bush experience is desired book only rooms 1 through to 5. Seems to be going the boutique hotel route.

Dave the wine sampling wasnt bad either !!.staff were very helpful and polite making our stay so wonderful.As for the safari - thrilling ,wonderful just brilliant .It came as a gift from our children for our 30th wedding on March 30th ...what more could we have asked for in life ? What to say about our weekend at Umzolozolo......it was pure self-indulgence! Imagine bubbling away in the warm jacuzzi whilst watching game, with your binos, in the beautiful valley below. Dave and Debbie were there to give us a warm welcome on arrival and by the time we left we felt like family. There is a true African feeling about the lodge...complete with carvings, animal horns and beaded lamp shades. The food was delicious and I so enjoyed the romantic dinner my husby and I had in the room to celebrate our 37th anniversary. Thank you for making it so special. I loved the bath by candlelight which was prepared in advance so I could soak after a cold game drive. Although we didnt see any cats there was plenty of other game to keep us happy....elephant, jackal, giraffe, zebra, plenty kudu, nyala, eland etc and 5 rhino. What a pity we cant afford to go more often...still, it was a treat to remember.
