I just had a chip roll from Akhalwayas in Woodmead, as I was rushing and needed something simple and easy to eat (and cheap). It was delicious with the right amount of heat (masala) and tang from some vinegar. It was also a very generous portion of the freshest (just fried) chips in a fresh and soft roll. Best of all, was only R28. Will definitely be back to try out their other stuff, given the freshness and pricing.

Curry had obviously been defrosted and re-heated before it was thrown into a loaf and called a bunny chow. The tikka burger was also thrown into a container. All toppings messed underneath of bun. The 2 stars is for the chips, which was the only thing we managed to eat.

I always enjoy the chips rather the food they sell from this restaurant. I want them to open a branch in midrand. Iv been a regular customer especially buying the basmati rice of sadhu.

Gotta love the food here. Akhalwayas have been known for the spice trade, but their takeaway food has been a major attraction for years now, it brings people back. Visit them to choose from their tasty meals menu. Aadil is the guy you who will take care of your order. The food is worth the wait and the drive there. Visit them the next time you in the area, you wont regret it

They have their days, some days the food is AMAZING and some you would ask yourself if the chef was angry or ran out of spices.

Excellent customer service and great food

Service is not the greatest, prices are decent on most items, however the cheese and onion samoosas did not have much cheese.Also, the beans curry roti roll was pretty average and not worth the price.The chip roll was excellent though.

Had a Lamb and Beef Bunny Chow. The flavour on both were good. The Beef Bunny was absolutely packed with meat, more than enough. The Lamb Bunny had exactly 3 pieces with large bones. Overall the price is decent.

Often eat at the various Akhalwayas branches, but compared to others, food is terrible here. They appeared to have changed suppliers for the Russians and Viennas (which seems to be unique to this branch) - taste is nothing short of bad. Even the chips were not properly prepared. If youre really want decent Akals food, avoid this particular branch.On a positive note, service is quick, but Id rather wait if needed for something properly prepared.

First Bunny I ate from your place was perfect because it was bought by my Indian friend.Today I bought it myself, I bought two bunny chows for me and my friendon her first experience of bunny chow but she was really disappointed.Bread was old and it was only 3 pieces of meat and there was no potato like last time. Maybe because I am blackeveyrthing was bad about it.Am really disappointed.

Food is awesome...love their steak sandwiches...and their chips are divine..they just need to work on their customer care and learn to at least make customers feel like they care..I find this lacking unfortunately ...as I come from the customer care industry and work internationally in training in this area..the person in front is the face and voice of any company so its vitally important that customers at least feel that they matter... ...if they work on this then they are the best ...

Superb chow as always. Be patient if they are busy as they take care in their food preparation. Its worth the wait.

Image Quality of food on Uber Eats are HIGHLY EXAGGERATED. They make the Russian Rolls look big and yummy as if they are generous with their ingredients but youll be paying R64 for a russian cut up in strips on a small bun. You pay extra for cheese but youll have to dig through the bun to find cheese. Terrible fake presentation of high quality foods which they do NOT give but charge for. Will NEVER buy here again.

Bought a quarter mutton bunny chow yesterday and paid R60, bunny only had 3 huge chunks of bones in it that looked like bones you would feed to a dog. Showed the manager and all he said was sorry, thats how the butcher cut it. It was unappetizing and disgusting. Absolutely pathetic that they will still cook that and serve it to the customers. Pathetic service, they didnt even offer to change my meal or give me a refund, will definitely not eat there again....

Think they are serving food that has been in the freezer for 2 months...have just thrown the chips in the bin and too scared to eat anything else

Great fast food for a quick bite, very large portion for the price your wallet, taste buds and tongue will love but your Heart and arteries will dissagree 😊.Seating is limited so consider rather taking away, can get very busy , but their food preparation time is very fast so not a very long wait for your food.Staff are always friendly and try and chat to all customers.

Disgusting! Almost no cheese, sausage burnt/overcooked & anyones guess as to what meat it, certainly not quality sausages. If I was in person I would have returned this and definitely not have paid. Unfortunately here I used Uber Eats who were very unhelpful, Mr D Food has always been fantastic in these instances.traditionally Ive been happy with Akhalways but given they refuse to refund an unhappy customers order I will not order again and will ensure that my colleagues and friends, all of whom order from them, see the picture of this food and understand they refused to refund.

Good dayI think Akhalwaya Woodmead has to put in more effort in making food then just selling food.I bought beef curry and a steak wrap at the shop in Woodmead today and the curry had big pieces of meat that were uncut and tasteless.Rice was full of water and the wrap had also pieces of meat that were uneasy to swallow.I dont mean to be rude or stir up emotions, I like the store but more effort should be put into making the food than just selling it.N.
