Great restaurant, has a very Durban feeling to the place and the staff are friendly. Food was good and tasted like authentic Durban food. The restaurant has large spacious tables and they were well spaced apart. They also seem to offer a venue for card games (Thunee Specifically). Prices were moderate and portions more than enough for one person. Will definitely be a regular place to visit when looking for Durban food

We go there almost every weekend. My boyfriend always orders the mutton bunny and loves it! I personally prefer the sugar beans bunny (best thing on the menu). The samosas and other snacks are also really good👌😋

Many local Indian take away claim their food is authentic durban style curry but on tasting it we beg to differ. Curry is not about just having spicy food where you have to sip something cool just to eat it. Its more about a balance of flavour and just not the Chilli heat level. Being on a search to find a place of this nature over many years has been a challenge due to the inconsistency if these places. Chowz has been my go to place when I am feeling for curry in a hurry. Their food is consistent and freshly made. I can already taste the food when walking through their doors and know what I would be expecting. Portion sizes are generous and consistent. Staff are pleasant and serve the food in a reasonable wait time no matter how busy they are. I have used the word consistent many times for obvious reasons due to many other establishments not following this golden rule. So far its been so good at Chowz. If you are looking for a genuine durban style authentic curry up here in GP which will put a smile on your face I highly recommend them.

Cannot believe the lack of caring and apathy displayed by the owner Rodney. My past 3 orders delivered have been unsatisfactory and I continued to hope that there would be a change, to my great sadness we will never support Chowz again. My 3 orders below.1. Order delivered close to 1hr30min after placing the order, and the bunnies arrived ice cold, reheating ice cold bunnies provides a horrible meal. Rodney blamed the weather and said he will investigate the delivery time although I have the full conversation over whatsapp. No feedback as yet.2. Order included extra roti with my meal to ensure I enjoyed my mutton and cabbage as I wanted, with roti and not bread. I was charged and the extra roti was not delivered. I am expected to order more food from this useless provider to get a discount for the amount of the roti?? Maybe Rodney does not understand that people do not want to pay for bad food and service.3. Ordered a large family meal close to a R1000, deconstructed mutton bunnies this time to ensure we get a good experience. The mutton curry delivered was salty as experienced by all who tasted it. Rodney insists everyone who tasted the curry is wrong and only he could be right cause he knows his pot.So Rodney;s solution to rectifying me spending money at his store for substandard food and service is to tell me it is the weathers fault and me not tasting food correctly, and I should order more food from him to get a R20 discount on roti for food i dont really want from his store. NO apologies or promises of better service. He really believes it only could have happened the way he says although he was never present for any of the deliveries or food.Not sure if Rodney thinks his lack of service and caring in the food provided, is the authentic durban experience. SAD he thinks this way.Really hoped to find a decent provider of Indian food, with good service in the North. DISSAPPOINTING!

Had a mutton on bunny there last night and it was extremely dissapointing. The quality of the meat is terrible will never be returning there again.

They make prawn curry on weekends. Its honestly the best Ive ever had.Highly recommended.

Rocked up, was greeted and assisted by super friendly staff. The place is nice. The food is cooked properly, but it isn’t Durban spicy. To be honest, it didn’t taste like Durban curry at all.Update: I am now dropping Chowz to 1 star. Three meals three disasters. The last one was a piece of plastic peb in my broad bean bunny. Three chances are more than enough.

Now I know why everyone was talking about Chowz. Their food is top notch . Amazing mutton curry and chicken bunnies. The chicken samosas are the best I have had . In the words of Arnold Schartzenegger, Ill be back, and soon. Yummy.

1st time I ate there the mutton bunny was amazing. 2nd time it was complete horrible. Meat tasted as if it was off. Hopefully 3rd time is a charm. Service is generally slow and you will wait at least 15 minutes for your food.

Its hard to get at durban style bunny chow in Joburg (I know there will be some suggested spinoffs from this), but this is one of the places where you can. The bunny was tasty, hot and fresh.Good Effort!

Awesome curry, 5th visit to this establishment from the time Ive been up in Jhb...clean, well organized, fast service even when this place is extremely busy.

Food was good and one of the better bunnies in the fourways area. The chips could be better, perhaps the old fashioned masala chips made from real potatoes and a little vinegar.The mutton burger is a winner and they should definitely keep that on their menu.The letdown was the service. The teller was not friendly and doesn’t provide any suggestions on what to order. Hopefully this establishment doesn’t lose the authentic Durban taste. Will definitely give it another try.

Really Good Food, it was my second time there, Service is Appauling but I could tell the Regulars get real good service. If you can soldier past the bad service given to the newbies and get to regular customer status, you will love the place.I wont be going back there.
